just realized that jim lee blue team was represented in this game except for beast....wolverine,cyclops,rogue,gambit and psylocke all characters I played quite a bit
Assist type, you're picking what that character does when they're assisting the one you're playing as. Like if you're playing as Gambit, Cyclops can jump in for one attack and leave while you continue playing as Gambit. What Cyclops does is called an assist. The assist type is yours to choose whether you want Cyclops to do an anti-air or some other thing when they momentarily jump in. :D
I love this game, but the soundtrack sucks. Some kind of jazz/pop fusion that doesnt belong in a fighting game. Also the announcer guy talking during the character selection and match outro is just annoying.
