Yep, if a new one is available that would be the way to go. The vehicle in question (IE: 87 squarebody truck with a 4.3L V6) had no viable replacements. It was an unusual combination when it was new and 40 years later didn't improve the situation. Weld is still holding up!
@@rdr9519 only the engine cold. The bolts need to be nice and hot so you could run the motor for a minute or so to warm them but i doubt that’s enough, also your hands will get hot working

You do this so it prevents the crack from spreading from under the weld
You have one of those curley americAAAn cartoon voices !
Would this be the same type of manifold that is found in a 97 Camry?
I I got the exhaust manifold off my 454 motorhome I'd damn sure put a new one on.

Why not show the video of all the fun getting the manifold off without breaking bolts That’s the really hard part
You’re supposed to warm it up first (the whole engine if you can) so the metal can unsqueeze from the bolts
@@EGGSHL so it breaks easier when cold?

Thanks!!
Is it safe to weld it on truck? If the crack is on top ?
I wouldn't. But if you weld, remove the battery terminals.
Thank you
Absolutely. Thanks for watching!
If you have a crack it makes the car take a bit to get going and the sound is way louder than normal. It sounds like a growl.
So it takes time to speed up? My car takes time to speed up
@@kevinfades what’s your rpm when you start speeding up? With a busted exhaust manifold it’s loud as hell and will go to 3000 before it shifts over
@@supervegito8340 it not loud it just take time to speed up to 30 rpms go up decent
Did you get that shirt from a South Jersey car show ?
I think so …south Jersey represent!
