Summer of Stories: Judge Carol

Carol Misiewicz is the creator, executive producer and presiding judge of the television show “Justice with Judge Carol,” the first court TV show in The Bahamas.
Judge Carol retired from the Bahamian Judiciary in 2022, and served for 14 years in three of the four judicial levels within The Bahamas. She held appointments in the Magistrates Court, Supreme Court and Industrial Tribunal. Before her judicial appointments, she worked as a counsel and attorney for over 20 years and across the spectrum of courtroom practice. As a private attorney, she founded Misiewicz & Co. law firm, where she specialised in civil litigation, personal injuries, insurance and breach of contract claims.
Judge Carol’s extensive experience in both the public sector and private sectors, as well as her tenure as a judge, has given her a deep understanding of the Bahamian legal system. In addition to her role on “Justice with Judge Carol,” she is presently a consultant at Higgs & Johnson law firm. Ultimately, her goal with her TV show is to enhance public understanding of Bahamian law and promote a more mature and empowered post-independence society.
