Bro I’m just going to repeat what everyone one is saying. THANK YOU!!!! I was at it for 1 hour trying to figure out how these guys were removing the the light in other videos… it wasn’t until i came across yours that you went in to detail about the fastener… dude it was all I needed!
Really appreciate this video. I've had the worst time with these headlights and never realized there was a locking mechanism. Thats going to help me out so much!!
Jay!!! I have a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland with the passenger side light out. I watched several videos where everyone is taking off big parts to get to it, but only yours goes into the details I needed, like the plastic ring with the tabs, those metal teeth, and the great close ups and explanations of how it's seated in there and how you get it out and back in, and the wire connection, etc. Anyway, as a woman with medium sized hands, I was able to just stick my left hand in from the wheel well and my right hand from the top side through the open hood and with both hands visualize and feel my way around to undo and install the bulb thanks to your tutorial. After doing it once with the old bulb, now I can pop it in and out in a minute! Ha ha! (I was practicing with the old bulb to make sure I could do it so I didn't ruin the new one). Thank you!!! The dealer wanted to charge me 398 bucks for the bulb plus 165 for the labor.
This is exactly why I decided to pick up my phone and make the video before I put mine all back together that day. I’m very happy that this could be a help; the dealers are absolute scalpers, and most of these things can be taken care of with a little know-how. Cheers.
You are correct about the baby hand comment. I appreciate you showing how to remove the breather components for the driver side! Passenger side could get by with baby hands. Cap is plastic partial turn on the 2016, 2017 & 2019s I have worked on. My 2019 is the D3S HID bulb (two others were halogen). For your coolant issue, the vehicle may need to be running. I believe it becomes a pressurized system when in gear. Coat lines with a heavy soap solution. That might leave some trace marks if you check right after running it. Good luck. 7:20 The coolant leak being on the centerline of the engine, suggest perhaps the water pump. The pump has a tiny "weep hole" on bottom side that leaks first when pump seal is going out.
Thank you for the video. I had to do passenger side. It was not that bad. I removed the 3 bolts & used a 5/16 hex (opened up space from the box that was on the way) , I tilted the steering wheel to the left & made it easier to go both under & upper. It was that twist mechanism that you mentioned & a clip for the bulb. A stool would also make things easier since it’s a little bit tight if you’re tip toeing lol
This is great! Saving me a ton of frustration. Quick question: Once you have the bulb unseeded, how does the old bulb clip off the actual wiring connector? Is it that little silver tab you have to pry up or down with screwdriver?
It just depends on what your truck has. The housing and access will be the same, but you will just need to identify and determine the type of bulb that you need. This one is an Overland, but I believe the Laredos took the standard type bulb. Autozone etc would be able to take a look and let you know which one to purchase
‘That whole thing’ is only the intake hose from airbox to throttle body, and provided more space to record this video…. I’m not sure ‘wtf’ you are on about here

This Vid helped me replace by 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee Headlight bulbs. also confirmed that it needed D1S Xenon bulbs. Thanks

I just replaced mine from passenger side only using underneath the wheel well. It was tight but doable.

Can anyone please tell me do these HID bulbs Control both high & low beam with just the one bulb ??

Can the standard bulb fit too or only the exact metal/HID bulb that’s shown here?

wtf r u doing… you don’t need to remove that whole thing..!! Just the air box is enough!!! Cause I just did mine!!
