Sounds amazing!!!I have an M6 Comp …i really wanted the DCT and honestly i like the way the M6 looks better. These cars are fast enough there almost no need for upgrades…more is always better but its not needed at all. 191 speed limiter hits it no problem when i drive through New Mexico to Texas the roads are long and straight for miles. Car is stable af 190 feels like 75 in most cars.
The ZF transmission in the newer cars are now quicker than the older DCTs… (with a tune) the M6 is a sexy car tho… more power is like cake, I know I don’t need it, but I like it 😆
@@WhatsyourForteImo the 8's are by far the best looking in the line-up. I do agree that the M6 is still nice looking but sittin next to an 8, not even close.
@@gaara4667 the gran coupe in particular is very rare and alot more expensive still for same performance. It is much more aggressive looking for sure. Most people just get m5 simply because it’s cheaper and has a third backseat, more iconic and many more available on the market.
Unfortunately this car would not fit having a 6 speed… none of the newer bigger Cars make sense with a manual. I know a lot of people have even said that about the G80 M3… as it doesn’t feel right with a manual.
Fantastic car out there mate! I'd love to have this one or M5, but I wonder, what about reliability of this engine? From what I know, it's the same S63 4.4 V8 that sits in M5/M5C. Unfortunately, there are hundreds of reports that this unit can be really problematic, even in it's latest form (2023+) and even at low mileage. I just wonder, is it the same story with the M8s, or are there any differences in those units between M5 vs M8?
So I have owned an M5… and there are only 2 real issues that you need to address. One is the leaky coolant tank… which BmW just issued a recall for, and the other is Low pressure fuel pump failure. Both items are covered under warranty and both have aftermarket solutions.
That is one swanky machine.....the amount of thought, attention to detail and overall performance is something that most people cannot even comprehend. I cannot think of any American brand vehicle that would even come close to this level of beauty, swankyness and performance. Thank you very much James and Greg for putting this together.
James you are a big guy, go big comfortable performance car. The M8 , Audi RS7, Porsche Panama "Turbo S" ect.... line of performance cars that are big, comfortable, readily available acces to modifying. The Audi RS7 and RS6 hold their values better. You will likely only own the car for a year or two maybe. Resale value should be a consideration as well.
@WhatsyourForte having test driven both the previous generation RS7 Performance as well as the new gen RS7 and RS6 while cross shopping the previous gen RS3, current gen RS7 and RS6 "they are awesome machines" while cross shopping my 24 M4 Competition XDrive (also cross shopped M3, M5 and even the M8) but, I am not a big guy "5'9" 180/185lbs" while the RS7/RS6, M5 and M8 were all amazing they all felt like too big of a car for me personally. I have a wife and kids but, my youngest is 19 and I am closing in on 50. I already have a 992 Porsche 911 Carrera 4S. The M4 felt like the right fit for me, for my lifestyle. A second weekend/fun car that if I wanted I could fit my three kids in (none over 5'7") or wife and 2 kids somewhat comfortably for short weekend fun drive as where my Porsche only one passanger which is always my youngest "the other car enthusiasts in my family". If my kids were younger at home or the car was my daily/all arounder I would have definitely went RS7 or RS6 as much as I also like the M5 and M8 I also do not keep cars long and would be worried about resale value. Anyway my $.02 of experience with these cars. Good luck on which ever you choose as your next vehicle. Definitely drive the RS7 and RS6 though for sure to at least be able to compare. There is a huge Audi following just like BMW, not just the US but, worldwide and locally here in the Carolinas. You can find several local Audi, Audi/VW Carolinas groups on Facebook. They have all kinds of meet ups, events ect.....
I 💯 agree. They have RGBW DRLs out there I could install but it involves some drilling and wiring which I don’t want to do at the moment. Finding a quality product is not easy. The yellow DRLs I have now are my 3rd set. First 2 from one distributor. The ones in now have been the best. Bayoptiks. Maybe one day Bayoptiks can create an RGBW version.
Ok... that m8 is fire. I was cross shopping a new m4 xdrive and a 2020-2022 m8 comp .. I couldn't believe how much and how fast the m8 depreciates. I sent my dad a link of an m8 and he told me that I should get the m3 and m4 since they hold value better. (He owns several bmw dealerships) so I went with the m4. I always thought the m8 was the top dog of the M lineup which it kinda is but they really do drop in price so much harder then the g8x models.
I think the price drop is from them making too many and the pricing was never right to begin with. Why is a top of the line M850 the same price as an M5 comp? BMW messed up the pricing and it hurt the resale value of the 8 series
I feel like a celebrity every time I take my 8
Series out. That V8 twin turbo roar and pops and gurgles are just absolutely addictive.
It definitely turns heads

I’d be lying if I said that M8 doesn’t look better than my F90 sheeesh
It looks a lot better I’m thinking it’s the perfect replacement for the f90.
If it did they would be coming off the lot the moment they arrived. Even the X6 sells way faster and people apparently hate coupe SUVs. 🤷🏿♂️

M8 gran coupe is the best looking car BMW has out right now. Absolutely stunning…
Couldn't agree more!
Always stop and look at these cars whenever I see one, beautiful but out of my price range haha.
They are very nice and expensive 😂
I hope there is a next generation with the updated BMW infotainment system.
