    Excellent presentation. I could almost do that myself on my 2004 Nissan,but,don't fancy cleaning out all the fuel. Now I can watch what my mechanic does,and,let him know that I'm not completely ignorant of what needs to be done. Great video. Knowledge is never wasted.

      @@AirtexFuelPumps It was a long search to find the model with the same fuel tank/cover etc as my Nissan Pulsar..{Australia},but,it appears your Sentra has the same as my Pulsar,and,that is what I was guided by. Today into the workshop,and,I told my mechanic about your YT video. He is very keen to look before I get there. Well done Airtex-ASC Performance Pumps. Even over such a great distance your expertise is appreciated.

    Thanks for this video! Just an FYI- I don't know if there was something physically broken on my 2005 Nissan Sentra fuel pump however it was really tough getting the original one out of the tank. :( The new one went in very easily.

    Does this cure the long crank on 2000-2006 Nissan Sentra’s 1.8? I read about the fuel regulator TSB where they just replace that part, but I’m thinking a new fuel pump assembly would be better.

      Sure pays to be a little sour on that..I watched this video to try to understand what is necessary to change the fuel filter,so perhaps I don't get screwed. Now I can find out how much the whole module is,and,prepare for the worst $$$$ scenario. Where are you?

    Would gladly appreciate your help. I have an 04 sentra, based on my research I'm assuming that my fuel pump is bad... before the car broke down, it wouldn't start in the first crank, until the second one. Then the day it broke down, it would take a while to speed up the first 10 -15 MPh. what do you recommend I should check first?... use a pressure gauge ?

    Hi, I have an 07 Nissan Sentra 2.0. I just replaced the fuel pump about a week ago and everything was working fine up til yesterday. I have a digital fuel gauge that's showing that I drove 60 miles and I'm already on 3/4 of a tank. I have a tank that holds 14.5 gallons and the book says I should get about 27cty and 33 hwy. I'm not getting anywhere near that. This has happened to me in the past as well. I will drive a certain amount of miles but when I go to fill up I need about half of what's actually showing. I checked my fuel pump fuse its good and I hear the pump when I turn the switch. Please help!

    Is it recommended OR necessary to remove fuel and clean the tank. Realized while there it's good to do all you can, just don't have access to that monster hand crank pump you used. Thanks. Jim

      Obviously it's too late for you now probably (4 year old post) but I just replaced mine without doing that. What I did, based on other videos, is pull the fuel pump fuse first and then crank the car - it doesn't start and de-pressurizes the system. Then open the gas cap and disconnect the negative battery terminal, and off you can go to replace the part.

    I had a really tough time getting the metal hold down plate back in place. It seemed much much more difficult to both undo and then find the screw holes and replace the bolts (compared to how easily you seem to be removing and installing.) Now I can still smell gasoline faintly and I've received the error code 455 likely indicating that the seal isn't good.
    Any idea why I might be finding the fit to be so bad? Think I just need a new plate?

    • @breaddrinker
      @breaddrinker 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      ***** Turns out my gasket had swollen over time, and was in the way of the screw holes to replace the metal hold down ring. When I removed it to inspect it, the screws had pinched and severed the old sealing gasket.
      Do you guys sell a replacement sealing gasket that will work with an 06 sentra and this pump? Having a devil of a time finding a replacement.

      The flat rate time found in ALLDATA calls for 0.8 hours. The pump is access is under the rear seat. Labor times and dollars per hour will vary.

    • @AirtexFuelPumps
      @AirtexFuelPumps  6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The fuel filter is part of the fuel pump module located inside the gas tank. It is considered a maintenance free item.

    • @elitebadass44
      @elitebadass44 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Airtex-ASC Performance Pumps so does that mean, I could take it to Nissan and it will be free?

    • @AirtexFuelPumps
      @AirtexFuelPumps  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      No, unfortunately is is not free. What it means is it does not require regular replace,ment. If it becomes restricted or plugged the fuel pump module will need to be replaced. It is not a serviceable part.

      @@travis.golightly No it's not. A step not mentioned in this video but you'll see elsewhere on youtube, is that to depressurize the fuel system first, you can pull the fuel pump fuse (located a bit under the dash on the drivers side) and try to start the car -- let it crank a few times and stop (it will fail to start). After this point, the fuel system is depressurized and you don't need to use a pump to pull it into a gas can like they do here!
