SEOUL, SOUTH KOREA - Probably the most famous of all Korean food is Korean Barbecue, often shere you cook meat at your table and eat it along with side banchan, lettuce leaves, and perilla leaves. Today we’re going on an all beef ultimate Korean bbq tour in Seoul, South Korea.
Joseon-ok 조선옥 (maps.app.goo.gl/Aro2buKAFaAKq...) - We’re beginning this Korean Barbecue tour at one of the oldest and original Korean ribs bbq restaurants, known as Joseon-ok 조선옥. When you think about Korean food bbq, you often think of grilling the meat at your own table - but here they still do it the traditional way, the master griller grills all your meat. It’s basic and tasty and they only serve galbi (Beef short ribs).
Price: 40,000 KRW ($29.95 USD) per plate
Mongtan 몽탄 (maps.app.goo.gl/ZsWCEnrKfxN7n...) - A little trendy and a very popular Korean restaurant is Mongtan, known for their giant bone in beef long ribs and their hay smoked flavor.
Price: 32,000 KRW ($23.96 USD) per portion
Woo Lae Oak 우래옥 (maps.app.goo.gl/i6dtXPF6i2iPx...) - This is one of the best restaurants in Seoul that’s withstood the test of time. They serve naengmyeon cold noodles and Bulgogi (불고기), another traditional form of Korean bbq with thin beef marinated in sweet sauce and grilled to perfection at your table. I loved all the side dishes and condiments to accompany the tender flavorful bulgogi.
Price: 37,000 KRW ($27.70 USD) per portion
Myeongdong Seoseo Galbi 명동서서갈비 (maps.app.goo.gl/k7SbqMuSDGPBz...) - Probably the Korean BBQ that most surprised me was the standing barrel BBQ. This restaurant is from the family of an original old school barrel BBQ, but they have since relocated to Myeongdong area. Again, they specialize in galbi, or beef short ribs and you choose a barrel and eat your meat with their famous fruity dipping sauce. The meat was some of the most affordable in all of Seoul, but it was so good and so tender - I loved it.
Price: 15,000 KRW ($11.23 USD) per portion
Thank you to KTO (Korea Tourism Organization) for sponsoring and making my trip to South Korea happen!

Mark my dude, you are, in my opinion, the greatest TH-cam food channel of all time. No one does it like you sir. You are truly in a class all by yourself. You show nothing but genuine, love, care, compassion, and great respect for every culture around the world. This 🇰🇷 series so far has been fantastic and one of your best ever. I got mad love for 🇰🇷 and their culture. Always have. Their version of fried barbecue chicken and their BBQ is truly on another level. Much respect sir!!
Agreed
He's pretty great

Mark is my lunchtime getaway, I have watched countless episodes, and have yet to see him say that he didn't like something... Like he completely lacks even a pin prick of negative emotion. Outstanding.
Thank you for your support, and enjoy lunch!
Have watched several of his films where he doesn't like the food but comments with respect
He'll tell you he's not overly fond of sweets and desserts... 😂
But he appreciates anything if it's well made. And he's never rude or unkind about it!
Korean BBQ is one of the best in the world, Brother thank you for sharing amazing Korean BBQ of different styles with us ❤
This is one of the greatest Korean bbq video. Thanks Mark
YUP. THANKS MARK & YOU ARE CORRECT. KOREAN BBQ👍 IS ONE OF THE GREATEST FOODS IN THE WORLD 🌎.
오 드디어 한국에 또 오셨군요 ㅎㅎ 환영합니다 더 맛있는곳도 많으니 즐거운 여행하세요
Korean BBQ is my favorite!!!
Hope want day I’ll go visit Korea
At a Korean BBQ joint, you're not just choosing between beef and pork; you're embarking on a culinary journey where every slice is an opportunity to prove your grilling prowess. And let's not forget the high-stakes game of 'flip it before it becomes a charcoal briquette.' Kidding aside, this has been one of my favorite experience while I was in Korea earlier this year for our TV show!
Mark, I tasted the beef in Seoul 2 days ago, and my gosh, it was life changing flavor. Melts in your mouth. Meat was juicy.
I'm so jealous of you 😔
@@and3rzzzz hopefully you can make it.
What place? Did you have it at Majang Meat Market?
@oceanrocks I had it in Oakwood Premier Hotel in Gangnam area. They were serving course meal. It included Hanwoo beef.
Damn, these videos make me hungry each time. I am a big fan of the Korean food as their spices taste totally different for example Chinese or Thai ones. Mark single handily is capable to increase to flow of foodies to the places he goes - so big help for the local tourism.
Yes you are. In Korea, the food is seasoned with paste rather than spices, so it doesn't smell like spices.
Me too! I was thinking the same.
It's so nice to see the cultures, different types of recipes. Thanks again Mark and family members
Thank you very much!
Mark has evolved from being a foodie to a seasoned food maestro. What I enjoy is that Mike highlights the environment he is in and secondly, his critique is never rushed, one gets a mental meat tour in his detailed description of the cusine. Well done Mark..u have certainly established a formidable and well deserved excellent reputation.
How to know the food is good:
Once Mark take a bite, he closes his eyes and start smiling while leaning his head to the right. Definitely good food!
I call it the M.W.L
Mark Wiens Lean 😂😂

We appreciate your dedication and hard work, Mark. Lee working hard.
Thank you!
Have just finished my dinner but still hungry watching his videos 🙋🏻♀️
The soybean soup with tofu is awesome.
KOREAN RESTAURANT SAID: “MR WIENS, WE DONT HAVE SEATS TO BE SEATED”
MAR’S ANSWER: “NO PROBLEM AT ALL, JUST START THE BARBECUE GRILL!!!”
THAS WHY WE ALL LOVE MARK’S HUMBLENESS AND GOOD MANNER.
I would love to travel to Korea and experience awesome Korean BBQ and street foods. That BBQ looks fantastic Mark, thanks for sharing with us once again

Wow, what an amazing episode. That last place looked so cool and laid back... the setup was insanely cool!
Not easy to juggle this many hats and locations but you make it look so effortless!! People forget you are a father too - you and wifey make it look effortless!
Thanks for bringing smiles and insights to the world
Thank you very much, appreciate your support!
I love Korean beef, so meaty and juicy.
I am so grateful that so many places you go to have an organization of some sort that helps you with your travel and experience to show people like me, in another part of the world, to see all the wonderful things everyone has to offer. Not just food wise but also culturally. Ty.
During the video I said WOW 50 times!!!!! 😍😍😍😍😍
Oh my god, you visited this Joseon-ok!! This is a restaurant that my family has often visited for over 30 years. Many foreign friends must visit here!!
Great to hear that, loved it!

Gave two of them 5 stars . thanks mark.🙏
In korea, bulgogi generally refers to a dish of grilling thinly sliced beef marinated in sweet soy sauce.
The quality of mark videos is so top tier. I started watching him in 2018 when I was pregnant and looking to watch Ethiopian food because I was craving it😂 found mark videos and been here ever since. Best food vlogger of all time❤
Mark i always watch your video when i eat my food because it really amplify my appetite by just watching you eat. The expression.
Mark you need to invite your brother in law from Chicago to do some of these world tours with you. I really liked him in your Chicago series. The interaction with him and you guys eating beef and other Chicago eats was awesome.
Yes!!! I wish he could be a full time eater like mark!
Really , why . He was entertaining or oh I think I get it.
I agree!
He cant. His BIL has a real job and family. Believe he lives the Chi-town area. Why he only shows up in Chi-town area episodes.
you gotta remember, his brother in law lives in chicago, it doesnt mean he will be as enthusiastic regarding world foods lol, americans eat so basic that even their chinese takeaways are americanised
Ciao great Mark, you are the N.1

Great experience great barbecue great food!
Another awesome food adventure, the absolute legend of Food Travel vloggers. Cheers Mark for the inspiration to create Drew's Travels, documenting life in the lesser explored areas of the Philippines.
That bean paste you see everywhere in Korea is call Ssamjang, made from fermented soy beans.
I loved the metal chopsticks in Korea. Amazing
Mark’s charisma traverses all tribes, Mark is a good human being.
Seems like you are in paradise...🏝

Thank you!
He totally does! Him and his family are amazing and I wanna be adopted, lol.
Man... I wish Mark or Sonny or someone would do a gopchang/daechang video. The tiktok mukbangers make it look so good, but man, I also want an honest review on youtube 😅
Always great to see you share great bbq portions
THE BBQ FRIED CHICKEN AND WINGS AND RIBS LOOK DELICIOUS TOO MY FRIEND
Your videos always made me starving 🤣🤤
I would be dancing every bite like a kid
I'm glad that you also tried Woo Lae Oak's cold noodle with bulgogi. Definitely one of the best cold noodle places in Seoul. Nice choice!
Wonderful video as always! You show human beings at their best in all your videos from all over the world. All the multitude ways people prepare food - it is just amazing. I have learned so much about food cultures of so many different populations from watching your videos. You are probably one of the hopes for a peaceful humanity.
I’m starving watching this. Korea does it right! Looks so good.
That’s an ultimate food vlog mark you get five stars review
Mark, I would definitely visit these places when I visit Seoul but that last stop will be my 1st spot to visit 🤌🤌🤌❤❤❤❤
Please don't ever stop making videos!
Looks so delicious I have never had Korean BBQ I would like to try it some day soon
정보) 마크가 18:10에 먹는 불고기는 서울식이다. 언양식과 광양식도 유명하다.
Love watching you eating barbeque pork & beef. No wrapping up evrything - just simple way. Makes me hungry. Gosh, i love korean food💚 thank you Mark
Thanks for showcasing seoul korea, i will be there soon to work ❤❤❤
Mark, you should come to the Balkans, bro! If you like BBQ you should visit Turkiye, Bulgaria, Serbia and Romania. All of them are a must! You won't regret that, trust me.
Thank you, would love to travel more around that entire region.
Hi, Mark, I hope you and the family are doing well. Hey, my girlfriend has got to be your biggest fan. She literally eats her food while watching your videos. It would be such an honor to meet you the next time you’re in Dallas Texas. I love food but I’m more of an eater than a cook. She got me hooked on cooking because of your videos. There’s a lot of people that do food shows, but your honesty and humbleness is refreshing… There is a video of us eating but unfortunately there was no option to show it on here… all the best

Aromatic KOREAN BBQ and Fresh Banchan, So Incredible!.!.!
My dude, you are the only non-Korean i’ve seen who eats like a local! Respect! Love your passion for food and culture. Keep it up!
The barrel kbbq that was recommended by mike chen. 😮

I visited seoul in September! Oh how I wish mark did food tour there back then, I want to go back just to try this bbq.
I'm visiting soon have a list of food recs?
@shaqfufu8908 nengmyeon cold noodles is underrated and only in Korea. Kyo chon is my favorite korean fried chicken franchise. Dak galbi is a cheesy chicken shared rice platter that has stages of eating. Dried squid Jerky and peanuts goes well with beer.
thanks! @@vaccinatedanti-vaxxer
Aaaaaaow ..that beer!! So fresh..
The meat Aaaaaaow...!! Mark you are doing it again
It actually annoys the hell out of me that he has no contrast when he eats. It's the same reaction, every time. So unauthentic.
Thank you for highlighting other popular Korean cuisines in a previous Video. Now I know The Korean diet is very Diverse.
I love Korean food! Yakiniku, is one of my preferences! I've ate in Seoul, Korea but also in Tokyo in Japan! It's Really Delicious and a bit spicy! Compliments, Mark Wiens!🙋🏼♀️⚡️
yeah, Koreans looooove BBQ. Even Yakiniku was derived by Korean-Japanese after WW2. you guys can find how much Koreans love BBQing damn meats 🤣
Mark awesome video. Looking forward to the next video ❤❤
"Wow, this beef barbecue looks absolutely mouthwatering! The perfect balance of tender meat and smoky flavor. Can almost smell it through the screen! 🤤 Who else is getting serious cravings just watching this?"
Amazing BBQ Mark Weins !!! Thank you for sharing ! Loved it !
The best food video I've seen on TH-cam. That last BBQ... wow!
Mark, I think the last restaurant is my favorite. Stand up eating that’s way you can eat more.
What’s a great idea.❤❤❤
Finally a video without twenty minutes of adds... watchable for a change
Heading to Seoul now in March and as luck would have it my hotel Is one block away from Joeson OK BBQ! That will be perfect for my first meal ! Thanks Mark!
Awesome video, thoroughly enjoyed!
welcome to Korea Mark Viens, Korean BBQ is so common through entire nations, you'd better having BBQ with various vegetables, so called " SSAM " with various sources " SSAM JIANG ", most of side dishes in Korea are free of charges , please enjoy Korean BBQ with side dishes " BanChan "
What was that melancholic sound at 3:16 it was so heart touching
I'm watching this great video.
God bless you, Mark
