I'm running through older vids while I'm bored ar work on Xmas day. That last game really exemplifies how mana red is the epitome of glass cannon.
Hi Swayze, thanks a lot for featuring this deck. I really enjoy the UW caretaker control combination, although I play more Bezas than Teferis in this Gruul / RDW meta :) Teferi is really cool, though.
At 25:00, you could have soul partitioned one of the sheltered by ghosts to remove the second ward 2 so that your whale could remove the swifty on the following turn.
If they draw an untapped land there, they can just replay the sheltered by ghosts but make them have it. It also lets you draw into any other 2 mana removal spell to deal with the swifty.
You can build this as a Simic deck, you lose a bit of control but gain a lot of ramp very easily getting into Teferi's, it's been my go too since you dropped the original video! You're holding yourself back with Azorius,

you might be right but honestly I run board wipes in most of my decks, its just nice to have that button to push when otherwise you lose
@@DefaultMii I find that when I put less control in my deck I vs a lot less control, and with this deck I've been having a really consistent fun time, instead of always going up against super agro or super control decks, I'm commonly seeing other greens just filling the board with creatures, it's lead to the most fun games of magic I've ever had, Simic version of this deck ALL day,
Why not run a few copies of Rest in peace in order to deal with Occulus and reanimator decks, both seem to be very popular at the moment.

Hear me out. Splash green and a couple calix and feather of flight. Calix will be able to copy your caretakers talent as a token. Then use 1 white mana and lvl 2 caretakers then copy the caretaker token and you get like 5 caretakers talent in a couple turns
Being a total A-hole I want a mill deck that really works... but I love tokens too!

Hey @Swayze, could you explain why the choice to use Soul Partition here instead of Get Lost? I'm just thinking about trying to play around Ossification on Teferi, and I figure the Get Lost offers us a more permanent solution to knock that out and get our Teferi back. Is there some other interaction here that I'm missing relative to Soul Partition in particular?
Probably because duskmourn has made a lot of people use reanimation decks. Get lost puts the creature in the graveyard so decks like mono black, the azorious eye and golgari will just put it right back in play whereas soul portion will, in most cases cost them a whole turn to get their creature back

@@twofox_albion Another thing about soul partition is it doesn't give any map tokens which often makes things a lot worse against any other deck with caretakers talent
Soul Partition is also very good against monored. You know, when you don't want to kill his creature...
It's also more versatile than Elspeth's Smite, for just one extra mana.
Good versus heartfire hero, scamp, urabrask forge, and saves your own stuff.
I'd love to play fun decks like this but unfortunately I only ever run into red aggro and die on turn 2 if I don't have 4 removal spells in my opening hand
feels like I play heavy removal I just go against control
Adjust them for your meta. Add some floodmaws, and smites or another t1 removal, maybe a high noon so they can only do one thing a turn if you survive till turn two.
Watch out Swayze. You can't mention the algorithms in this game like that, otherwise people with rudimentary understanding of statistics will come out and claim you don't know statistics like them.
Well, if the algorithm had any relationship to actual statistical variability....
How does this deck surive turn 1 lelyline you die turn 2 when you are on the draw?
Its funny in the beginning of the video you where talking about how you had graveyard hate but took it out because you where not getting many graveyard decks. That is something i have noticed in B01 when i play the yard hate i never see the graveyard deck but as soon as I take it out basically that's all I get.

no one counts those my buddy plays the deck. I said the same thing and he goes I got pranksters I said if I deal with your 4 Dijnn and 4 oculus and you kill me with a 1/3 ill stop playing magic.

Finding mana is difficult because you need to be playing 26 lands. 25 is not enough. Also playing 4 fabled passage is thinning your deck out. Take out the fabled passage and add 4X Seachrome Coast.

The amount of complaining about play/draw is pretty off-putting. It has been that way since the advent of magic. About the only way around it right now is in Alchemy, though those cards could be made in paper probably.
i have never had a deck you post work...just a waste of wilds and time.
