Very interesting. Im down to my last 2 swhackers and am planning on switching to the Magnus Single bevels. This video probably just saved me a bunch of time and money that I do not have to waste! Thanks Brother.
Knock tuned all my arrows with the field points then when I tested my broadheads I found the 6 best combinations of arrows and broadheads. This evening I just finished sighting in at 30 yards and my 200grn. Ranch Fairy single bevel are shooting under a 2" group. I will never hunt with an arrow that hasn't been knock tuned!
I shot 150 grain slick trick at 30 yards it drop 3” . Then I shot a 125 Magnus snuffer at 30 hit the dot . So I’m hunting with snuffer and serv broadheads total bolt weight 485 . Only going 270 fps out of excalibur Phoenix .
i/we noticed this many years ago when compound bows were invented and became available to hunt with. think about what broadheads were already in use by all the recurve/longbow hunters???? to make matters worse weall had to compund hunt with fingers.....tab or glove was the only option....no mechanical release aids existed. to some extent back then, deer were pretty safe. especially for any deer over about 10 yards! those old broadhead designs flew pretty good back then out of a 40 pound+ recurve/longbow with 500gr+ wood arrows.....even past 20 yds, if you were capable as a bowhunter to get and make the shot! now in my early 70's, i am happy to still be able to go to the woods with my last year's vital x crank setup and heavy duty 150 gr mechnicals. about time to get it out and check it out again!!!!
As I’ve said in my messages to you my cross bow has not nock tuned even 1 bolt to acceptable accuracy with a field points , custom Sirius or stock that came with my K I vital I’m very disappointed in my outcomes so far this was purchased for my 80 year old father I’m hoping we find a fix season is close thanks for all the information you put out
You may have something funky going on with the bow. I’d give KI a call and/or visit your local pro shop. Definitely not the experience most are having with the Vital X 430
Stiff side 3:00 or 6:00 position for any and all centre shot bows. Anyone that says static spine doesn’t matter does not test often enough. I could get bolts to fly worth a damn at one point even with people saying vane orientation doesn’t matter. I started making my own and a pipe vice is a crucial tool for any archer. All my bolts group now from cheap sharrow to expensive easton they fly perfect and group.
I reflected last year with the quick fletch shrink wrap vanes. I have the r.f 200 up front. Gonna pull them out and see if I have similar results. I sighted with only 1 arrow last year so F for my effort 😆
You didn’t mention how the Broadhead sit with the fletching I found it makes a difference I put a small o ring on the Broadhead so it is in the same position so with that said you need to retest please let me know I found out the same with 3 fletch arrows I think this is crucial
Turn one of your single bevels into a double and then compare. This should let you know if the single bevel is causing the issues or if not having vents is the reason.
It's been a while since I've shot a black hornet, I'm a big fan of the 2 blade stinger. I'll try a hornet again here soon and get back to ya, but I'd be willing to bet with a properly tuned arrow it will shoot just fine ;)

Happy to help!
Well said sir. We all apreciate the good tips Keep up the good work.
Will do!! Thank you, David!!
Spent the day knock tuning my rigs. Firm believer. Thanks guys.
Excellent! You'll be happy you did when its the moment of truth!

Love it. Great job, glad you're seeing the results of a well-tuned system!

Sounds like you found a winner!

Good stuff, Don 👍

Good stuff 🤘🤘thanks Chris!
Tuning the head to the fletching angle could help? If one is trying to spin faster than the other it could create instability? 🤔
I used to do this on my compound with 3 blade heads. I personally haven’t noticed a difference on two blade heads, but if you do…definitely do it!
Have you ever bare shafted bolts? Is that a thing you can do?
I have not…fletched nock tune has always worked for me
Has Troy I know he is a bare shafter

Hey, long as you have an arrow you’re 100% confident in, that’s better than most. Constant progress is what we all strive for 👍
The solid head would produce lift where the vented would to a much lesser degree. Gotta nock tune!
Also true! Thanks for pointing that out!

I haven’t seen a need to do this with 2 blade heads on tuned arrows, but if it increases your accuracy with the setup you have…by all means do it!!!
My problem with nock tuning my xbow is its 10pt and no ability to turn nock
You can still shoot through paper and sort your arrows. Best tears = hunting arrows. Others for practice.
Or you can get sirius arrows and then nock tune I had the same issue

Those single bevels are expensive…
@@draggindeeroutdoors Talk to Troy and see if he will do it or send you one to try it on. Besides, you will still end up with a usable broadhead.
Have you or Troy tried feathers on a crossbow
I have not. Strictly plastic vanes for me!
❤❤
👍👍
DOESN'T THE FLETCHINGS HAVE TO BE TUNED IN ORDER TO GIVE THE ARROW A TWIST AND MAKE IT MORE ACCURATE .
Can you elaborate on what you mean by “fletchings tuned?”
I broadhead tuned my vertical bows with black hornet. Does your crossbow shoot different with the single bevel vs black hornet?
It's been a while since I've shot a black hornet, I'm a big fan of the 2 blade stinger. I'll try a hornet again here soon and get back to ya, but I'd be willing to bet with a properly tuned arrow it will shoot just fine ;)
Ya I just bought the 150gr black Hornets for my elite. Haven't shot the magnus single bevels yet but the black Hornets are flying good
@@draggindeeroutdoors
And I shoot the 150gr stingers and killer bees
Every bolt I've ever shot with a fixed blade Ive had to re sight in! Sight in field tips screw on mechanicals and go hunt!
Are these tuned arrows?
