Honestly it would be super cool if you posted a link to all of your sources. If not in the description box then a link to a doc of them. The more creators that do that, the better off we'll be when we need to counter the lame arguments that get used.
Last time I heard the ATF branched off the IRS. I don’t think the ATF was ever created by Congress or the President but has gotten presidential approval. One thing is for sure, though around the prohibition era where the ATF was created was also the time when the cartels were born. I could be completely wrong, but this is the reason why channels like this and information from other channels help us out.
As a thought, Prohibition came 1 generation after the industrial revolution. The rising wealth of the middle class and the cultural changes in the family allowed rich women to be an organized force of busy bodies in politics for the 1st time.
I was gonna listen to this to fall asleep then I realized it would make me so fkin mad I’d be tossing and turning the whole night so I’m off to find a 6 hour video on the Roman Empire I’ll be back tomorrow to watch this ✌️😂
ATF should be about ensuring quality. Instead they do....what? Ever hear the story about cruise patrons drinking wood liquor in the Caribbean because it's cheaper and unscrupulous vendors diluted? Resulted in death.
I watched the bridge shootout scene from up on the mountainside. Ever since then, I have wanted even more alcohol, firearms, and explosives. Never been into tobacco. I knew the guy who owned one of the cars used in that scene. Since that movie, I have made my own booze and firearms.
All it takes is one or two RINOs in the House to kill the bill, and there would be dozens voting against it. In the Senate, we'd need 60 votes to overcome the filibuster. I'm afraid it won't happen in our lifetimes - thanks to voters, not just congresscritters.
I and many other strong conservatives in my area have stood side by side through contentious primaries, sexually explicit material in libraries, stand your ground laws and all of the COVID measures. All about personal responsibility and freedom of choice. And then, on this issue specifically, they flip 180 and tell me we shouldn't be able to choose to drink. We're in a dry county because of these archaic arguments and they can't see the forest for the trees.
It's a love-made relationship for me. It does an amazing job of glorifying guys doing terrible things... But you do get to see Sean Connery ride a horse while holding a Tommy gun.
@isaacbotkintrex I've seen it and there's some great moments, the movie is well made. In my opinion the movie makes heroes out of men thst were no heros. Imagine if they made a movie about waco where the feds were the heros and did nothing wrong. We would call out the movie as propaganda. That's how I feel about the untouchables. One scene that I hate, the shootout on the bridge when a bullet missed Charles Martin Smith and hits the barrel of boos behind him. Smith, the fed drinks from it, then whith his newfound liquid courage has his hero moment. The scene just screams hypocrite in my opinion. That aside, I'm a big fan of all that you do. Keep up the good work and I look forward to seeing episode 2. Hopefully it's not too long if a wait.
THANK YOU I was really wishing there was a movie credit, couldn't find it from dialogue and searching from a video snapshot on PC is a ballache apologies @isaacbotkintrex if the film was credited and I simply failed to notice it
I'd like to know more about how they regulate tobacco. I smoked cigarettes for 40yrs and I testify they kept me out of trouble! Cigarettes were a sedative to me. They may kill me at some point, but they saved others. Smoking saves lives 🥴🍺
The only ATF we need, and there should be, is Walmart. Because it's the only place in America I can get alcohol, firearms, and tobacco in the same place.
my understanding of alcohol prohibition was actual to prevent the farmers of distilling their own ethanol to fuel their farm equipment. Therefore, the oil industry received a huge revenue boost. By the time it was repealed 10+ years later, most the distilling equipment and knowledge was lost by said farmers. Same as same with Hemp and the paper industry.
Ah, that is a very interesting point. Standard Oil and others worked pretty hard to make the car industry depended on petroleum decades before, but farm equipment would have been much easier to run off of diesel. However, there were still plenty of sanctimonious busy bodies, as evidenced by the fact that we tried prohibition in the 1840s, before we had internal combustion engines.
Charlie: The ATF is Gay.
Isaac: This is how the ATF became Gay.
It's a multipart series... with footnotes.
@@T.REXLabs Long train of abuses.
They are well known as the agency of glory hole enthusiasts.
@@T.REXLabs Hopefully the next to last episode will end with @BrandonHerrera becoming the Director of the AFT
HAHAHAHA that's perfect!!!
When the title becomes "The ATF is History," then we may all rejoice
I really hope Brandon Herrera gets put in as director
I second that.,,
Why?
His YT channel is entertaining but what experiences does he have that would support the idea that he would be a good choice for that job?

As usual, fantastically researched and arranged.
Appreciate you doing these vids more than you know. It's so refreshing listening to someone who is actually intelligent
100 years later. Still waiting for prohibition to end.
This is quickly becoming the best gun channel on YT, keep it up.
I always enjoy your presentations. You thorough research and your delivery make your videos much more informative and enjoyable.

Excellent coverage and detail of the history of the unconstitutional bureau of alcohol, tobacco and firearms.
This dude makes absolute bangers ! Keep this up please. Best TH-cam channel out there for 2A
Appreciate the great content
Thank you

The ATF and IRS should be disbanded
The FBI can be added to the list
Oh man, I've been waiting on this video...*grabs the popcorn for a history lesson*
Oh great, now the ATF is going to ban popcorn.
They better not! Then what am I going to do with my high capaci-, standard capacity popcorn bowl?
@@taylorratliff405 Keep it secret. Keep it safe. XD

this is the most substantive video ever
I think the ATF's entire history can be summed up with the sentence "From behind a badge, many crimes were committed".
Glad to see Paul Johnson get some love. He's one of my favorite historians, along with Victor Davis Hanson.

Isaac for ATF director :)
What I got from this is: Repeal the 19th
What most people don’t get is that 200$ back in the day is about $4300 today. There’s no way that can in any way be feasible to average citizens.
Excellent video
Wish Issac was my history teacher back in High school, I learn more from him than what my teachers taught me back in the day 😂

if the next administration cant repeal the NFA and disband the ATF idk if the country survives ten years from now
The next administration is ran by the same people as the last one… nothing will change

Since we have a majority now in both houses, we all should be writing our representatives encouraging them to repeal the NFA.

Fun fact: without women voting we would have never had prohibition...or abortion...or a democrat president since FDR...
