Amazing but true, our appointment for the IS was yesterday, and today we are back on the road. Morryde is amazing 1 day from check-in to check-out and the IS is amazing.

Had mine installed last December, love it , makes a big difference while driving, clearance is not an issue, doesn’t have to be realigned unless it tracks bout of align
Hey there! 👋 Glad to hear you're love'n your IS. Yes, Ive seen a lot of questions about alignment , so I wanted to make sure to add that into the video. I was also surprised how many service centers can do the alignment if you do need it done. 👍
We have the MorRyde IS on our DRV Mobile Suites. It's important to monitor your ture wear because they can get out of alignment. When they get out of alignment, the tire wear happens fast. Not all of the shops on their list actually do alignments, or are even open. Plus, not all the shops are equally qualified. Thanks for sharing Aaron. Great information.

I like this system so much I’m considering driving the rig there right from picking it up at the rv dealer. Disc breaks are a must, I hate drum brakes.

Hello Guys!
We had the IS system put on our Fuzion 420 in July of this year. We had the 7K axles replaced with 8K axles on our toy hauler. Best money we've ever spent! When people ask about it, the only thing they seem to focus on is the price! I can tell you this, the trailer rides much smoother. We travel back and forth across I-10 between Houston and Baton Rouge, LA. If you haven't traveled that stretch, then you know it can destroy an RV of any type. Things will not slide around in the unit like they did before the IS installation.

Brinkley and Alliance, I have confirmed they will NOT be offering this upgrade through the build. You will have to do it directly with Morryde.

I’m sure you right about the smooth ride, but it is still a big investment. We just opted for disc brakes for our alliance that I installed for $2600.
A big investment for sure and one that requires some serious contemplation. Congrats on saving some coin on doing the brakes your self. 👍
What a great video. I swear as a previous instructor evaluator, you did very well with this video. It was like a well thought out class. I watched this before but now with our new Riverstone we are going to get IS installed. You mentioned that you had yours installed at the factory. Was that done during your initial build process? I am wanting to get the modified weight description sticker on ours as well. Will MORryde do that?
Thanks, appreciate that comment! TH-cam is my (Aaron) full-time job I am always trying to improve on quality. Video, audio, storytelling, flow, thumbnails, titles, etc.
Yes, we had ours installed during the build process at Alliance( before its factory weighing) and thats why Alliance was able to put on the higher sticker. Morryde is unable to change factory weight stickers, so in order for that you do need to get it done during your build process and before it gets weighted by the manufacture. 👍 Riverstones are beautiful 5th wheels... and Im jealous of your 3 inch thick side walls!

@@IreneIronTravels Haha... Yes, those 3" walls and dual pane windows are GAME CHANGERS for sure. We spent Jul - Sep in KeyWest this past summer and it was a scorcher down there during that time; however, those items combined with 3 ACs working we were cool as a fan inside. I have to admit I watch many videos on TH-cam from an evaluators stand point. Just an old instructor evaluator habit that doesn't go away. You do a great job telling you alls RVing story. As we would always tell students, "Tell them what you are going to tell them, Tell them, and then tell them what you told them." Keep the videos coming. Thanks for the information!
I love it! One question though, what are the chances with the increased suspension travel that your auto leveling might contact the ground?
Thats a good question Don! We actually "nicked" one of our rear levelers entering into a BLM site off of the main road.
I've heard of people moving the level legs up a bolt hole or two to raise them up. And I really think we should look into that!
But have about 5,000 miles now and dozens of different campsites and we've only come close that one time to hitting.
@@IreneIronTravels As long as you are aware it will probably be OK. Does your foot/landing pad come off? Like on a boat trailer? That might give you an extra inch or two if you are going into an area where you think it might get close. Just a thought. I assume that you installed snap-pads on it.
@okinawadonkichi 👍 that’s an interesting idea I hadn’t thought of. They are held on by one bolt, so I’m not sure how easily they come off… but definitely a possibility! 👍
@@IreneIronTravels You could drill the threads out and install a heavy duty hitch pin. I would make sure that the hitch pin gauge is at least the same as the bolt so it would carry the weight without a concern. I am going to have to look into that for when we get ours as I have long known that I want the IS like you have (and the disk brakes)!

So there's really no additional maintenance required that isn't required on the leaf springs. With only one spot to lube would be less. Good video.
Is this an option Alliance offers or an aftermarket upgrade that is done directly at Morryde? Edit: I just watched the entire video and you said it was done at the Alliance factory. That's awesome!

Hello! Yes, we did. And I was almost as excited to do the disc brakes as I was the IS! 🤣 Such a great safety feature and there's a BIG reason most automobiles switched from front drum brakes to disc brakes in the late 70's. Huge difference in stopping power. If you're already going in for IS I think disc brakes is a smart move to do at the same time.
How often does it have to be taken back for inspection and realignment?
It only needs to be realigned if you notice an issue like uneven tire wear or weird tracking. No special inspection's needed, beside the regular axle bearing maintains. 12month/ 12k miles, like most standard axles. 6k miles on the one zerx fitting.
We are considering a shock and sway bar suspension for our class C. Do you have any info on the best options for this??
I haven't look into those much , but I have heard people mention Hellwig or Roadmaster on the sway bars. HD Monroe, Bilstein, Koni on shocks...
I saw in the video where the gentleman mentions that the double rubber shear spring technology was purchased 50 years ago. So why only now is this upgrade being offered to replace leaf springs? Perhaps the modern upgrade is the combination of the double rubber shear spring is utilized with a torsion axle. Can you confirm that the independent axle is indeed a torsion axle?
The MORryde IS isn't a torsion axle, but they do have some similarities like using rubber instead of steal springs, independent wheel action, and have both been around for decades. Torsion still uses an axle and the IS is more of a trailing arm setup (for lack of better word). The IS will have greater movement as well with the 5.5 inches.
Aaron, where did they put the disc brake controller -- front bay or propane bay?
Ours is up in the front bay.
Its been 5 months now since the suspension upgrade. I am scheduled for late July - What is your opinion on the upgrade now that you have experienced it? Added weight? towing? mileage? I would be interested to know. Thanks!
Next month will actually be a year! We've gone about 10,000 miles and love it! It does add about 200lbs per axle I believe, but its not something we notice as it tows preeeeetttyy smooth. But we did just have to have the system aligned. We had one tire showing really bad wear. It was about $350 and took the shop about 30 minutes to do, but you need to bring it to a shop that has done them. We're not sure exactly how it got out of alignment, but could have been a giant pot hole, or hurt a curb we didnt notice..... We just lube the 4 zerks once or twice a year and we'll have to get the bearing repacked at the end of the summer. All in all...love it! 👍

Was your IS installed by having the acles welded to the frame or were they bolted on? Asking because we just watched Venturesome Couple in a video they did on IS and they showed that they have a new system for installing the IS which is using Bolts instead.

Without the upgrade, would your unit have had electric drum brakes? I'm trying to figure out how the disc brake option on the IS setup adds so much additional cost. If the stock setup is electric, they would have to plumb brake lines and add some kind of master cylinder, but still - nearly $3k for adding disc brakes seems like a lot. In any case, drum brakes should have gone the way of the cassette player by now.

It would be nice if someone would give better detail on where you stay while work is done, what to do during the day while they work. Where to eat just give a better detail on what to do while RV is being upgraded.

Anyway the reason I am reaching out is that our Raptor was one of the first Keystone Raptors to be upgraded with a bolt on kit and not welded. Our Raptor is a 2022 356. So you can get the IDS bolted on as aftermarket. Let me know if any further information, I would be glad to help,

So my question is did you check with the manufacturer of your RV trailer to see if your frame itself could handle that extra load. Even if the Independent suspension upped your maximum load capacity I'm wondering if the frame is designed to handle it especially with all this crazy frame Flex going on you see on TH-cam all the time you may just compromise your frame even though you can technically carry more weight.
Yes. This suspension is now being installed at the factory by the manufacturers of many brands. This way they know exactly what their frame specs are. 👍
Overkill for average RV IMO
Don’t agree. The frame is the most common point of catastrophic failure for most RVs and it ultimately comes down to the stress, twisting and bending that happens from the suspension.

No offense, but can you guys go back to posting stuff like you use to with the van, the truck tent and the ORV trailer? RVing to me is about nature and experiences. Lately your posts have been about all your new expensive “things”. I get you have a new thing to tow. But I’m not into rich guys bragging about how much money they can spend on their RV.
This comment was really unnecessary, if your not interested in them talking about what they have and what is available, then move on and don't watch. Always have to have that one person who get their jollies off insulting people on what they have or what they are doing. They may not take offense, but other people do.
I understand what he is saying. However this is their home and not they’re not casual RV’ers. This is my goal in the next few years and it’s really helpful to know what upgrades are available to make the towing experience, living experience and the lifestyle better. I really appreciate all their content.
