There were about 20 of us spending nights playing games and the most popular game was this. We crowded around watching some crazy combos and it was awesome. Good ol'days.

All time favorite fighting game. What a concept, it's so beautifully drawn, such an array of characters from both properties, classic easy to grasp and difficult to master fighting game that I feel like never got the love it truly deserved. A fifty two character roster that rivals most games today, with them being both popular and obscure, and of course, that OST. Really wish I could play it on my PS4. Nothing does quite beat playing it on an arcade cabinet though. Truly, a Marvel.

It's possible only if you have a Dreamcast emulator on your PC. To me it was hard trying to get this game to work on my laptop, but it's just getting the Rom of the game and a Dreamcast emulator for your PC.
Marvel VS Capcom 1 was awesome too and I still play it these days on my laptop, but honestly MvC 2 was the main one that's made a lot of history upon my childhood. I even defeated Abyss all the way to the hardest mode when I was 9 years old hehe! But yeah, last time I played MvC 2 was at the arcades at a small movie theater. MvC 3 is okay, since I'm more into 2D side scrolling fighting games, not the 3D ones. But there all still enjoyable to play and just pure awesomeness!

Hell nah you're crazy. Nothing can beat those character themes. Captain Commando, Ryu, Wolverine, and not to mention secret character theme to name a few.
@@hugon6717 I agree, i love MVC2's soundtrack but character themes are better and more memorable to me. I understand why they didn't include character themes in this game though, it's way harder to make character based levels and themes with 56 characters lol (at the time at least)

I downloaded a PS2 emulator and played this game on my laptop. The trickiest thing is moving around and doing the motion input on your keyboard. I gotta get a controller so I can use that on the ps2 emulator.
Didn’t realize how laggy marvel vs capcom 2 was on the Dreamcast until I got the arcade 1 up that has the official arcade rom that runs hundreds times better finally can enjoy the game it was meant to be played consoles really weren’t as perfect I used to think they were that cause I didn’t own arcade machines couldn’t compare them back in the days

I ask because artificial intelligence does not make teams based on affinity. Choose any character, build the team and that's it. For example, you can face Magneto, Servbot and Charlie at any time on the same team. If any programming or game expert knows, thank you. I still like this mess of Artificial Intelligence 🤣
Too bad Capcom never put bonus stages in MvC2 like: - One bonus stage where you destroy the giant treasure chest in under 30 seconds! - One bonus stage where you KO as many Sentinels and Servbots as you can under 20 seconds! - One bonus stage that is a remake to the game Son Son.
PLEASE HELP I only play competitive smash but I have a dreamcast, an arcade stick and mvc2 and I REALLY want to get better but I don't know where to start. I know how to pull off all of the moves themselves but not where/when to strategically use them! Anyhody know a good website for beginners to standard 2d fighters?

The jazztronica soundtrack was a huge upgrade from the first MvC. Excellent jazzy funk music.
