    Good to see a nice video that shows that LED is still no match for HID, no heat is projected from an LED so it will not project light, only glow in front of you , it may look brighter upon the garage wall but on the road especially a dark road, you’ll struggle to see the road ahead.

    I went with OSRAM Cool Blue Intense(next gen) D2s bulbs to replace my old HID OEM bulbs and really like the color, brightness and beam pattern. I think the LED emitters are a technology that needs much more development before they can successfully compete with good HID systems. The problem, as I see it, is to get all the chip emitters oriented in a spherical array that has the sphere's center aligned with the focal point of a reflector/lens, hence a tightly collimated beam with minimal angular dispersion.

    • @druzzyaka

      It is impossible to retrofit led in a projector, that was created for hid bulb. Why? Just look at the area, where light is created. It is in focus of the reflector and lens. And then look at the light source of led bulb.

      For this, you are likely looking for a 6000k or 8000k color setup for that blue tone! 6K will be a much lighter blue tone, more so white than anything with a hint of blue. Think of modern LED headlights, this is 6K!
      8000k is a much deeper blue color, it is much more obvious than 6K is.

    Something to note that while HID and LED are both point sources of light, the two manifest their light differently. Headlight manufacturers note this manifestation in designing their headlights around the light source used. Putting LED in a housing where an HID bulb belongs is the same as putting HID in a halogen housing. They may fit, but the output and spread will never be better than the bulb it was originally designed for.

    Interested to why it's only the D series bulbs that are no good in led, in other tests the GTR and Bevensee led were far better and brighter.

    Very good video, I have stock hid d3s on my Chrysler 300 but one just started to flicker. I was going to swap to led cause they say 12,000 lumens with 110w. It would be nice to see those numbers you got with led lux vs what they state they have on package

    • @HeadlightRevolution
      @HeadlightRevolution  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Blatant lies honestly, 12,000 lumens would produce WAY too much heat for a headlight housing.

    Wow! I wasn't expecting that. I thought that the LED bulbs was better all-round. So I have a Jaguar XF Sports 2016 X260 that uses DS3/35w (each side) HID bulbs. When the lights are on and your standing in front of the car they look bright, but when your in side the car and looking out the windscreen they don't look that bright. Is there a high wattage I can use that you can recommend without it damaging the wiring or the light?
    Thank you. 👍🏽😎

    • @HeadlightRevolution
      @HeadlightRevolution  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      When going up in wattage with HID kits you don't have to worry about the wires, at that point you would burn up the internal reflective surface of the projector resulting in less light output over time.

    Great write up. Saved me money. I have a CLS Benz 2011 w219… I have the OEM DS2 hid and I can’t see anything at night. My lenses are fairly clear and I was wondering should I replace the bulbs or should I replace the bulb and a upgraded projector… I wanted 6000k but l don’t want to lose lumens, so maybe 5000k? What do you think?

    • @HeadlightRevolution
      @HeadlightRevolution  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      5000k for sure, getting into 6000k+ you start to lose overall light output!

    Can you do a video comparing a D bulb from a 10 year old car to a brand-new one and show the decrease in luminosity. I’m very interested to know why when I changed my lightbulbs a brand new one the light output didn’t increase. And I used the osram and Philips.

    For my 05 Cadillac STS, I've got gtr led's in my 9005 high beam and it's amazing. I'd love the gtr led's in my d1s low beam. Both are projectors, and if ya'll had a d1s led that plugged into the power supply wire that connects to my ballast inside the headlight it would be a plug and play for me and I'd have incredible light out put from both my low and high beam projectors.

    I have no idea where you source you LED bulbs. I have a 2010 Skoda Superb with Bi-Xenon D1S set. Replaced them with Darkaway LED D1S (Plug and Play). They are way brighter than the Osrams I had prior to that and no warm-up time as well. Maybe you should try a different source for your LED bulbs.
