    Completely agree. I've tried and tried to melee these dudes and its not worth it. Wands!

      Hopefully they rebalance parry to be a bit stronger. Would dedfinitely close the gap between melee and magic.

      Meleeing everything is not worth it hands down the weakest path to take in the skill tree. Magic is ridiculously overpowered archery is nice beyond the tedious grinding for arrows.

    I absolutely hate this mob, and I seriously question the developers who decided to put this in the game. It's such an outlier relative to other mobs, and it's everywhere, and it's not a challenge - you either manage to kite and kill it, or you die. It runs as fast or faster than you do and has seemingly infinite stamina.

    Tbh, the best way to kill an army of scavergers + a couple of these green ones all at the same time is to spawn 4 of that flying skulls you get from necromancers and watch them burn.
    I always keep them in my inventory just in case I pay a visit to the green machete guys.

    I freaking hate these guys! Every time I see one from a distance I'm like OH HAYL NO and run away to prepare myself. And their frigging GRUNTS as they're running...... ugh.

      Yeah, they have no downsides. Universally unfun to play against. Have yet to hear someone say they have found a rewarding way to fight them.

    Thanks for the video! We had a hard time with these guys too and the reward for killing one of them is pretty underwhelming. Unfortunately, melee combat is currently poorly balanced compared to magic. I am playing a tank build for my group at the moment. In general it is also insane how fast shields and weapons break. I hope the develovers will balance things more.

      Yeah, their loot isnt really any better than a normal scrap guy, and they hit so hard and fast. Then when you parry them, it feels like you are doing something wrong because the risk vs reward for parrying is not worth at all. Shields should be sturdier for sure.

    What's worse is when you are playing with a 2 handed weapon. Their recovery times is so short you have to get one attack in and dodge away. I really thought parrying was going to be the way to deal with them, but this is ridiculous.

    Yeah, these guys seem harder than most of the bosses, especially if you run into 2 of them at once with all the other mobs around. They're just so fast and annoying. My wife and i use the strat where I tank them and she's behind them getting backstab with her bow. Works most of the time, but I have to have the gear and skill tree for it.

      They wouldn't feel so bad if it didnt take so many parries. Currently fighting them feels like a stat check more than something you beat with skill. 6-10 parries with regular and merciless attacks mixed in is pretty ridiculous when fighting one my level.

    The problem with these guys is they don't respect any of the timing the rest of the combat lays out. They just spam attacks and don't give you a moment to recover your own stamina, even if you're dodging effectively.

    If you want, you can build a base in or near that camp location to practice on them and the ones nearby up the hill where that matron boss is. That way when you die you're right back again. There's a repair bench in that camp as well so durability doesn't matter.
    IMO the parry time isn't as bad as people say, it's somewhere between Valheim and Lies of P.

      I think the main thing that throws off the parry timing, is it is different for different enemies. Also, does not feel good taking damage through a parry.

      ​@@t0ssacoin408 that's just it. I don't mind different parry timings You get that in dark souls too. But taking damage through a parry sucks a bit. Valheim has it too though when your parry block value is lower than the attack value

      @@SamLopeZz Valheim does have it, but it makes sense. In Enshrouded it feels like I am damaged through my parry at random.

      Parrying timing is strange for sure I have timed them correctly and they have still failed at times. I generally don't waste time trying to parry or melee. I'll stick to shooting things from a rooftop or dodge rolling and lighting them up.

    My friend and i found that these guys can climb well so when we fought them they would always reach our high grond and were able to kill us anyway. This is despite the fact that I main battlemage/healer so my wands do a decent amount of damage

    Im mostly maining archer and have a secondary melee character. Archer isnt an issue, just regular long range then dodges or kiting and multishot can really shred them quickly.
    On the melee though, yea these are tough.
    Which i actually really welcome the challenge since most of the game even bosses, overall difficulty level feels pretty low.
    But no wonder theres a lot of players findig the game balance off, these guys come out of nowhere with their super powers when youre just having a chill time otherwise.
    Maybe keen could just adjust their attack speed, or their HP

      You poor soul maining archer. My condolences. I would definitely welcome them upping enemy difficulty across the board. Don't even nerf the green guys aside from how many parries it takes to stagger them.

      Haha. If your condolences are about The upkeep cost of maining archer I've figured out a way to exploit thousands of twigs in seconds. Until they fix the resource cost for arrows I'll shamelessly have to keep cheating.
      It's sad cause I actually enjoy farming in these games, but in the current state it's just not good

    Such a big fail from the developers. I've died once to a boss in this game and a few times from fall damage. The rest are to this overtuned, buggy trash that clips through your shield, to three times the damage of anything else at it's level and leave you with almost zero attack windows. And this video is three months old so "working as intended" I guess. I'm shocked, quite frankly.

      Yeah, kinda lame how many times you have to parry just to get a stagger. Even Dark Souls understands parry balance, and they are supposed to be difficult.

      in the latest update devs "reduce" the stamina for these guys by 20%, I've tested the difference and ... died as always. and where there 2 of them at the same time, it's just impossible to handle. also, they chase you really far, so even running away is not an option in many cases. and jumping with a wand is fixed so no longer works, so gg =/

    yeah these guys make the game suck hard. its a joke, i found one that was level 11, i was level 13 with 13+ level gear, It can practically 1 shot me, not only do i run out of stamina blocking the attacks a melee attack does nothing to its hp.. total shit show. I thought lower level enemies are supposed to be weaker.. These guys ruin the fun of the game cause when you see them you have to just run away.. and if your in a area that you cant jump up and cheese them you are screwed, they got 20ft reach and can jump to you.. The devs are bone heads for making these guys too strong, and on top of that if you kill one, you a rune and torn cloth wtf.. straight bone heads.. The devs need to fix this shit and also revamp the loot dropped from enemies. I can get a rune and torn clock from a level 3 enemy, why i am i getting the same loot from a level 11+??

      @@t0ssacoin408 problem also is, there are usually 2 of these guys at a time.. hard to block rear attacks from guys with 20ft reach, that attacks multiple times.. you would have to be realistically 10x levels higher then them to get a decent fight..it the devs removed these guys from the game, it would be so much better.
