I sure wish the btr gen2 2-12x42 had the smaller center dot.... why would they put a full MOA sized dot in the middle of the 2x12?? Faster/ easier target acquisition ??
I'd love to see you review the ed Japanese glass offerings or get sig msr MPVOs into the comparison. Both Athlon and Sig seem to be punching above their price points in scope offerings
I just bought this scope YESTERDAY!!! LOVE the reticle, nearly identical to the one in my Cronus. Turrets are typical Athlon (snappy, crispy, loud) punches above it's weight. Glass seems to be same level as the Midas Tac that I had, again above it's weight class, but nowhere close to the Cronus (which is expected of course) The only change Id like to see Athlon make is with their illumination. I do not like the XMas tree to be lit up and even the entire stadia lines is a bit much, Just the middle 2 mils is plenty. I believe Zeiss does it that way and its lovely!! Athlon really doesn't miss often, if ever! If you have not tried Athlon....you should
Yet another excellent review and comparison analysis. I'm really impressed with the entire line of scopes that Athlon offers...especially taking price into consideration. I thought that I was pretty much settled in on the Helos BTR 2-12x42, but now the 4-20x50 is tickling my fancy. I think it's mainly because I much prefer its reticle design, although I don't need the additional magnification and would rather not have it. Even the Midas that was rolled in has me spinning a little because of the significant increase in resolution, but it doesn't have the feature set I'm looking for...so...no. Between the 2-12 and 4-20 magnification ranges, I wonder which would offer more clarity and better reticle usability at 6-8x which is probably where I would be spending most of my time. Also, I'm very curious to see how this Athlon Helos BTR Gen 2 4-20x50 would stack up against the Vortex Viper PST Gen 2 3-15x44 as they are similarly spec'd and the Viper with the discontinued EBR-2C (MRAD) reticle can be had at about the same cost.
I’d be really interested to see your review on a leupold mark 3hd 4-12 with side focus. I have a leupold vx freedom 4-12 with the tmr reticle and I love that scope, just unfortunately no parallax adjustment. I’d like the 4-12 as a hunting scope due to really light weight and hopefully at least somewhat better glass than the freedom, although the vx freedom, back when they were ~300 range, were a great deal for the glass in them

I think the new 2-12 helos came with the throw lever now. Great review as always. Can you talk to Athlon see if you can take a look at their bench rest scopes? Like the ones goes to 40x ?
A few weeks later and I keep coming back to the comparison made with the Midas Tac HD scope. The increased resolution with the Midas over the Helos is quite apparent. Just wondering how important having an illuminated reticle would be for a rifle used strictly as a range gun. I've also heard that the battery life is generally quite sparse for scopes with an illuminated reticle. Not sure how sparse is meant by "sparse" in terms of hours of use. What's more important...having a scope with locking turrets and an illuminated reticle or one with higher resolution and better eye-box characteristics?

It's worth mentioning that dialing up to 10 mils is shooting at a target just shy of a 1,000 yards with a 308 cartridge. Rokslide.... he's a dork
@@Solidbuilthomes I appreciate it thank you
I have a new badger ordnance condition one scope mount that I’d be willing to send you for review if you’re interested
Well hell yeah
My 2-12 came with a throw lever
I just wish they would take the stupid "no paint" rule off their warranty requirements.
Hmm, this or Arken....
This. I had a ep5 5-25. Glass was terrible.
Would love to see comparison to Arken.
He does tracking tests on all the scopes so pointless reviewing anything Arken.
God damn I hate unboxing videos
MK4HD please!!!
Okay okay I like ur videos and but did you just say you preferred the Helios over the T6xi ?! 😂 come one dude. I’ve been behind a lot of scopes and I sold many just to have the 3-18 t6. Most cost more than the t6. Helios is a good little scope for the money but not even close to as clear or as wide of a field of view and much better controls. Some sample to sample variance but. Msr2 is also the best ret as a do it all ret imo.
Aaand it a just under 1000€ here so no......
This is great news 👍👍👍👍👍👍🫎🫎🫎🫎🫎🦌🦌🦌🦌
14:34 Take my money.🫠 This on a 16” or 18” .308 is a no-brainer
