    That 43 grams of concrete 2/8 cups of water ratio is what I've been trying to find out for months, watching TH-cam videos. Thank you this is the first time I've gotten any sort of straight answer to this question.

    Nice vid. If I were going to do this, I would not use the wire, I would buy a bag of fiberglass to mix in the concrete. Mix in a wheel borrow, much easier.

    I'm British and over here you either get postcrete or normal cement, you don't get this high strength concrete. Postcrete is in short demand due to Brexit so I can only get concrete.
    I really aren't sure what I should do. Would getting normal cement and adding fiberglass to strengthen it be enough? Or would I need to add sand to the cement mix? I don't want to add rocks/gravel to it to strengthen it as it would make the plates too lumpy.
    I've been looking all over the internet and I can't find an answer.

    • @Bensux
      @Bensux ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I know this is a year late, but for anyone else that's looking for an answer:
      Concrete is what you call the mixture of _cement,_ _sand,_ plus an agregate like _gravel_
      If that's what you can get your hands on, then that's all you need, just add water.
      If you can only get pure cement (just the powder), then you would need to also get some _river sand_ (fine river sand) to mix in with your cement, the additional aggregate (gravel) is optional. There's different ratios you can use when mixing the sand and cement (1 part cement to 2 parts sand, etc).

    Save fucking about buying a mold for $45 just buy a 73 litre bucket for $10 and does the same job. Also you don’t need reinforcement wire or bars if you are using high strength concrete, but make sure you leave the plate to cure for at least 7 days as it will then have 70% strength. 1 month would be 100% strength I’d say.

    The 47.8 lbs is that including the mold? Or did you 0 the scale so it was 47.8 of mixed concrete / can you elaborate on that a bit for me ? I just ordered the molds and want to be accurate
    43 dry cement + 8 cups water ... the 47.8 threw me off is all ! Thanks!

    I'm British and over here you either get postcrete or normal cement, you don't get this high strength concrete.

    • @swokfitness
      @swokfitness  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It is recommended to add shredded fiberglass to the concrete to add to the strength. You can also paint it with truck bed liner or flex seal to help make it durable as well!

      @@swokfitness Thank you. The thing is, concrete is a mixture of cement and sand/rocks. When you say concrete do you mean just cement with those things added to it? Or you you mean proper concrete with sand/gravel in it?

    • @maximusstorm1215
      @maximusstorm1215 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@swokfitness I'd get postcrete but it's not available due to Brexit/Covid. Maybe high strength concrete in the US is what postcrete is here but I really don't know, that's what I'm struggling with. Sand and shit is what makes cement strong and into concrete you see. I wouldn't want to use cement with fiberglass in and for it to be rubbish or whatever.
