Stabbed several times, had to kill his mother, and got haunted with it several times. Had to get the blades used to kill his original family to save his dying son, the man went to so much. But yeah Marcus has gone through a lot.
Tai was most definitely one of if not the saddest death on here, Marcus and Dom always talking about how he could survive anything and could fight an army by himself. Then the locust capture him while he was protecting the drop to the hollow, torture the man until he was crazy out of his mind and killed himself. It’s so sad
It would have been cool if you found him slaughtering tons of grubs and it was and if you could to him in a timed sequnce he could have survived man now I want a gears two remaster
In my opinion he somehow knew that he was going too turn like Maria did, so before he became like here he just killed himself, it wasn’t the torture it was him knowing that.

Reyna was just yet another generic girlboss who ruined the Speaker's chance at being another RAAM by Girlbossing all over him. Should have established her badassery, then had the Speaker utterly destroy her.
Ben carmine and Dom were definitly the saddest, especially because i always played the game splitscreen with a mate, and i was DOM. I hated it when he died.
I played with mom and I was Marcus and when mom saw Dom died she said I don't wanna play this no more and started crying I can't blame her tho cuz he was funny cool brave and super respectful as hell #DominicSantiagoLivesForever

Kim's death in Gears 1 still gets me. He was a decent officer, who fought bravely, and drew fire from his men during an ambush. He took on RAAM with his bayonet, and died a soldier. Underrated character with competence and dignity.
I played the series with my dad, and I always played as Dom. I cry every time I see it now, but when I was like 6 I just thought "Man, now I have to play as the chick?"

To be honest when it comes to a death scene I find it's the music that really hits me via the death of a memorable character, unless the death itself has very strong potential to a sacrifice. Dom's death did them both, he sacrificed himself to not only be with Maria but to save his friends/team/Brothers&Sisters he had no choice, none would have made it if he didn't make a bravery soldier decision there.....Marcus, Cole, Baird are still alive all thanks to him. Truthfully though, if I lost my wife to something like that and it kept eating me up from the inside for years I'd eventually do it too
Tai's death hits a lot harder now than it did when I was younger playing Gears 2. I didn't fully understand that he was just completely broken mentally. I do now.
What a lot of people dont understand is that when Dom found Maria is that he saw her the way he always sees/thinks about her, until Marcus pointed out that what he was seeing wasnt real, and thats her beauty. Which makes both of their deaths sadder because his last thought is obviously about her and I'm pretty sure what kept Maria alive during Process was her thoughts about Dom.
Gears had some of the best voice acting and grit. The story made it so connecting to the audience. It will forever be a trademark. Seeing all these deaths just brings back the memories. These games will forever live with me🔥⚡️

Then in gears 5 we sell Jack kill a huge ass worm never forget bairds tone of voice when he saw what jack was doing made me go wtf are you doing jack then seeing jack go inside the monster made me scream nooooooooo don’t do this jack I had to stop the game at that point because it felt like losing Dom again dells death was a shock and very upsetting but losing Jack well yes fully upgraded after spending hours getting him upgraded only to see Jack become melted down scrap

Seeing a character you came to love have to put down someone they love, that they spent so long looking for, because they where tortured and lobotomized to be slaves. And his tearful goodbye and regret of having to do it to give her mercy from everything. Then Dom sacrificing his life to save his friends and comrades. Punctuated by the talk Dom has in the cemetery, then the quick words he has before the end and Marcus wanting nothing more than to charge in and pull his best friend out.

Dom was the saddest death of all time so far, but for me, it was Tai. My favorite gears of all time and it was sad to see him die. He could always survive everything, but epic games always makes sad scenes

And immediately after that cutscene Kait has and whoever you choose to live have friggin talon pistols. Not to mention Jack was nowhere to be found.
Dom's death is one of the most iconic moments in gaming history. I don't think any of us really expected something like that with that much impact and emotion to come from Gears of War when we started playing the first game back in 2006.

Dom was the saddest death of all time so far, but for me, it was Tai. My favorite gears of all time and it was sad to see him die. He could always survive everything, but epic games always makes sad scenes

liamy _117 It’s funny because the cutscenes like “oh you lost your lancer because it fell” but in reality you have 3 guns one that is in a friggin holster. And immediately after that cutscene Kait has and whoever you choose to live have friggin talon pistols. Not to mention Jack was nowhere to be found.
Dom's death is one of the most iconic moments in gaming history. I don't think any of us really expected something like that with that much impact and emotion to come from Gears of War when we started playing the first game back in 2006.
