@Luka_Nogalo well, while how someone drives a car can be a factor, most of the time it’s just the maintenance. You can definitely mitigate a lot of problems up front by doing preventative maintenance, but realistically if the thought of a repair bill here and there being a couple thousand dollars doesn’t sit right with you, this probably isn’t the car for you. It’s not a guarantee these things will happen, but if them happening will ruin your experience I’d definitely look elsewhere. However with the tires being more affordable, you should be paying less overall for tires.
1) the market has changed quite a bit in the last 12 months since I bought this car. 2) Of the cars you’re finding for $30k, none of them are Individual cars like mine is. MAYBE Individual paint or interior, but not both. 3) I knowingly overpaid for this car because of the options it had and have mentioned this in several videos. The true value of my car when I bought it was probably closer to $38,000 - $40,000. Either way, very happy with the car
You can look into BMW value service and get the front brakes and rotors replaced for around $1400. I did that at my local dealership and they honored the value service pricing. As far as reliability goes, i'm not sure bud. You're only 10k into your ownership and you're right at the point where severe issues are appearing or going to appear, i've seen some of your forum posts and you've basically been scared sh**less about your current issues. Your engine transmission having issues can almost be lumped into regular maintenance at that mileage and is far from actual issues you're going to experience such as: rear diff axles splitting, coolant line leaks, carbon buildup, turbo replacement, etc. These are going to eat you alive and are extremely common issues to have and not some made up fantasy, especially if you're beating on the car on top of a stage 2 tune. SavageGeese does blow the S63 motor failure slightly out of proportion but many of his points and negativity about the engine are grounded in objective statements and not just saying what he wants to say, that's why people follow his channel for more factual based information on the car.
The whole point of getting this car and making videos on it was to show an actual ownership experience so that people could see how unreliable/reliable these cars really are. My inquiries in forums (which have been few and far between) are primarily to gather more information on how to take care of these cars, both for myself and for people who watch my videos. I’m not really scared about anything, I have 2 other cars that run perfectly fine if something major ever happened to the M6. Furthermore, one of my best clients is a European Car service center near me, so I have the ability to at least drastically reduce the price of any major service via work exchange. But, quite honestly, even if everything you describe goes wrong, I stand my ground that the M6 is a great value. Let’s say I blow my turbos, bend a rod, and snap an axle all at the same time. Turbos (at normal prices) are normally a $6,000 - $8,000 ordeal, ~$13,000 engine + install (can be much cheaper), and $3,000 for axles. Throw another $3,000 for a diff and that’s $26,000 of issues. I OVERPAID for my M6 because of the options and color, but factoring what I paid ($45,000) with the cost of all those failures, that puts me at $71,000. For most M6 buyers, their “all in” amount if worst case scenario occurred is in the $60,000 range, potentially even less now that the market is softening. If you decide to do the preventive maintenance instead of waiting for everything to break, you can shave another $10,000 or so off that. For a car with an MSRP of over $100,000 that cosmetically holds up very well (outside of the carbon roofs, to be fair) and is as dailyable and useable in everyday life as the M6 is, I think that’s an awesome value, genuinely. We’re in a time where so many cool cars are near their original MSRP’s even with high mileage, the M6 is one of the last hidden gems left in my opinion and these videos are my attempt to show that to the world while still being honest about what breaks. Also, let’s be real here: people don’t follow SavageGeese for accurate information. He doesn’t test the cars long enough himself to be making the claims about reliability that he does. They follow because they align with his Porsche Elitism/his affinity for extremely compromised purpose built sports cars. Nothing wrong with Porsche Elitism, at the end of the day I quite frequently make the claim that BMW is the best car manufacturer of all time. But that’s what I’ve noticed the few times I’ve watched his content and observed his audience.
First and foremost, you are correct that there are not a lot of videos with the Fxx M6. I have been looking for a while. Thank you for giving some love. Second, where did you get a quote for the roof refinishing? Oh and BTW, I had to do my inside headliner and it was a super easy DIY job. Especially since I had to get my windshield replaced at the same time. Thanks man.
I got a quote from a local shop near me called Ghost Customs that does “starry night” headliner conversions frequently. They told me $250 if the material didn’t need to be repaired, $350 if the material needed to be repaired
Hey Erhan, first, great video with honesty! Second, questions: is your M6 "Imperial Blue?" I really like that color! Also, what packages were ordered on your M6? What are your thoughts on the packages? Lastly, i appreciate your videos...I just subscribed 👍
Car is Tanzanite Blue Metallic I with Amaro Brown interior. Options include Competition Package, Bang and Olufson, Driver’s Assistance, Cold Weather Package, Massage Seats, Rear Window Shades, and Extended Leather. My understanding is that it has every available option for the 2015 model year except for Carbon Ceramic Brakes and Night Vision
I haven’t, I keep getting mixed answers. One shop quoted $350, another said the OEM headliner couldn’t be reused, another shop said $250. Getting the rods/rod bearings swapped has been a bigger priority for me so I haven’t taken the time to get a firm answer about the headliner yet
Got u , Original Fabric comes off and is replaced with matching Alcantara , not a problem at all , got quoted $400 in NY , just trying to figure out the removal of the headliner out of the car , good luck with Rod bearings
That would be a net negative decision. First off, the price of selling all the used aftermarket parts wouldn’t come close to the price of buying all the OEM stuff again. In fact, I don’t even think all the bolt ons minus the Akrapovic Catback would cover just an OEM Downpipe. I’d be paying to make the car slower 😂 Furthermore, the car already has miles on with the mods so the “damage” has already been done. The more logical play is paying the few thousand it will cost to beef up the engine to handle the extra stress of the mods
Gonna need a bit more details for this to be taken as anything other than rage bait my friend. Miles? Miles between oil changes? If you did all the recommended service and the car blew up, sounds like an issue with whoever is working on your car, not the car
@@EthanYorke bought it 3 months ago with 70k miles. First thing I did was get the engine oil and transmission fluid/filters replaced. Engine was running strong. I hardly ever drove it. Car stopped on the road because of rod bearings. I wouldn’t advise people to buy this car unless you’re dooming them to spend 15k on a new engine along with a ton of other problems when it inevitably happens. Best, G
@MacawRescue situations like these are exactly why I’ve made these videos. While I’m sympathetic to your situation, there are a few things I’ve mentioned that you didn’t take into consideration. Firstly, there’s no mention of an oil sample test. If you hardly ever drove the car, having the oil tested at your first service would have shown rod bearing damage prior to them failing. That is, by far, THE MOST important step when buying an M5/6 and I’ve tried to make that as clear as possible. Furthermore, there is also no mention in your comment of what the oil change intervals were on your car before you bought it. I feel confident in assuming, if you check now, the average miles between oil changes is over 7,000 miles which would have also been a potential red flag before even purchasing the car. Are these cars potentially problematic? Yes. Are they a guaranteed money pit? No. Not if you do your homework. Regardless, I’m sorry to hear about your situation.
Ya the problem with running a sample test is you aren’t able to do that when purchasing one from a used car dealership so you are taking a gamble. You also don’t really know the maintenance intervals so you’re gambling on that too. Regardless I’ll be rebuilding it with forged internals and slapping on bigger turbos. Bad luck. I have a few other cars I’ve built and this will just be another project car to spend tons of money on.
@MacawRescue agreed that an oil test is a gamble, but it is a gamble that is the difference between a $3,000 preventative bill and a $15,000+ reactive one, that costs $35. Additionally, you can check the service intervals on the CarFax which I’m fairly certain every dealer has to present to you before you finalize the purchase. CarFax reports are a great way to get an idea of how a car was cared for in my opinion, that was a big deciding factor with my car specifically. Even if they don’t provide it to you, it’s $40. Hardly something worth skipping on when buying a car of this value. Happy to hear the car will be back and better than ever. I just really don’t agree with the “the engine blowing is inevitable” narrative, that’s not true. Respectfully, you skipped steps that could have saved you and you got unlucky. It happens, best of luck with everything
Yo Ethan can you check out a car for me? I found one, coupe not grand coupe tho :(, for 35k with 60k miles. I was waiting for the gran coupe version but haven’t found one yet. The coupe is looking better and better tho the more that I look at it.
The amount of money that you spent on a higher mileage example, you could've just bought a lower mileage car. Doesnt sound like you saved any money in the end...
My objective wasn’t saving money on this particular purchase. The color combo was the primary motivating factor, I intentionally overpaid because I figured I’d never find another spec like this. Only other tempting M6 I’ve seen since was a British Racing Green / Aragon Brown, but the owner wanted $85,000 and that’s insane 😂
Lmao 700 dollars for 2 tires, I got 2 tires for my Accord for 670 bucks with a small discount, wherever you went didn’t give you much of a deal but it is a BMW I guess.
Size and tire type have a massive influence on tire prices. For example, the width of your Accord tire is probably 225mm or 235mm, the rear tires on the M6 are 305mm which is substantially wider. Additionally, the M6 has 20 inch wheels and 20 inch tires typically cost more than smaller sizes. Lastly, people with extremely powerful cars typically prefer sticky tires, as these help give the car traction. Sticky tires, despite having a very low mileage range, are often the most expensive tires on the market. Moral of the story: expensive tires aren’t really a “BMW thing”, but more of a “sports car” thing 😃
I don't get why people full blast the stereo. I mean, do you not want to be able to hear past 45 years old? Doesn't make sense. There is a guy across the street from me who does this in his truck ( even worse he does this coming home at 11:30pm to 12am and everyone can hear it in their house 3 houses away from him) and he has to get up right next to me in order to hear me and he is in his upper 30s low 40s. Yeah I like the music loud also, but I still wanna be able to hear when I get older and not be a burden on people.

@@nonexistence7986 The ones i bought should work - the ultra performance summer tires. Just make sure you get the same size as on your current car. So far they're holding up well on my car however the M6 puts down more power than my car so you may go through rear tires a lot more often. However with the tires being more affordable, you should be paying less overall for tires.
keep makin content bro, we need a voice fr, tryna get mine by this summer hopefully will make sum content for sure
Thank you I will be buying a m6 soon, been skeptical but you just made my mind up pretty damn quick lol
my friend you got put together, you find these with half the miles for around 30k or salvage for low 20s
How is the car doing today ?
The M6 with the V10 is much more bang for buck
I’d agree if that car didn’t have the SMG transmission. Truly the worst feeling transmission I’ve ever experienced
@@EthanYorke Manual is the way to go
thank you sir!
🔥🔥🔥 love your content
Awesome content.
Hey man did you get the headliner fixed , how does it come out of the car if you know ? some are claiming the windshield has to come off which is BS
I have 1 of 2 F06 M6’s in all white. Found the other one on FB market place lmao
Can you suggest aftermarket rods ?
Top speed challenge please😭🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
Before watching this video, never thought I'd buy a bmw, now I know I'll never buy a bmw.
You're also a 🤡
Let us know when you’ve had it several years and have put real miles on it. Can’t get much useful data from 10k miles. Good video though.
But at least u know what to expect upto 80k with more hp than stock... Lot of these out there with half miles
Why not get rid of the bolt-ons and tune and just run it original? It's plenty fast like it came from the factory!
I drove down the street and my engine blew up 2 months after buying it. Did all the maintenance. Don’t listen to this guy
Best,
G
Tell dad to buy you a Honda. Problem solved. 😢
Only other tempting M6 I’ve seen since was a British Racing Green / Aragon Brown, but the owner wanted $85,000 and that’s insane 😂
shii I paid 42k for 2014 f13 M6 62k miles in 2022
Lmao 700 dollars for 2 tires, I got 2 tires for my Accord for 670 bucks with a small discount, wherever you went didn’t give you much of a deal but it is a BMW I guess.
Just got a 640i gc. I don’t wanna bother with a V8
this guy is the most dorkiest looking m car owner i have ever seen
didn’t know you had to meet hydarail6477’s objective criteria of cool to own an m car
I found one for 15k and the idea of buying it terrifies me
I don't get why people full blast the stereo.
