Did not expect much since i'm kinda fed up with guides nowadays, but damn that was a delight to watch! Thank you very much, i'm now motivated to make myself a necromancer! Majestic day to you sir!
Perfect! I was just looking for a class overview that focused less on the meta and more on the aesthetics and style, since that’s what stays between patches and keeps me invested. Thanks for this :D
I enjoyed this video so much. Seeing the different animations clearly which doesn't happen in battles was beautiful. Thanks for the new spin on which class to play!
This is a very fun way to look at the different classes, and has made me realize I am really not sure which class is my favorite. I have least favorites. But not a favorite, probably because I always say I play builds, not classes. And probably because weapon skill lines define my builds easily as much as classes. I think the only character I have that uses a class spammable at all is an Arcanist.
Thats why we play 20 characters , we can never pick a class or playstyle! Great video once again my friends! Love the voiceovers you guys did! Keep up the good word!
I have watched this video several times. I really like the perspective you bring for each of the classes. I tend to build my characters with a theme and backstory. I have some characters specifically built for handling harder content and not just questing or RP. However, even with those meta-ish characters, I build around a story or theme. It brings a lot of joy and fun for me as I pursue my hobby. I really appreciate your taking the time to put this together. You make a lot of awesome content and have a fantastic way of explaining the mechanics, characters, and overall gameplay in ways that have contributed to a lot of learning for me. Keep up the awesome work. You and Maya make an excellent team. I am looking forward to what you will do next!
I rarely comment on video's, but this one is really good! FINALLY, a video that focusses on the feel but also specifically the sound of classes, rather than the highest amount of damage. Great stuff. :)
For Templar, another good example would be Knight Paladin Gelebor, the last Snow Elf from Skyrim, Templar is technically a Paladin. So it has appeared before in main games
My first character was a stamina based Arcanist, mainly for fun, i play for fun. This video is helping me decide what might be good for me next for fun
I love my Nightblade. I completely threw the class description overboard by making her tall Nord vampire knight clad head to toe in plate armour and wielding a two-handed sword. She's meant to be more of a role-playing character with her own backstory and all rather than a serious group content character but still strong enough to be viable for it.
Great video. Honestly is a good introduction to the classes without going into too many specifics. I played with every classes and dragon knights are my favorite now after playing with a warden for 5 years. I like melee focus builds and the tool kit of the dragon knight is versatile enough to fit with some fun builds. Btw for the in game description parts is the VA from in game? I don't think I ever heard those voice lines.
Awesome video! After maining templar for years, I'm on the hunt for something that more fits my playstyle (battlemage type, using melee weapons with magic, preferably elemental of some kind). Currently trying melee magsorc, but I've tried other classes. I just gotta accept it might take awhile to figure out. Some classes, I agree with you, sound/look gross, so I've not tried a necro nor arcanist. If I can figure out how to replace warden bugs with more "elegant" skills (scribing perhaps), I'd probably be all about it!
I’d been a Templar main since first getting the game at the Morrowind expansion, and now I’m full-in as an Arcanist main. I’ve found especially with scribing you don’t have to use any of the tentacle abilities to do very well, and I generally keep my visuals pretty clean. I’d recommend giving it a shot. There is definitely room for different approaches. To me, the class shield abilities as an Arcanist battlemage are particularly cool and crisp and weave very nicely into the more aedric-looking scribing shields. Might be worth a try! The tentacle abilities don’t really work as well with my personal RP and gameplay preferences, but I’ve found I don’t have to use them especially since scribing came out and they also reworked flail significantly reducing its damage so it is no longer “must use” to me for the class to feel at its best. The Arcanist meets the niche for me that Templar used to but I feel like hadn’t been doing for me for a while. I still like Templar, but it hits different for me now than it had. Seeing Hermaeus Mora as not totally daedric helps me. It feels less like cavorting with dark daedra and more like employing fundamental forces which undergird the universe, which takes care and expertise but are not fundamentally corrupting/detrimental.
@alexanderduvall2567 Thank you for this response! It's good to hear from someone else who was also a templar main. I had been on the fence about starting an arcanist, but I think I'll give it a try, might as well! I've seen some also weaving runeblades with wrecking blow, which looked satisfying. I can see how my arcanist character can have his powers but not have pledged himself to mora. Aside from the tentacles, the sound effects and visuals are pretty cool sounding/looking. And if we can change some colors down the road, that'd be a super bonus. But yeah, next chance I get I just might start one...now I get to think about a name, which is fun, too!
Great video, definitely a better way to look at the different classes over tier lists. I have 20 characters but more recently I'm quite pleased with how I've made my stamplar. When I saw the new bow scribed skill I never thought I'd use the backflup but I've managed to utilise that as a way to escape while dealing a good bit of dot aoe damage after having charged in using Explosive Charge, Bloody Smash and a few carves. With PON , Tarnished Nightmare and Prior Theric sets going its quite the wrecking ball after everything begins bleeding and taking poison damage while being effected with sundering too when the TM set procs. Also have a nice gift for my foes after charging in and place a Barbed Trap at their feet.
What a video! I thoroughly enjoyed watching, ZOS would do well in supporting you. You have promoted the game so well with this video and new players (and old ones like me) will take a lot from this and enjoy it I’m sure. Great looks on all your characters and I like your view on the necromancer my favourite class. Watching this has made me want to try out Dragon Knight and see what I can do with it. Thank you so much.
I discovered your channel a few days ago as i came back on eso after 4 years. I used to play a stamblade. Loved it. Really. I was on console and now im back on pc, so i have to do everything again and i made a new stamblade as main character but i hesitate to do a warden or an arcanist. I hoped to find an answer here. Definitely not 😂 But i really like your videos! Keep going, it s really good job !
This video is all about asthetics and roleplaying. Normaly I would be againts it but today's eso's class fifferences are: 1.Looks 2.Current power level. all classes have spammable, delayed pseudospammable, dot, stun, ring aoe etc. Mechanicaly they are identical.
Pick whatever class you have the most fun with my personal favorites are Templar's both mag and stam. Nightblade both mag and stam. I'm also really enjoying the Archanist class but I only played a stam build so far.
I have a decently usable build on each class, but I do have preferences, I have Necro tank, sorc tank and DPS, warden and Templar healer and DPS, arc is only DPS for now, DK has a DPS build but I'm still working on it and I honestly didn't like it as much for tanking (which is what it originally was) and then my NB has been all roles at least once, spent most time as a healer, currently building it out as a DPS. Warden is the only one that I want to build a second DPS build for, my current one is a bleed themed build that hits around 90k but I also want to make one that really leans into the frost.
Great video, don’t see many deep dives into the classes, they mostly just get glossed over. Also, Dragon Knight is a base game class. Warden, Necromancer, and Arcanist are the introduced additions
Yeah of course - by “new class in ESO” I mean that it’s not featured in any previous games. I can see how that could be a little unclear! Anyway thanks for the kind words - glad you liked it!
@@simonemichelleno hes right he means classes in lore or game wise sorcerers ans the other base game classes have technically been around since arena or daggerfall which are ES1 and ES2 respectfully dragonknight class became a thing in elder scrolls universe after skyrim modeled after the dragonborn before that u couldnt play as any dragon powered character pre skyrim so hes right lore wise
Dragonknight is my favorite class to beat content with but vampire is my favorite way of getting around the game when the guards are not around. Favorite teleport in the game.
When I joined the game back in 2016, I chose Sorcerer to be my main character. Which is great, Sorcerer is good at doing literally everything. However, if I were to go back in time, I would choose a Nighblade to be my main. Simply because it makes farming and questing so much faster and easier. It's insane how much time you save when you're able to stealth past all the trash mobs while doing stuff, and lose agro by simply pushing a button. The game became so much less of a grind for me once I got around to leveling my first Nightblade character. If I were to go back, I'd do Nightblade first, Sorcerer second. Edit: I just got to the Nightblade section of your video where you said "cloak is useless in pve." I strongly disagree. "Dark cloak," and it's morph "Shadowy Disguise" is by far the most useful pve skill in the entire game, bar none. The only places I can think of where it's not useful, is trials, and the infinite archive. That's it. In every other pve scenario, it's a godsend that'll save you countless hours of your life.
I haven't played in years but I really enjoyed playing magica dragonnight a.k.a fire mage, stamina sorc for that unrivaled mobility in pvp and night blade as healer.... basically the opposite what everyone was playing at that time. Are these still viable?
I love my double 2h stamsorc, tankblade, healknight, healcro, and healarcanist! It's the one thing I love about ESO, you could make a mage-y claas like sorc into a melee specialist :)
Haha! Glad that the video is creating interest, but sorry if it's contributing to indecision! Following the 'meta' is not something I necessarily recommend, but I would say that right now Templar DDs are probably the most useful of those three, at least in dungeons and trials. Then again, that could change overnight. Ultimately, there's not a damage class in ESO that isn't fun to play.
@NinjaPulls yea meta isn't something that bothers me since I plan to play my character long term and I know it can change. The thing that was putting me off templar was doing the thieves guild and dark brotherhood but I realised I could just headcanon him as some oathbroken dark templar or something. Which one out of temp and nb has the more complex engaging rotation? I heard templar can be quite.. simple?
Templar is somewhere between Sorcerer (super easy) and Dragonknight (dynamic DOTs). The tricky (and fun) bit is optimising the execute. Same is true with the Nightblade burst phases. The rotations themselves are easy enough, and Stamblade and Magplar are probably my two favourite DDs to play.
Great video. It was interesting to see the animations in slowmo. I main a magsorc since launch. I can see why some would find them frustrating, but so many people choose the melee power fantasy. I definitely feel hated. I think it's more the loner class than the ego class.
Arcanist and Sorcerer are probably the easiest to get to grips with for new players. But any of the classes will work great - so feel free to pick the theme you like best.
just a side note for players who - like me - find this overload of magical superpower not very entertaining and are looking for a non-magical class: there is none. so, you either skip ESO entirely or get used to it..... or you play the game omitting most of the powers of your class! of course, this is NOT a viable play style if you are considering getting the most of your class, but it can still be a lot of fun.. and that is what the video was about, wasn't it? so here is, what I started out recently (solo): - imperial race - dragon knight (ignoring ardent flame, only level draconic powers for the some of the passives and earthen heart for all of the passives, using molten armament and spiked armor only for leveling to compensate for degenerating gear while leveling up) - fighters guild skill line - mages guild (only for persuade and the magelight which I will only slot) - undaunted (using only the altar for boss fighter) - 1. dual-wield, 2. bow, 3. sword & board, 4. 2handed - dark brotherhood for the blade of woe currently using only sword & board and bow at lvl 50 cl 640 and it is a lot of fun. no flashy results unless I choose to activate molten armament and spiked armor in boss fighters. a lot of stealth and straight up fights. feeling like the only normal person in a world of superheros :D But I guess this is only a viable play style because they must have nerfed a lot of the content since release.... I do not remember that leveling was that easy back then... And I sincerly doubt that my personal skill progressed in the years of abscence this much. :D
Hey! You’re right that power creep has been enormous. Also, story content is designed to be beatable by newcomers (e.g. press) who may never have played ESO before, so it tends to be very forgiving. There’s absolutely no need for a build or any optimisation there. It’s perfectly possible to ignore Magicka entirely and have loads of damage. But it IS a major disadvantage and in group content (the core of the MMO) we have to actually engage with the combat system. It’s an important distinction that many players (and creators) fail to make. Happy hunting!
@@NinjaPulls I agree. I think in the past decades a new form of game style/player base has evolved. Players like me (around 50) that once had the time and energy to commit to these games on a regular long time bases now are way more casual but have the money to buy in for a time. To satisfy the commited player base up for any challenge and those caduals produce the concepts with problems for one or the other IMO (constant readjustment vs. Buy-to-win/nerfing)
Each class has a major skill or affect that defines them. Ex; Templar: knock back javelin, necro: resurrect ult, KB: stealth, Warden: speed wings, Sorc: blink, arcane: barrier, and DK: dragon leap stun. I personally recommend knight blade for pvp, arcaniat for pve, sorc for battlegrounds, necro for trials, Templar for delves or ledge pvp, DK as a universal tank, and warden as a healer or battlegrounds.
Don’t pick the right class, level each class with their complemented race to level 10. Then log in each day on each character to do pvp purple daily, dungeon daily as well if you know how to Do that.
Both have military and chivalric connotations, but they're not exact synonyms. Originally the names refer to headquarters (of the palace / of the temple), but more to the point in this video I'm only interested in the Elder Scrolls lore and not the real-world derivations of the modern English versions of these words.
Fair enough! Although 80 hours is as massive overstatement. If you're smart about it (and group up) you can get to level 50 within an hour. Skyshards can also be done fast. Maya made a video about this - just in case you find it helpful. th-cam.com/video/4YOAGrqBi7s/w-d-xo.html
I’m curious where you got those stats from. I’ve been helping people improve their DPS and teaching trial/dungeon mechanics for 6 years and Oakensoul does outperform a 2-bar setup.
@@NinjaPulls I' not talking about people trying to increase their dps... (most aren't trying at all). I'm talking about the average ESO quester who sometimes runs dungeons using oakensoul and a cheesy heavy attack build(afk build). Those actively trying to increase their dps are in single % digits in this game..
Awesome! Hope you have lots of fun! And if you ever want to get going with group content or just have questions, join our Discord: discord.com/invite/ninjapulls

Templar is somewhere between Sorcerer (super easy) and Dragonknight (dynamic DOTs). The tricky (and fun) bit is optimising the execute. Same is true with the Nightblade burst phases. The rotations themselves are easy enough, and Stamblade and Magplar are probably my two favourite DDs to play.
beautiful vid
Thank you. Really appreciate your wonderful feedback. 🤩
Great animations in this video. Wish the game had the same quality.
Thank you for the feedback. Obviously - that’s all ingame footage in the video though.
@@NinjaPulls Nice graphics card.

Awesome video
Thank you 🤩
Glad you liked it!
@@NinjaPulls what do you think about the current state of eso? Just starting out!
I had no idea there was so much lore
That’s what I like about this game - it’s there is you want it or you can just grab a class that feels good to you and have fun! 🤩
AYO, was that AI voices for class descriptions? Nice touch!
Lol! The dude voice is Kaan and the lady voice is me - Maya! Thank you 🤩
Great video. It was interesting to see the animations in slowmo. I main a magsorc since launch. I can see why some would find them frustrating, but so many people choose the melee power fantasy. I definitely feel hated. I think it's more the loner class than the ego class.
Thanks for the feedback! Haha! I love my sorc. It’s more of a frustration in PvP - I am also guilty that and streak away 😝😜🤪

Hello, I'm interested in playing ESO and I have a question. Which of these classes are generally good to play for beginners with high ping?
Arcanist and Sorcerer are probably the easiest to get to grips with for new players. But any of the classes will work great - so feel free to pick the theme you like best.
What dyes are you using for sorcerer ? Please
That's it I've decided. I'll just make one of each class max them out 1 by 1
Noice!!!
We need an Ascendant Lord class
just a side note for players who - like me - find this overload of magical superpower not very entertaining and are looking for a non-magical class: there is none. so, you either skip ESO entirely or get used to it..... or you play the game omitting most of the powers of your class! of course, this is NOT a viable play style if you are considering getting the most of your class, but it can still be a lot of fun.. and that is what the video was about, wasn't it?
so here is, what I started out recently (solo):
- imperial race
- dragon knight (ignoring ardent flame, only level draconic powers for the some of the passives and earthen heart for all of the passives, using molten armament and spiked armor only for leveling to compensate for degenerating gear while leveling up)
- fighters guild skill line
- mages guild (only for persuade and the magelight which I will only slot)
- undaunted (using only the altar for boss fighter)
- 1. dual-wield, 2. bow, 3. sword & board, 4. 2handed
- dark brotherhood for the blade of woe
currently using only sword & board and bow at lvl 50 cl 640 and it is a lot of fun. no flashy results unless I choose to activate molten armament and spiked armor in boss fighters. a lot of stealth and straight up fights. feeling like the only normal person in a world of superheros :D But I guess this is only a viable play style because they must have nerfed a lot of the content since release....

@@Sinzyi2 hey It's the best I could do, the meta is changing constantly. lol
This comment is so off
Don’t pick the right class, level each class with their complemented race to level 10. Then log in each day on each character to do pvp purple daily, dungeon daily as well if you know how to Do that.
Templar is a synonym to paladin. Holy warrior.
Both have military and chivalric connotations, but they're not exact synonyms. Originally the names refer to headquarters (of the palace / of the temple), but more to the point in this video I'm only interested in the Elder Scrolls lore and not the real-world derivations of the modern English versions of these words.
@@NinjaPulls, i agree that those are not exactly synonyms, but what i meant that in ES both templars and paladins are the knights that worship deity.
what's the polymorph you are using ?
Right at the start? That’s Molag Bal.
@@NinjaPulls Yes starting one, really nice skin !!!
also thank you for the detailed explaination about classes 😊
Me watching this, knowing I'll never put another 80 hours into a 2nd class because map & skyshard progression
Instructions unclear my Sorcerer electrocuted my whole family:(
Oakensoul probably boosts damage for like 90%+ of ESO players.. Certainly no gimp..
Apparent every time a tank or heal a pug group.@@newworldforward1842
Im not a big fan of the fact that it s morrowind creatures you summon with warden. If it was something more bosmeri, i would be probably a huge fan
