I have the same bike and use it extensively as a long distance commuter. I'm thinking of same thing with 650b. the stock wheels punctured the tubes bc there were burrs where they drilled for spokes. not the lightest bike. may upgrade the cranks to xt triple. what do you think of gear ratios ?
Depends on what your goal is. A triple will provide ample climbing ratios. But if your not climbing hills with a loaded bike you might not need low gearing. Generally though for touring you want to be under 19 gear inch - IMHO
It's aTubus (Tara I think). It's actually not the best rack for bikepacking for this Ortlieb gravel set but it's OK for touring. Because of it's design it only has the one diagonal support for the lower 2 Ortlieb clips as opposed to two vertical supports on a traditional front rack. Thanks for watching!
Nice rig 👍

Sweet ride
Nice setup Joe. REI bikes are solid and a good value. Part time Nor East Joe now?
What are you using for your front rack and and pannier model? I see that the brand is Ortlieb but I can't tell anything more. Thanks for the video!
