Hidden blade combat is back for sure they already said she uses her dagger with it . There's also sword combat aside from dagger combat like the old times where we could use whatever weapon we want.
as long as the stealth is actually good with a little parkour this game could be incredible

@@blacksheep6415 there are, check the sync points near the first city you enter in ac origins. the one on top of the mountain takes over 2 minutes to climb.

Ubisoft always nails these AC cinematics, it looked sick! Really love how they brought back the pivot blade too, that’s so cool. Hyped to see some gameplay soon!

No, instead Ubisoft spends their time making the game and researching the historical setting they are crafting their world around. Pretty sure they do have a say in what is shown in the trailer as seen in the fact they stated the things shown I'm the trailer can be done in the game.
All the information they've provided on the stealth and parkour definitely sounds promising.
And they even said all the moves Yasuke used in the trailer are actually ones you have in the game.
I keep hearing what move yasuke gone do in reality is nice but what about parkour is he gone able to parkour at least I don’t care if it’s flashy I just wanna be able to climb an not keep switching to characters

@@zuz2366 there’s no way they’d put that specific action In the trailer after fans have been asking for it for 9 years. The Ubisoft pattern is to have some features, then abandon them, then come back to them to make old things seem fresh. It’s actually kind of smart but not exactly good for the player. They do it with r6 too.

Syndicate was a downgrade to Unity is every regard and let me explain to you how.
They stripped all the advanced mechanics of Unity parkour to make it "less glitchy" instead of fixing the glitches and improving the parkour.
They simplified the advanced combat of Unity that required timing with rolls and counters into a button mash.
They made the characters a complete joke, incapable of taking a situation seriously. No depth, no quality, though Arno was no better in that regard but at least he was serious about situations.
The mission design was horrendous, Jacob who is the muscle head and has combat focused skills had majority stealth missions where as it was vice versa for Evie.
Odyssey? Good lord that thing makes me want to puke. I don't need to explain why that game is utter trash, you can just find out why on youtube.
You aren't an "Assassin's Creed" fan which is why to you those games seemed great. Do not go around assuming all AC fans are nostalgia blinded when it is Ubisoft who abandoned us first.

He was only one year in Japan, this weapon holder for samurais, and you need at least 10years to learn Kyudo (japanese bowshooting) - but with this AC Fantasy game it's ok, even when he starts a drone to get Info from the castle...

I personally am not a fan of the RPG Assassin's creed games...but I'm feeling hopeful for this one.
I hope that ubisoft has learned from some of their shortcomings and criticisms of the last few games to bring us an RPG game that still honors the history of the series.
With the new engine taking advantage of current gen hardware and the resurrection of some old features that never reached their potential, I feel like this could finally be the game Ubisoft has been trying to make for a long time.
The disappointment of them fumbling on their most highly anticipated/requested setting would be massive.
They're gonna deliver this time. I have faith.

I pre ordered as I love AC since AC1 first launched. None of the games ever let down. None are honestly bad. So I feel confident I'll enjoy myself playing this. Again I love AC. The games, the books, comics, the movie was......meh, even have the board game.

If you notice in the trailer there is a lady who hands a paper to Naoe (possibly a target) Following the idea of clan, the assassins are possibly a clan and they were killed in the village,I think there will be some assassin's but they are hiding in plain sight

I’m glad I’m not the only one who noticed not much assassins in the trailer. Quebec is known for making a AC game without any Assassins (which is bizarre to me it’s like having a Spider-Man game without a Spider-Man) but we’ll have to wait and see. It would be very interesting to see the Japanese brotherhood and how they operate compared to the other branches of the creed

I was thinking since ac shadows will be taking place 55 years after ezio died in 1524, I'm wondering if the characters especially Naoe will be talking about ezio and how her brotherhood was inspired by ezio's story and teachings. It will be an amazing reference about ac 2, brotherhood, and revelations
Or just having Shao Jun in the game sharing a story about a young man that unified the people in renaissance will be a great callback to the good old days of assassin's creed

Super excited for this and i have not been excited for an AC game since Black Flag and the last one i bought was Origins man its making me wanna replay Ghost Of Tsushima again too
All the hints in this trailer got me real excited to see gameplay and notice at the beginning how Naoe vanishes into the darkness/ fog and ubisoft stated with the season changes like prone assassinate in snow but i really hope fog can be used for stealth during the cold seasons without the bushes and leaves, we would rely on the shadows

Yasuke doesn't have any hidden blades on him, if he was indeed in the Brotherhood... is he gonna be like Bartholomew from the Italian Brotherhood who just mow down everything in his path?

The Brotherhood is an organization, with people taking up different roles. Not everyone was a field agent, and I think that espionage was the biggest part. Yasuke might not be nimble, but he is still an aristocrat, and in Oda Nobunaga's circle of trust, which allows him to have access to info barely anyone would have access to. Imagine him basically having Watch Dogs Legion or Hitman-like stealth, where his 'disguise' is what gets him unnoticed.
He won't be getting a hidden blade just watch the video ubisoft released yesterday where the devs introduce the characters. They clearly said he will not get a hidden blade. So maybe he'll just use heavy weapons. I'm sure he won't even get a hood.
@@maxm.m.7219this is important to note. Mario was just a fighter as well. Even Machiavelli, he did not fight nor do we see him use a hidden blade. He seems to be more of a politician rather than a fighting Assassin. Same goes for Mirabeau in Unity. We also see informants in AC 1 who part of the brotherhood. The brotherhood is bigger than just people with hoods stabbing others. It is grass roots organizing where there are many different roles.
Also could be that Naoe is the Assassin and Yasuke is just an ally or supporter. Weird anyway if your game is called AC and your protagonist is a tank

I try to avoid leaks as much as possible so I can be surprised as I'm playing through the game. So the trailer genuinely had me hyped cause the only thing I knew was that it was set in Japan
2:40 I bet Yasuke's stealth takedown weapon will be the wakizashi in place of the hidden blade, he shown with one sheathed alongside his katana in the trailer and all the promotional material thus far. I figured it'll be similar to the Spear of Leonidas in Odyssey, the dagger in AC Jade and of course the tanto in Ghost of Tsushima

Super excited to use some cool shinobi stealth tools and hope she has climbing claws. I’d also recommend checking out the collectors edition which has a map showing the region the game’s set
You should do a series going into depth for each protagonist. Their strengths, weaknesses, character development and how much they contributed to the creed overall.
I personally think it would be really cool if they leaned into the differences in playstyle between the 2 playable characters.
Say there's a lord that needs to be killed. The Shinobi character can do stuff like employing spies, scouting the area, disguising as things like geishas, feeding guard dogs meat to make them like you, etc.
Meanwhile Yasuke, being a samurai, can just walk in and demand an audience, if he fails to get an audience he can go around the lords lands and do some knight questing by slaying problematic beasts, clearing bandits, or getting a gift for the lord. Once he's in the building he can talk to the lord, and either persuade him into an action like hunting a dangerous bear only to leave him to get mauled, tell him about a dangerous bandit hive, or pursue a lord that you already talked to and schemed with. Alternatively you can also challenge them to a duel. This potential Yasuke gameplay loop can also be a great way to test the waters for more games where you play as a templar and do templar type things to do objectives. I think this would be very cool because I don't think theres many games out there that focus on social manipulation like that beyond some surface level stuff and cutscenes.
Yes an they need to add the instrument of the first will cause they been around they juno cult they pretty interesting they was a threat to the brotherhood an the Templar they one goal is to bring juno back to rule the world an take them to they true home
I'm betting that Yasuke is gonna be of the templar, and Naoi won't even knows it until the end of the game, where it will be either Assassin vs Templar where both will try killing each other, or it's gonna be Assassin x Templar, Arno and Elise situation, but fingers crossed for this game, even with all the bs ubi has been giving us
I think Yasuke is just there to help Naoe. So he is a templar but of supporting role. As for the final battle, we don't know for sure if they're gonna go up against one another or not
@@theadmiral4157 ikr, the trailer itself seems to throw us at that direction, but personally if it's Elise Arno situation again, I'd be disappointed, if it's that but with the final battle, that's gonna be some of the most intense shit Ubi has ever pulled, worth of AAA title
I know it’s something small but when I saw the shots of mountains I knew that parkour is still taking a backseat. Hopefully the combat and exploration and music are good enough to make up for it.
I wouldn't be too quick to jump to conclusions until more is shown. They've said that the mountain ranges are to provide contrast to the castles and towns. They've said that the castles are quite massive, which sounds like a lot of parkour fun to be had.
Did you guys know the future games were kind of leaked in assasin creed 4.during a conversation between abstergo entertainments top executives someone tells the future games for example assasin creed unity assasin creed shadows it also tells some past stories like assasin creed revelations assasin creed 3 and assasins creed 2. You can find this conversation during a mission where you go to meet the CCO Oliver garneau
I hope to see Ubisoft haven't dropped the faction ownership of areas or villages in this one, given that it's feudal Japan it would be a good game for the feature from Odyssey to return. It would definitely make sense as well from a gameplay standpoint when playing as a warrior. I too am more inclined to stealth so I could imagine sneaking my way through the area and completing sub-objectives to weaken the faction's hold as one character, then letting the other take part in battles or skirmishes. It would play perfectly well and properly encourage you to play as both characters (else I will probably be sticking to the stealthiest character by default 90% of the time).
the only way i can think of bring the assassins and templars into this game is that Naoe has been serving the assassins and Yasuke has been serving the templars this entire time and when they both figure out about their orders they both realise both of their sides are wrong and they both fight each outher at the end and you get to pick who to fight either Noae or Yasuke and both have each a assassin and templar ending depending on who you choose...... I could be completely wrong and this is just some random samurai and shinobi game

Oda already exist in AC and his history is already linked to a specific Assassin.

The Assassin Yamauchi Taka subsequently killed Nobunaga on 21 June 1582, when the daimyō's vassal Akechi Mitsuhide betrayed and attacked him at Honnō-ji in Kyoto. Taka retrieved the Sword and brought it to Liu Yan, who transported it to China. After Nobunaga's death, his vassal Toyotomi Hideyoshi took over the mantle of conquering the land.

I just read the wiki and there’s quite an inconsistency here. It says that Nobunaga comes into possession of the Sword of Eden, but not sure how this occurs. The lore tells us that the Sword of Eden was placed in the secret chamber in Paris by Jacques de Molay’s advisor in 1307. Was it somehow was taken from there and brought to Japan some 270 years later and then to China and then returned to Paris later for Germain to find it toward the end of AC Unity? I know the lore says there are other swords of Eden but it also says their location is unknown.
@@J.F.331 I think this refers to the sword of eden that Genghis Khan have. It looks different from the one we saw in AC2 and Paris, but I don't see any information about where it went after his death. Only that hes grandson kept it, so it looks more real to coming to Japan.
@@mrjhong7413yep. Pretty sure the sword of Eden went unwittingly to Japan. Khoblun Khan, the grandson of Genghis Khan, at some point went to Japan and tried to conquer it. So yeah it's possible it just happened to have been brought to japan
AC cinematic trailers always get me hyped, and what little we’ve heard about the game sounds awesome too. I’m really excited for AC Shadows, but I’m trying not to get my hopes too high. I like that we can choose who to play as for the black box missions, hopefully there’s plenty of those. Although I’m guessing there’ll be certain missions where we have to play as a particular character, but I’m really hoping Naoe doesn’t get sidelined like Evie did in Syndicate. Also is slightly concerning that the Assassins aren’t shown or mentioned really in the trailer, and the devs seem to be exclusively referring to Naoe as a shinobi, rather than an Assassin. But I guess we’ll just have to wait and see. Hopefully it’s not a long wait until we see some gameplay
It looks fun, I’m looking forward to seeing the gameplay segment to get a feel for the game.
In regards to any mention of the Templars, in the trailer you can see the Templar cross on the masts of the Portuguese ships as Yasuke is speaking.

The creed not mentioned is a bit weird, but the opponents not named Templars may not be a problem. That name fits more to the western hemisphere, and maybe the east have something more fitting. They all came from the Order of Ancients for sure.
Japan at the time was heavily influenced by the Portugese, who arrived a few decades before the game takes place. They tried to establish catolicism and trade with the nation. It's so easy to write the Templars into this plot.
Lore wise Oda Nobunaga was an ally of the Assassin's but he got a hold if a sword of Eden and that changed, so the brotherhood sent Yamauchi Taka to assassinate him.
So to say this I think (even though they aren't shown) The Templars infiltrated Nobunaga's court and sent Yasuke and other samurai after the brotherhood in Iga.
Yasuke is technically a servant of a missionary and was later given to nobunaga as a bodyguard. So he's actually a templar

really hope the stealth is the primary focus considering the setting and title of the game. considering they have 2 dual protagonists where they obv has different playstyles, ubisoft is definitely trying to cater to both sides of the fandom
This game looks promising, especially the gameplay leaks about seasonal changes, stealth and the difference between the 2 characters. Just hoping the gameplay executes everything well.
Could be an AC 3 situation, where all the assassins are either dead and buried or pushed out of the land.

If anything, the creed is in here a little bit. He’s right though, would be nice to see the Brotherhood feature heavy in the game

I really really hope this is good, great even. I also hope that at the beginning of the game we will play as both characters on and off, and when they team up we could choose or switch between them in the mission. Stealth also seems interesting, I’m excited for the grapple hook and the dynamic weather.
And as someone who beat every game with just the hidden weapons, i will be rocking the hidden blade the whole time.

As someone who’s enjoyed all the AC games to varying degrees, I’m quite excited for this new one. Between Quebec working on it AND a new engine being used, I’ve no doubt it’ll look spectacular. Sure, let’s wait for full excitement until after a gameplay reveal and getting our own hands on it, but I suspect it’ll turn out to be a solid entry in the series. (Also, cheers to you Master Assassin, I appreciate your videos and takes ✌🏻)

After watching the dev breakdown video I am really looking forward to this game
The assassins probably will have a major role in this game, just like in Valhalla trailer we had nothing that had the brother hood except the hidden blade.
Valhalla had assassin's as a back drop , the story more focused on the Isu and Ivor's journey. So yeah, this guy's concern is legit, cause Ubisoft loves to avoid assassin templar interaction in their newer mainline games.
Supposedly, Yasuke will have access to bows and arquebus firearms. Naoe will have shuriken and weapons like the kusarigama.
All I want is for the combat aspect to not be like every other samurai game. It would also help to not have to level them both up like in syndicate, I want one level up bar that unlocks stuff for both of them. Other than that, it looks pretty good!

from what i have seen the japanese brotherhood should be very young at this point as it was formed in the mid 16th centery when this game takes place so hopfully thats why it hasnt been really touched upon just yet.
I feel like this game has a lot of potential. As long as Naoe is in fact part of the brotherhood and that also is a substantial part of the game.
Edit: I really hope the soundtrack will be good as well

I think the thing that Excites me the most is The New Engine, Lowkey Convincing me that shadows might have a different feel and gameplay from Origins to Mirage but i doubt it. I really hope this game is good and makes me get back into the series as i havent loved AC since syndicate

There is quite a bit information concerning the Japanese Brotherhood on the Assassins Creed Wiki especially for the time period of the game. The Assassins will have to play a bug role in this game if Ubisoft is be consistent with the lore already written.
We are told the that Jesuit missionary Francis Xavier was also a templar (1549). It is said that the Assassins prevented a lot of the Templar influence for almost 30 years. By 1578 the templars inducted the daimyo Uesugi Kenshin who was then assassinated by Hattori Hanzo. By the 1590’s the Templars recruited Kunoichi Mochizuki Chiyome who was once an assassin but became a Templar. Not sure how many years Shadows is going to cover.
I just hope we see gameplay soon. That is all I want to see.

Basim Eivor vs Naoe Yasuke would be cool
There should be AC and Templar order since the game is taking place in the 1600s or 1500s(I don't remember) but both the creed and order were already established by then. So we should see them otherwise it would make no sense why Naoe wears a hood. Maybe after her village gets raided, she joins the creed, while Yasuke will probably start off as a templar but gradually move towards becoming an assassin.
definitely go watch Shogun fx. Its story takes place around the same time as Shadows and features similar story elements such as a foreigner discovering Japan for the fist time
Im still not sure about Yasuke, Ubi says he is historically acurate but i have my doubts, Yasuke was a servant and retainer (not a Samurai) to Oda Nobunaga , did Ubi choose Yasuke for "more Diverse"??? Idk it is weird imo...
Of course, it's the only excuse they could have to put a black character in the game. And you know what would happen if there wasn't any black character. Sweet Baby Inc. and people like them would boycott the game for being racist. Though I think Sweet Baby Inc. had its share in making this game.
Retainers to a figure like Oda is a very very high level. Its not clear if hes samurai, but to be a retainer for Oda, it could have been a real possibility. At the very least, If Oda wasnt killed, Yasuke almost certainly would have been Samurai

Sweet baby Inc had a hand in “consulting” Ubisoft with what they “need” to add to this game, so obviously they did this because of their DEI agenda/narratives, but Ubisoft will hide behind the excuse of “historical accuracy” to save face.

I heard a lot of people aren't happy with the two characters we can play as. I say that it doesn't matter. Play who you want, and if you don't wanna play either, don't get the game. I know I'll play as Naoe because I love stealth. I think Yasuke will be interesting, though. Not a lot of people are happy with him too.
Of course our main will be naoe...but since yasuke will be playable as well...i will enjoy butchering guards with the maze

If they wanted to use a real person there's thousands of actual Japanese people they could have choose, and yet they chose Yusuke. I mean it's obvious why they did it. Now depending on how they incorporate him into the story I think it could definately work and be fine, but it's the choice was politically motivated theres no going around that. I'd say being a African American in Japan would be pretty easy to spot you in a crowd, but then again in most games i feel it would be pretty easy to spot some guy in a all white cloak so can't really try and use logic on that one. Will have to wait and see how it all pans out I'm sure some people won't buy it but it's hard to tell if they were people that were going to buy it anyway. Not really anyway to seperate people who have never played a single AC game in their life versus someone who has played them all on twitter
@@ryanpower1291 I think the choice of Yasuke is very controversial. It would have likely been best to make Yasuke a side character, like most historical figures are in AC games. I think instead having a real japanese samurai would have been a better choice. Sneaking would have not been an option for Yasuke's character regardless because his playstyle is meant to be a fighter and a tank. Was the choice of Yasuke political? I don't know, but if it is it's a scummy move from Ubisoft. I'm not one to judge without evidence lol
Everyone has been yappin about Yasuke being black and all that. Meanwhile, I’m over here as an Assassin’s Creed fan wondering if this game will be an actual assassin’s creed game. Will it be like Valhalla? We had eivor as a Viking, Keep in mind that this game is being made by odyssey devs. Yasuke as a samurai, Naoe as a shinobi…. What happened to being an actual assassin?? Will Yasuke become an assassin or will we just play as samurai all the way through? What will this even bring to the creed?? 😒😒😒
Although it was initially meant to be a DLC, i had high hopes for AC Mirage and it fell underwhelmingly short. That i recognize was my fault for setting the bar so high for a smaller project but i certainly hope Assassin's Creed Shadows is larger, more up to date, good graphics, good combat and scenery.

So I've been having a theory about how the brotherhood is going to be in the game. My assumption is that the Japanese brotherhood have been hunted down and wiped out permanently without a trace, but Naoe and Yasuke will revive it by discovering some kind of old ruins or old scrolls of the brotherhood. I think they will be the founders of the Japanese brotherhood of assassin's.
I would love to watch next video if you can make one day tho

As someone who’s played ALOT of odyssey. I’m okay with sasuke not having the HB. It will help to make him feel even more different from na wei. I wonder if it’ll actually be like odyssey and he’ll just have something else to assassinate with.
