She is such an underrated character. She truly shows what it was actually like to be a girl in that time period for most. You were traded, ignored, and it caused some women to snap.
exactly! claude was such a strong character and no one seems to appreciate her, i was so glad she was happy at the end
Women weren't ignored especially if from higher status , Women weren't easily traded then again it was men who was as well , both men and women snapped . Women ruled empires , Had social status , inheritance and so on . You should learn more about history . Also , They had traded themselves for money for their family and for a better life .
Bitter Sweet I know a fair amount of history. I also know how it feels to be a lady in a higher position, you are trader for what you can do for your family. Women would only get to rule if they had no brothers, and women who took power for themselves are painted as the villain. Inheritance commonly only went to the two eldest sons, everyone else had to fend for themselves. Women married for “better lives” but that meant more wealth, it did not mean they weren’t horribly treated. Situations of abusive husbands happened all the time, and women had no choice but to stay by their husbands side unless they had enough power to destroy him. Of course the more social power you had, you could likely do a bit more to punish your abusive husband, but it was still a hard time where women had to be submissive.
@@schoolaccount6394 , Actualy you're incorrect . Your fair amount of history isn't enough and not completely accurate. Women would get to rule if chosen . It didn't matter wether a son died or not . If the king wanted his daughter to be Queen then she would be queen . There was always 2 ways a princess could be Queen which was being chosenad marriage which is the same for men . However , Most of the time it was men chosen simply because they valued women and men are 10x stronger and faster along with better mental endurance . So this was the reason men were chosen over a woman for the throne most of the time which there's nothing wrong with it .
@@schoolaccount6394 , Abusive husbands didn't happen frequently. Women did not have to be submissive either . In fact people even before this time period never liked it . However , To be disrespectful and out of line acting like a chihuahua is a no . Women had a duty to be strong , wise , care takers , self sufficient and 2nd leader. Honestly to be so weak and clumsy was frowned upon especially physically cause then you'd be mocked by both men and women and to be so submissive mentally you'd be mocked by both of the sex and nothing would be able to get done . They also could always leave but it was frowned upon cause they chose this route and made a vow . They decided it and agreed so they should stick with it 🤷🏿♀️
It's sad because she was accused of killing her sisters when they were babies and she literally didn't do it!!!
She looks like as if Teen Wolf’s Lydia and Allison had a child
Holy shit. After reading this comment I totally see it lol
And Christian Serratos ( Angela from Twilight)
I have never thought of that and now i can t stop thinking about It. You are so right.
Her chin dimple is iconic👏🏿
Cleft chin
Stunning
i have that
I have one. Everyone near me calls it a butt chin. Lol
I loved the show... despite of the inaccuracy of history. Which is something I will never understand since history can be more interesting without changing anything of it. Anyways personally I think it’s because they all are great at acting so I enjoyed it. I also felt so fond with Mary and Elizabeth. It’s truly difficult to rule a kingdom and at those times was even worse.
TH-cam really Thanos-Snapped my comment out of existence huh.
I can understand what you mean but I studied british history espechially about the rose war from shekeseperes henry 6th three parts knowing its not accuarant. sorry for poor english being a japanese.
Claude: **enters all smiley** is it true you’re terribly ill?
Catherine: **gasps sarcastically** you sound so hopeful
I loved her character because she was so funny and witty. Her garden boyfriend taught her how to defend herself and when she got married, her husband beat on her and then she kicked his ass. 😂😂😂
The story and acting are good, but the gowns throw me off. It’s hard to remember this is during the 16th century when the girls wear 21st century prom dresses. Claude of Valois’s actress is really good.
Yeah that and the instrumentals of the pop songs.... Just uuuuuggghh😤😂
I can see your perspective. But I love the gowns.
But Lola’s Dresses are quite accurate for a lady in waiting, as greers, but everyone elses is incorrect af
Have you ever been a a prom?
oh yes true
Yessss I love rose on reign and sanditon
me too!
I love Claude so much, I'm only halfway through the third season but I love her so much. She doesn't let anyone take her down, she is strong, fierce, badass but also loving and caring when it comes to the people she loves
There are people in the comments saying her acting is bad? Bitch where??! I think she does an amazing job and acts just as a spoilt royal should.
I 100% agree!
The real Claude wasn't like this. This Character is more similar to Catherine's youngest surviving daughter Marguirite, who I think is only mentioned in the series.
Well she appear 1min in the final of the show
@@ilyis_7490 ah, ok. I could never watch it as it was very inaccurate historically as were their clothes. Marguirite's story is very fascinating.
@@jamiemohan2049 Personnally i'm really not a big fan of this type of show who made want they want, but Claude is just so badass that you can just love her
@@ilyis_7490 I get what you're saying. Though me being a fan of the actual history makes me not as fond of the series, lol.
How can I know more of the actual history? Cause I love the series, but there's a lot of people who say it isn't historically accurate, and I'd like to know more of the actual history, but I just don't know how to look for it, I just basically search their names in the internet
I’ve did research and it’s really sad Most of Henry And Catherine children died before the age of 30! Francis was 16! Claude was 27! Charles was 23. Idk why but that makes me really sad even if I’ve never met them and that it was 500 years ago
exactly..
Love love this show. She’s one of my favorites she’s so stunning.
this may be weird but I love the way she talks
eggg yassss
I love Rose! She’s such an amazing actress!!! Want to see her in more shows, movies...maybe Sanditon Season 2 🤞🏻❤️
I remember that I liked her character a few years ago but for some reason I thought she was a brat but she’s truly a confident woman that loves herself and doesn’t want to follow royal protocol
I like her better as Charlotte in Sanditon. And yes, I watched both shows... both wonderful too! 👍🏽
J'adore Claude c'est l'un de mes personnages préférés
Magnificent!! Claude is one of my fave characters in reingn if not my FAVORITE one! 💜💜💜💜👑
This was amazing! Gave me goosebumps. Great editing. ❤
thank you so much!♥
I hate that they didn't stick to the true history. This is nothing like the real Claude's life.
I think they tried to build a Marguerite, who was flirtatious and promiscuous, yet nothing like this character, but for unknown reasons named her Claude, who was quite the opposite of this character. And actually all the characters had nothing to do with their historical counterparts. The entire series was very poorly written and painful to watch, even for a fantasy. Especially that part where a recently raped Mary requests the permission to have an affair "in order to heal", and her very loving husband and king allows it and covers her. So much cringe I can't even.
@@NightFeline they probably used Claude as Marguerite was a child when Francis was married to Mary. He also died while she was still young. The scandal didn't come until after Francis had died and Margot grew up. So, they had Claude (a historical sister of both Francis and Margot) and gave her Margots personality.
Maybe watch a documentary instead of historical fiction/fantasy.
I love her!
rose victoria williams is absolutely gorgeous especially in pink dresses 🤩
I didn't like her when she just arrived, but then I started to really love her 😍😍 especially with leith and then with narcisse's son (can't rem his name) 💙😀 She was so nice towards the end, sad we didn't get to see the rest of her story 😔
I remember Claude trying to bear a child with a man, and loving another named Leigh?
She was a funny characters that turned in a madure woman with an intense great love story. Good character.
Princess Claude reminds me of ‘Eleanor from the Royals’ ( Both have a bad relationship with their mothers initially, Strong, wild and beautiful)
It just clicked - she also just played Charlotte in Sanditon right?!
yes!
I recognised her the second I saw her in a Sanditon vid. Four and Claude
I didn’t realize Charlotte in Sanditon was Claude till I googled her . She had such a different role in Sanditon . Amazing actress
Yes. I was shook as well lol
This is true badass.
Beautiful.
This is so good... this is a great representation of humanity
Loved this character 💯
Love her❤️❤️
poor Leith he deserved a happy ending..
I always felt bad for Claude
I loveeeee her acting so good she's my favorite in sandinton
She is as good as Florence Pugh and she should play in movies as hers in 2020.
she in fact died very young none of the Royals seem to live a long life, she had 9 childrens & died of child birth the last one. I am not surprise the women in those days were just breading machine?????? not sure this changed much in mordern days????? I think she was only live 28 year when she died????? I do not envy theirs lives, tout much conspirosy, murders, jalousy, poison????
They seem to have taken some liberties with fact. The real Claude was married at age 11 to the Duke of Lorraine during the reign of her father. The marriage was considered to be a happy one. Claude also was a sickly child and suffered from a hunchback and a club foot. She had 9 children and died giving birth to the youngest at age 27. Her grief stricken husband, Charles, lived over 30 years longer but refused to ever remarry. She is credited with protecting her youngest sister, Marguerite, Queen of Navarre, during the St. Bartholomew's massacre. Even though Marguerite was a Catholic, she was at risk because of her marriage to the Protestant king of Navarre.
Claude's personality in the show was based on her younger sister Marguerite.
I love this show but a serious based on these people but more accurately( or as close as they can) would be nice to see.
It's based loosely on history! It's a drama... and no one wants to watch underage kids consummate their marriage to be pc. It's not meant to be literal.... it's a show, and a really good one
Can someone fill me in on the story with her killing her sisters?
she had two twin sisters and was really jealous of them because her mother was always with the babies, and the twins once ripped the roses of her favorite dress
basically one day the twins were found suffocated and in their throats were the same roses from her dress so everyone accussed claude immidiately, but it was actually her father's mistress who killed the girls out of spite
In reality, the twins died at birth, bit slightly after birth, due due complications from birth
Basically her father slept with the nanny, and when the nanny finally checked on the twins they had died in the crib. The nanny blamed Claude, whom she had overheard complaining about her ruined dress.
In reality, the first, Victoirewas born, but the second had difficulty being delivered. The baby had to have it's legs broken for it to be delivered, and was either dead at birth, or right after. The surviving twin died within a few weeks, possibly from the difficult birth or from some other cause ( which was unfortunately not unusual at the time). Claude, who was about 9 or 10 at the time, might not even be in the same place as her parents...it was common for royal children to be housed elsewhere, with their own staff looking after thrm
@@apsistj5828 The real Claude has nothing in common with this character anyways. This characters personality and actions seem based on Catherine's youngest surviving daughter Marguerite.
I love her chin
Claude has beauty and a strong figure but in her mother's eyes, her sister Elisabeth was her gem. She never killed her sisters. Joan was born stillborn and Victoire died a few weeks later
Beautiful
Claude ❤
Wow I binged Sanditon in one weekend, completely forgetting she was in Reign😭
I never heard of that show. Is it on Netflix? I want to see it now
@@Sirianstar10
Yes
@@harrypotter55forever Thanks
she looks like Rory!
Not really
Honestly what they should have done is first showed her on New Years towards the end of season 1 an her father should’ve been the one to tell her that she was to marry the Duke of Lorraine young and handsome he was actually they called him in history and Leeza should’ve been in here until the last episode before the last then married King Phillip like that’s my point of view of how they should’ve done it but should’ve stick with Claude not wanting to marry but had to anyways. It would’ve made this more interesting
i think it is through her that catherine and henris line lives on today
I would love to see her and Helena Bonham carter together in a film or series 🤩
She reminds me of young Alexis Bledel.
This is wonderfullllll😵❤️💙👑
P.S Can you make a teen wolf girls video
i would love to! do you have anything specific in mind? :)
loveisblind Well you can make a video for the girls od teen wolf(lydia, allison, malia, kira) and put some of their scenes in it but you should make it based on the song you decide to use
@@calimeroo636 so like a multifemale but with teen wolf girls only?
loveisblind Yess💗
Out of all of the characters she had the most character development from a spoiled brat who was never really wanted to a strong clever royal
Did she end up with someone? I didn’t finish the whole series.
Prissy Meadows yes, narcisse’s son luc
tennie thank you 💙
In real life, she married Duke Charles III of Lorraine. It was a very happy marriage and they had many children. Unfortunately, Claude died in childbirth at the age of 27. The emperors of Austria from the House of Habsburg-Lorraine (and Marie-Antoinette) are her descendants.
Funny detail: Claude's father-in-law, Duke Francis I of Lorraine, was the guy who was betrothed to Anne of Cleves before she married Henry VIII of England. Yes, everything is connected.
libiusperseus wow thanks for the info!
Wait she’s doesn’t end up with Leith? 😭
you guys realize that this isn’t a historical documentary but an adaptation of life. i know it’s annoying that the dresses and the story and exactly like real life but i don’t think they were ever intended to be

what series is it???
Reign
a cute brat !
Too bad the only man who truly loves her died.
No he didn't
Elektra Abundance if u finished the series you'd know he didnt
Leith didn't die. He went missing but when he came back Claude was married to Luc Narcisse (Lord Narcisse's son). The two tried to reconcile their relationship despite of being married but Leith couldn't take it and married someone else. Luc Narcisse loves Claude very much and he was even willing to let her cheat if that means she'd be happy.
@@yanaaffiliates1906 omg this is a major spoiler 😂 haven't finished watching season 4 tho
1 . When she stated becoming someone property... thats not even becoming someones property. She's not even a slave . I feel like thats a huge slap in the face of pure ignorace . Back then being someone property was a slave with no freedom nor rights.
2 . She's rich , beautiful , have a big status and is the princess . Of course a gaurd or husband is needed to be with her . Does she want to die ?? Assassinations happen and even her own mother wanted her dead .
Where can I watch this in the US?
Netflix
