    I came from the bushnell deal on Reddit and I have to say, I really enjoyed this review, very well done. One thing that I would have liked to see is the magnification values at the bottom of each scope you are comparing just to reinforce where you are when you show the difference between magnifications and FOV because it could be a little confusing at times (maybe I’m just special). Overall great video, definitely will be subscribing and look forward to future reviews!

      Snipershide has a recent review worth checking out too. They compared the MPED with several other brands of scopes in the sub $1000 price point.
      What people don't know is the MPED and Match Pro with illuminated reticle only have a 5 year warranty on their electronics and didn't read the Better Business Bureau Bushnell Outdoor complaints.

      Compared to the Athlon Midas Tac 6-24x50 side by side at distances past 700+ yards, the Athlon is the better quality scope in regards to glass/ image quality on high magnification and has noticeably better turrets a fantastic scope when they go on sale for around $450. The Ares BTR Gen 2 4.5-27x50 that's currently on sale for $565.49 is even better than the Midas Tac and a lot better than the MPED in regards to image quality even though they use HD glass compared to the ED glass used in the Bushnell and both Athlons share the same stainless steel reliable turrets. Athlon's lifetime warranty is better than Bushnell's since it includes lifetime coverage even for their electronics for their illuminated reticles.
      The Bushnell may seem like it's a nice scope if you don't already have these specific Athlons to compare it to or if you haven't bought the much cheaper Viridian Xactus 5-30x56 for under $600 that has nicer glass (though not as clear as the Athlons) and similar locking turrets with second rotation pop up rev indicator compared to the MPED and has a better lifetime warranty.

    I think it's very funny that the illumination goes to 11 and no off position after that. "This one goes to 11" and if you're at max, you're not turning it off baby! All gas no brakes!

    Another great review. I have the regular (non ED) Match Pro which does have the off setting in between different illumination settings. I have been extremely impressed with this scope. It would have been interesting to see how the regular Match Pro versus the MPED would have matched up.

    • @commonsense5709
      @commonsense5709 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The turrets on the cheaper Match Pro is better than the MPED. These two Match Pro and their new MPED version don't appear to be made at the same Chinese factory. The cheaper one felt more robust too.
      I like the Bushnell Engage better than both the Match Pro and MPED. For some strange reason the glass used in their 6-24x50 Engage seems clearer.

      I snagged up a Bushnell Forge 2.5-15x50 SFP with Deploy MOA reticle on sale a few years back. I have it on my 270 Win for matches and hunting. This scope is so awesome I've dialed and hit steel to 1220 yards with excellent clarity in the woods, beautiful field of view on 2.5-5x with the SFP reticle it doesn't disappear when needing to take a shot on lower power.
      I love it so much I snagged a second Forge, 4.5-27x50 FFP Deploy MOA illuminated.
      I see the MP 6-24x50 FFP Mil on sale for over half off on MOA versions and tempted to snag one up before they are gone even though I shoot with MOA optics.

    23:43 you can see the centre floating dot better with the Toric and this is at 30x
    The Deploy 2 and the G4P reticles by bushnell have a very tight floating dot that needs at least 22x magnification to clearly distinguish it and wanna aim with the dot.
    Be nice to know what scopes you review that have a useable centre dot back at 12-18x

I have the Tract Toric ELR 4.5-30x56 and an Athlon Cronus too. The difference is they are made in Japan vs China for the MPED and the Tract Toric ELR and Athlon Cronus have a lifetime warranty including their electronics illuminated reticles while the Match Pro ED only has a limited 5 year warranty on their electronics illuminated reticle and auto shut off and I really don't know if Bushnell even has the ability nor desire to even fix them past their 5 year limited warranty even if the customers are willing to pay to fix.

    I think I've asked before, but I'm not sure if you've answered. Your mil grid lines up well with most scopes, but is there any chance the discrepancy in tracking is due to the differences in what a milradian is as defined by various organizations? It can vary from between 6283.185 mils in a real unit circle, 6400 mils by NATO standards, or even 6000 in Warsaw Pact mils.

    • @commonsense5709
      @commonsense5709 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Snipershide did a recent review and found it was 1/10 of a mil off. It's a very good article to read as the MPED was tested against many other different brands of scopes in the sub $1000 category. Unfortunately the MPED ranked in last place in overall image quality compared to it's peers.

      They have very different warranties. Vortex has undoubtedly the best no questions asked VIP lifetime warranty vs Bushnells 5 year limited warranty on their electronics such as illuminated reticle and auto shut off timer if warranty matters to you when making your own decision to buy but there's other cheaper and better options available to buy from other brands as well with better lifetime warranties including their electronics.
      I personally don't like Chinese made Vortex products but their Japan made ones such as their Golden Eagle and Razor Gen 3s are great.
      I prefer better quality Chinese made scopes sold by other brands for around the same cost or even cheaper instead of the Bushnell MPED after already owning an MPED and comparing it to my Athlons and other cheaper priced scopes in it's class.
      I really do like Bushnell's older Japan and Philippines made scopes such as their Elites, Tacticals, and Legends though. Their quality were simply unbeatable for their cost. I just really worry about them not honoring their previous lifetime warranty since they don't have comparable Japan made and Philippines made replacements and I don't really like their current Chinese and Korean made scopes.

Chinese scopes have progressed to a point they may seem almost as clear as good Japanese made scopes but it's eye fatigue after constantly using them that will be the telltale sign of inferior glass. I really like the image quality of the Chinese Athlon Midas Tac 6-24x50 and Ares BTR Gen 2 4.5-27x50 and Meopta Optika 6 5-30x56 RD MRAD currently on sale for $699.99 at Scopelist and EuroOptic with free shipping. It's just about Athlon Cronus and Tract Toric and Delta Stryker quality level for only a fraction of the cost. The Meopta Optika 6 has a lifetime warranty including it's electronics just like the Athlons.
      When buying Japan (LOW) made scopes and European optics you are paying a higher price for better quality and reliability than Chinese made scopes.

    Hi brother, I just bought a Bergara 300PRC rifle and I want to set up a riflescope for a high range of distance. I am between two:
    MATCH PRO ED 5-30X56 RIFLESCOPE and VORTEX Strike Eagle 5-25x56 EBR-7C MOA. Are these two useful for this kind of rifle? I am in search of advice, if you can help. Thank you!

      @@CDOES The O6 is it's own thing, seems to not have any relation in build to anything else. I have one in 3-18x56 but no time behind the 5-30 or any new competitors in that price point. The O6 doesn't have locking windage, only elevation.

      The Meopta Optika 6 5-30x56 RD MRAD is currently on sale for $699.99 at Scopelist and EuroOptic with free shipping and both brand new and DEMO models are selling for the same price of $699.99. I have never seen them selling for this cheap before. They normally sell for around $1259. Good news they are not made in China at least I don't think so but you're getting way more equity in buying this Meopta that's for sure plus it has a lifetime warranty including electronics vs only 5 years for the Bushnell.

      Optika 6 5-30x56 RD MRAD currently on sale for $699.99 free shipping at Scopelist and EuroOptic it's a real no brain for sure. European scope vs Chinese scope selling for exactly the same price, it's you're choice. Plus Meopta has a lifetime warranty including it's electronics (illuminated reticle) vs 5 year Bushnell electronics warranty (illuminated reticle and shut off timer).

    I really appreciate your reviews and scope comparisons, but you appear to show side-by-sides of different scopes, taken at different times of the day and year, under different lighting conditions, and... at times... focused on different targets. The moment you stated that your Tract Toric video footage was taken while there was WILDFIRE smoke affecting the image I was like what?!? Don't get me wrong, I love your reviews. I know it is difficult, especially when multiple scopes are being compared at once, but I would really suggest comparing scopes side-by-side and at the exact same time, weather conditions, and focused on the exact same target/scene. Otherwise the image quality/sharpness/etc. comparisons are kind of moot.

    Athlon proved over a decade ago that China can produce top tier scopes. Many others have followed suit. This is just another great example. Who has the best optics reviews by far - C_DOES.

      Almost all of those scopes are produced in China, the name brands you often hear in the states are mostly just trading / import companies. Even some of the Japanese made scopes are actually produced by Chinese companies with production facility in Japan. I have a friend that worked in this industry and told me a lot of insights.
