    Would’ve been nice if you told us what primer, paint and clear coat you used.

      @SAM IAM how long to do a rush job if you only have 4 to 5 hours? I can use a hair dryer between coats.

      based on the ones I have, I can tell that dust and salt goes into the pores and turns paint into grey colour with sandy notes
      1 solid winter and you need to do it again :) if you live in dry climate this will probably last 2 years
      I use hight temperature clear coat and flame it with butane torch - the only thing it helps is that paint does not peel off

    What grit sandpaper did you use? And would rubbing alcohal work well instead of paint thinner?

    Do you need to sandpaper if the exhaust is brand new?

      Yeah, the chrome is too smooth. Just gotta sand it to rough it up a bit for the primer to adhere to.

    And is the other still is still being done?

    Did you use high temp? If not and you want paint to stick to chrome you would use a self etching primer! And if you're making a how to, explain what you used and why lol. You made a look I did it, just do this lol

    Did you use a special high heat gloss or the tips are cool enogh that standard clear coat are just fine? Would a possible option is just to use high gloss heat paint.

      Trooper427SS The same way that stickers add horespower

    • @PowerNationTV

      "Sense" of performance... it adds no performance.

    • @TheDatsunZX
      @TheDatsunZX 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Trooper427SS actually painting anthing that deals with heat aka exhast, intake ect. Dissipates heat a lot quicker with black paint. But mainly if you use, ceramic or wrinkle coat

    • @TheDatsunZX
      @TheDatsunZX 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      mike smithson but then again you dont need that on your exhaust tips hahaha

  • @fdriller9
    @fdriller9 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    Why aren't you sanding between coats?!

    • @craigerking9790
      @craigerking9790 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      you sand between coats when you are doing a more serious paint job where you want to be sure there are not going to be any imperfections. With small things like this you don't need to worry as much

    • @JQUICK21
      @JQUICK21 ปีที่แล้ว

      Did the end result look like it needed to be sanded between coats? Sanding is done to eliminate orange peel and to get a perfectly shiney gloss look which is not needed here

    Painting your tips does not increase performance🙄
