    Another thing: Jesse is so connected with kids throughout the serie I think because the way he felt abandonded by his own family. He sees himself in those kids. This caring for kids in Jesse gives him a kind of innocence that is the total opposite of the path Walter is taking.

    Jesse doesn't really think about the consequences of his actions, but he meant well. Walter feels compelled to not "take a half measure" to help Jesse so he commits 100%, which is an interesting contrast to what Mike was trying to convey to him. I think Mike was getting him to commit to stop trying to help Jesse.

    You never, never give up on family! That line from Jane father when he talked to Walter in bar, still holds on how Walter sees Jesse.

    If you're gonna blame Jesse for indirectly leading to the kid's murder, you have to take the step and blame Walter for it as well since he didn't have to tell Gus. If he didn't, those two dealers would have died from poisoning and Gus wouldn't have known it was Jesse.

      Jesse was hired to cook meth not be Robbin hood in the drug trade honestly Jesse has no business talking about business side of the drug trade if he just shut his mouth and cooked maybe last 2 episodes of season 3 n all of season 4 might of played out differently m

      I would say there would still be that suspicion. Since they would both die near the same time. I would say Walter made the smarter decision by having that meeting, however, Walt's main flaw in the criminal world in the first couple of seasons is he believes criminals make decisions bound to both morals and logic. He thought the drug dealers would let Tomas go (bound by their morals), but instead they killed him. This is when Walter realizes that criminal actions are driven by mostly paranoia and benefits. Which he uses against Gus in the coming episodes.

    I don't think Jesse is bad for caring, that's part of his character, he loves and protects kids. Jesse also understood that Tomas would be killed or life in prison if it didn't stop. I don't blame him for acting emotional once he found out it was Andrea's brother.

  • @quit8180
    @quit8180 ปีที่แล้ว +34

    You can’t blame Jesse for Tomas dying. The only reason Jesse’s plan didn’t work is bc Walt snitched. If your thought process is he indirectly killed him, then you would have to blame Walt bc he’s the one who brought it to Gus’ attention. But I don’t think Jesse made a stupid decision this episode he wanted to get rid of them bc they killed his friend and manipulated Andrea’s little brother into killing hm.

  • @Col_Fragg
    @Col_Fragg ปีที่แล้ว +4

    Jessie is 1000% correct. Walter realizes this only all too late. When Walter sees the TV news about the death of Tomas, he has an epiphany and realizes that the whole meeting to keep the peace was a charade for Walter's benefit. Gus had Tomas killed as part of a scheme to get rid of Jessie. Gus knew that he can't simply murder Jessie without losing Walter. However, if Jessie gets himself killed in a shootout with the street dealers, then Jessie is out of the picture and Gus gets his way. Walter might wonder if Gus gave the order to kill Tomas but Gus will quite convincingly deny it.

  • @yakivpopavich
    @yakivpopavich ปีที่แล้ว +20

    You have to understand, Jesse had known Combo for a long time. And when Jesse made him part of the crew they were technically a gang together with Skinny Pete and Badger. Jesse's decisions lead to Combo selling on the rivals turf and getting killed, with a child being used by the opposition gang to take him out. Combo being killed was Jesse losing a member of his gang, and a friend. He wants to avenge him and do what he thinks is right for both Combo and the kid who was being used by the two rival dudes. Walter doesn't understand the crew or gang mentality and just saw Combo as a random dealer for their product. Where as to Jesse he was a friend and member of his gang.

  • @renzo9328

    Walter is connected to Jesse because he think of him as family but also I think he always runs to his rescue because he feels guilty about letting Jane die. When Jesse is craying in his arms in that junkie house and says to Walter "I loved her" thats when Walter realizes what he really has done to Jesse by letting Jane die.

    Lmaooooo y’all reaction. Look idc if Jesse was stupid (except doing the meth after having been clean for a couple of months was so sad). Jesse’s conscience kicked in after he believed he was the bad guy the whole time (mad at himself from Combo’s death, started doing the heroin, blamed himself for Jane’s death, tried to sell meth to rehab goers). Kids being abused, used, and neglected is Jesse’s breaking point. Does it work in the world of drugs? Not really.
    And you know why Walter keeps saving Jesse lol to use him, their trauma bonding, and because he has the guilt of Jane’s death so he feels like he owes him. Let’s see how y’all feel next season 😂😂😂 the show is flipped on it’s head the rest of the series.

    Honestly this is a tough question, who we agree with...
    But more than that, is the emotional stuff; It's easy to side with Walter here, to say it's the logical decision, but...if these 2 dudes killed my friend, I'm not sure the "logical decision" would matter much.
    Jesse isn't really thinking logically here, he's just thinking "They killed my friend, they have to go".

    Jesse want revenge for the killing of his childhood friend, the killer is a kid and the brother of the girl he's dating, and it was Gus who was in control of it all. I feel anyone in his situation would have a hard time looking past that and stay in business with the same people. The kid would not be dead if Jesse had gone through with his plans, would be him or the two guys, it was the meeting that killed the kid.

    It’s all a catch 22. It wasn’t Jesse’s fault that Thomas was in the situation he was in. His manipulations to save the boy caused Walter to get involved who will stop at nothing to get what he wants. At the moment Walter sees that Jesse being alive and healthy is aligned with what he wants. Or maybe he just truly cares about Jesse at this point. Manipulations upon manipulations. Part of the dense plot structure that leaves so many innocent people dead in its wake.

  • @MrGox
    @MrGox ปีที่แล้ว

    Haha i love your reaction to ending. I was also confused about Jesse. Doesnt he realize who Gus is. Why does he treat him like some street dealer, like he doesnt have whole chain, and a lot of ppl working for him. He either underestimate everyone around him, or he just doesnt care about his well-being. It would make sense to go after those two dealers after "they" killed his friend Combo, instead of now after they killed the brother of the girl he barely knows.
