The story of the song is both nostalgic and sad, the story is about how once the dwarves have fortresses strong as steel but their greed gets a better of them and as the consequences of that their fortresses abandoned and in ruins their forge grow cold and rusted, their kin slowly forgetting the touch of the forge and hard.
