I’ve used both, the popgrip first because I had a regular pop socket for a long time and it’s just too bulky. It kept spinning off and the actual pop socket would fall off all the time (ever since they made them interchangeable). The 610 is what I’ve been using to this day until I switched, it’s slimmer and I like the way it spins so you can really adjust to the perfect grip. The only downside is that 1, it does leave scratch marks after a while of spinning it and I think the worst part is that the ring itself becomes loose. When swiveling out the ring to use it in the beginning it was very sturdy and kept my phone up in any position when way watching videos etc. Now though, I can damn near flick it out with one finger no problem and doesn’t hold my phone up unless I open it all the way. I need a hybrid of these somehow lol

For me what would make the anker setup perfect, or possibly the popsocket setup, is if there were a second set of magnets on the outside so I can mount the iPhone to any metallic surface like gym equipment.

You may want to check out the Snap Grip 2.0. Has exactly what you're describing.

Have you found any pop sockets or like that are MagSafe and you can leave on the phone when charging?

good review. I've used both and the Anker does feel better but with a much worse magnet and the ring goes from being difficult and stiff to engage, to loose after a couple of months (they have good customer service and willl replace but it gets tedious) .
The popgrip has a fantastic hold so is much more secure, but the edges of the plastic are sharp and do makes indentations on the finger it's resting on so it's a bit less comfortable (esp with the larger Iphones). The other weird quirk is that it sometimes attaches at a slight angle if not careful so you need to put it on straight but that's a minor issue. In fact the popgrip has the best hold of any magnet I've tried (I went through 5 different branded grips) so it's a no-brainer to stick with it if want to minimise risk of the phone dropping off. The price of these things is shocking though at £30 in the UK.

What none of these youtubers are telling anyone is that if you have small hands, the pop socket is always. It separates your fingers and gives you aches and pains. Not for people with small hands. I stopped using it after a month of aches and pains

I have small hands and the regular pop socket never bothered me. I always found it quite comfortable. Admittedly, I usually place it a little lower on the phone for one handed reachability. Obviously I won’t be able to do that with the MagSafe one- so I’m trying to decide what to go with.

@@JE-ji3cwhmm understandable. But i guess hands and fingers are not laterally the same. What fits in my hands wont necessarily fit in everyone else’s. But hey! Thats nice it works for you. It didn’t for me and others.

I bought both. They’re exactly as you describe. Both are very strong (I use a MagSafe case over my 13promax), I like having both, but the ring will dislodge easier than the popsocket will especially if you bump it at a certain angle.

The ring itself gets really loose. Becomes useless as a stand.

Much more of a natural feeling/hold if the rings would just keep the pivot point in the center, like on spigen’s ring

Pop socket is garbage. I’ve bought two pop replacement pieces in the last 6 months ($10 each) because over time they get weak and won’t stay up when using them to prop your phone up landscape mode. This is an essential part of what I use it for. That’s already $50 down the drain and I need to buy another pop replacement part. Disappointing, going to give the Anker a try

Hear is a tip from a long time PopSocket user buy the Popsockets that cost a lil more because they are made with stronger materials that last longer I use the enamel glow in the dark arc reactor popsocket and will never go back to the basic ones enamel Popsockets forever

It really all depends on preferences to using one finger versus two. I prefer the PopSockets because it feels better resting between two fingers. If you prefer a ring feel go with the Anker.

I bought the Anker ring as soon as I got my Spigen magsafe clear case. I do love it…BUT…it has left scratch marks, though very subtle, around my magnet ring on my case.

With both of the grips you have to take it off to wirelessly charge.

I have the anker and love the way it works. Was a pop socket user in past. Do you have any knowledge of MagSafe accessories that you can put a pop socket on? My daughter hates the way the MagSafe ones take up so much room on phone. I was looking at metisinno magnetic base. Then put old style pop socket on top. Thoughts?

Don't buy the anker grip, it scratched my case heavily because when dust or debris caught in the magnet side of the anker and you try to move it it will scratch up.

Do you have a Magsafe case on your phone? The popsocket doesn't really work without a magsafe case..
