    A meal in the woods from two food items, everything carried in your pockets.
    A good excuse to eat out in the outdoors and make a movie if you feel like it.
    Me and the dog really enjoyed the afternoon out and hope to eat out many times this New Year.
    Best wishes to everyone.

    Like the shared camp too ! Makes a change for people to add rather than destroy! Nice one 👌🏽👍🏻

      You are right but the reason we do not make it too elaborate is because it is rather prone to being destroyed, just the way things are. Very best wishes. Chris.

      They do but we have a very diverse lot of woods not to far from where I live, this was the boggy wood as you can tell by all the moss, which has it's uses of course 😂

      @GrasshopperOutdoors  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes I remember when your camp got so exposed, here much effort would just get destroyed but that is how it is here so basics have to do. Just got in from a blizzard and the dog loved it, nothing like getting home after being out in the elements. Best wishes

    Haha, crazy how much stuff you fitted in your pockets! It kept coming out!
    Nice you share your little campspot with other unknown people.
    You dog was nice and great she got a little snack! But you were eating them yourself!
    Your egg sandwich looked pretty good! And yes, maybe share your sandwich with the dog after eating her biscuits!
    I like the chair and table as well! 😉
    Have a great Sunday! Kaat
    All the best! Kaat

    • @GrasshopperOutdoors
      @GrasshopperOutdoors  ปีที่แล้ว

      All the best Kaat, yes and I did not mention the inside pocket of the jacket which is reserved for the phone and larger battery I used for videoing. You can easily get a large rabbit or pheasant in the poachers pocket, but only if I find one dead on the road which I do every now and again. I really missed having my rucksack and kept thinking I had left something behind somewhere, as I usually have it with me for bringing stuff back just as much as taking stuff out. 🤑😘

    Hi Chris, nice job on the challenge mate, egg and sprats, can't be bad, and it's surprising what you can fit into wax jacket pockets when you have to. Thanks for another interesting video mate, stay safe, best wishe's to you and your's, Stuart UK.

    • @GrasshopperOutdoors
      @GrasshopperOutdoors  ปีที่แล้ว

      You are right about what you can fit into the jacket, I did not mention the inside pocket which I reserve for my phone, used as the camera to take the video. I can't usually justify/afford a brand new jacket but I just found out they dropped the price by £60 so you never know, I might possibly be able to bring myself to getting a new one. Best wishes for the New Year.

      @@GrasshopperOutdoors Hi Chris, go on treat yourself , at that kind of discount sounds a good deal, and they seem to last a long time ,so you'll get the wear out of it I should think. Of course we hardly ever throw away an old jacket, but save it for rough jobs, just in case, lol. Happy new year to you and your's, let's hope it's a good one, or at least no worse than the last one, that'd do me, Atb mate Stuart UK.

      @@stuartlockwood9645 I probably will, but I have two in decent nick, just a size too small for the winter, but OK for the summer. They stand the thorns reasonably well, but I do subject them to a lot of wear and tear. They do still look half decent when covered in mud and patched, a bit like a Land Rover Defender :-)

    We figured that some of us ole bushcraft friends needed a pick me up and a small challenge out in the woods. Seems everyone is out of sorts lately. Good one there Chris! Even something simple is good! To be honest I didnt even know Rick was going to do a challenge! Glad you were able to get out and have some fun! Many thanks for the challenge, I get out every single day with the dog but it is always good to have a different mission and it was a while since I had visited that little camp. It is not worth doing too much too it though as there are too many folk about, but in the summer when the Himalayan Balsam is grown up it is hard to find unless a little path gets worn in. Our freezing conditions and snow have turned to rain and mud now but I expect things will turn solid again before winter is out. All the very best, TC, Chris

    A decent two item lunch there Chris enabled by your jacket that's like a tardis. Maan, you can get some stuff in there. Thank goodness for poachers pockets and all. I liked your fire and camp set up - see it when it's overgrown eh? Gotta say I wouldn't like to be your dog. I'd feel to much of a pest all the time. He gets decent treats. That's it for now Have a good day and new year. Mark

    • @GrasshopperOutdoors
      @GrasshopperOutdoors  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks Mark, It is one of a few places I might stop for a brew. In the summer the himalayan balsam grows up and totally hides it, but ther is no use putting too much work in due to the amount of use the woods get. My dog lives the life of Riley 😂 All the best for the New Year

    The Dog thinks it is fair game, you steal her SPRATS so she's having your Slice of Bread. Was that a liquid coffee carried in the small bottle? Did you ever have that Chicory extract CAMP coffee in your house? We always had a bottle tucked away in the makeshift Pantry under the stairs.

    • @GrasshopperOutdoors
      @GrasshopperOutdoors  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The coffee, no and no, to get the coffee granuales in and out of the bottle I just mixed them with some warm water and added a bit of honey. I did collect some horse hoof fungus and was going to have a fungus tea but I will save that for another fire.
