You made my son's Christmas. I usually get him your Earth or moon soap and stick it in his stocking. He got so mad because there was not one in his stocking this year. I ordered him a bunch of your soaps that he got really excited to see you make and it was one of the last gifts he opened. I just left the package untouched and just wrapped it up. He got so excited to see that you wrote a little note on the order form. He has a little shelf above his bed that he can put his special trinkets on and your soaps are on his shelf.
Another great video!! My husband is now subscribed to your channel because our grandson loves you...he's 7 months and ALWAYS stops what he is doing when he hears your voice..😂😂😂
Ellen I LOVE the beer powder and use it in my shampoo bars as well. Back in my country we use beer as a hair spray, yes specially when you have big events parties. Anyhow I know you love masculine fragrances and WSS has water and wood one that is fabulous. Soap as a dream retention is amazing and no discoloration. I think you will like it. Beautiful soap as always.
I love masculine fragrances, also! My husband insists I make his bars masculine scented and my son loves his shaving bar be masculine. I love the top. Folks kind of going away from making that top, but I have always loved that form! I love making beer soap as I was a maltster (I became a master malt maker 20 yrs. in) in a brewery for 34 years + 2 years in brewing, so I well know the Chemistry and skin benefits in beer. I guess I am behind after retirement because I didn't know about beer powder and that you told me about the powder is wonderful!!!!! Thank You so much! I will have to try it! Happy New Years 👍🎆🤗
I bought beer powder a while back and couldn't remember why I bought it - now I know what I can do with it. I made beer soap using the beer, and this sounds way faster 🙂 And yes, you do respond to comments - you have responded to all of mine 🙂 Glad you are back and publishing videos - I have learned from you and Jerika - in this bath and body journey. You two are the BEST !!!!!
I just tried something similar with my own frozen goat milk recipe. I used 1/2 goat milk and 1/2 aloe vera juice frozen and added all the powders like you did and the batter came out so creamy and smell so good. I tried another one a few days ago without the aloe vera juice and the aloe powder just all goats milk. The Aloe Vera batch came out a lot creamer I think. I'll see in a few days the difference in both. Wonderful recipe. Thanks for sharing your version. I would have never thought about using the Aloe Vera or the powder aloe.
These turned out so awesome! I had to laugh when you were talking about the top! I thought *Oh look! We have little beer foam balls bubbles!* and then you said it! Great minds, ladybug. I hope you had a wonderful, wonderful Christmas and the hope 2024 brings you sooooo many blessings!!!
Two of my favorite scents! I think these are both soft scents And they are so soothing and beautiful. I'm so glad you're soap turned out amazing. Thank you for sharing, and God bless you and your family!. 🙏
I actually have this scent but haven't tried it yet!! Thank you for the reminder! Your soap looks great and I too love the simplicity of those kind of bars. Hope you have a wonderful holiday and best wishes for the coming new year!! Much appreciate all your videos! 🥂🍾🎉
Beautifully done, as always with you! Thanks for sharing this tip about the beer soap. I saw it but was afraid to buy it… Now I will! Hope you had a Blessed Christmas and have a Happy New Year!
I love your videos and I have learned so much from you! Can you talk about your rubber mallet you use for stamping. I recently purchased my first stamp. You make stamping look so effortless ❤
I have learned so much while starting my journey into soap and lotions making. Your products are fabulous. Question how to do stack your soaps for curing? Do you leave spaces or just line them up for several weeks?
I love patchouli! Anything patchouli. I was wondering if u could do a deep dive in to fragrances for the newbies that watch you. I followed ur soap calc video and I get it! Lol but the fragrance, the IFRA, the percents…. Ohhh my! My math skills are the worse! Help!!??? I look forward to all of ur videos, your soaps are beautiful.!
The percentage for fragrance (as dictated by the IFRA) is a percentage of the oils used in the soap. So, let’s say you’re doing a standard bar mold that holds roughly 50 oz. TOTAL batch weight. Your recipe would require 30-35 oz. of oils. Say the percentage that the IFRA states you can use is 5% (like here in this video); it would be 35 x .05 (which is the same as 5%) = 1.75 oz. (By Weight) of fragrance. Hope that helps!
I'm sorry I may have missed the specific recipe for this or I am overlooking something. This soap sounds great. Would you mind posting or pointing me to this recipe, I'd really like to make it for personal use. I love patchouli and sandalwood, Thank you
I love watching your videos, thank you so much for sharing them. I’m in the UK and have recently started making cp soaps. My question is, how do you retain the fragrance in your soaps?
Hi Ellen 😀 first i want thank you for Your Channel i love it and i’m impress of your talent and Share with us ❤ i’m a french Canadian from Québec and i’m new as a soap maker 😜 and you have a lot of video 😮 i was searching in your list of video and did not find one and my question is if you have a beginner video where you share the base like soap calc and what you add in it like sugar and sodium lactate Silk in the Lye solution …. Is it affect the recipe? Because in the soap calc app there is no indication or i did not see it thank you a lot it’s a pleasure to Watch your video 🥰
I love this idea of using beer powder. I no doubt could add this to my basic goat milk soap recipe couldn’t I? As a sidenote, I’m interested in the little press you used at the end of the video to make usage of your shavings. Is this something I could get on Amazon ? Thank you for sharing your soap-making knowledge and videos. Wishing you a blessed new year❤
I make two patchouli soaps, one with sandalwood a s one with cedarwood essential oils. The sandalwood version is by far the favourite. I make a beer soap with vanilla fragrance oil and do a splash swirl with uncoloured batter, kinda looks like a glass of beer! Your soap looks amazing, and great video as usual!

I was impressed with how the finished bars compared to bars made with liquid beer. They are very similar in the end🍺

You'll love how easy the beer powder is, and the finish is wonderful🍺
I LOVE the design you made on top; it looks like Native American feathers. Beautiful!
I so love the earthy scents and masculine scents, not a flower person so patchouli sandlewood is my jam.
Hi Ellen, I love your videos, they are so inspirational and educational. I just want to say I love your nail color!

My son in law loves his beer shampoo. I may have to make him some soaps to go with it

I love your videos and I have learned so much from you! Can you talk about your rubber mallet you use for stamping. I recently purchased my first stamp. You make stamping look so effortless ❤
It's a super inexpensive mallot from Amazon, there's a link in the description box😉
@@EllenRuthSoap thank you so much! I also found your stamping video from 4 years ago. Perfect!!!
I love the top ❤
I have learned so much while starting my journey into soap and lotions making. Your products are fabulous. Question how to do stack your soaps for curing? Do you leave spaces or just line them up for several weeks?
I don't stack them, I line them up with spaces on my curing rack.

I love watching your videos, thank you so much for sharing them. I’m in the UK and have recently started making cp soaps. My question is, how do you retain the fragrance in your soaps?
I read reviews on scent retention, and the kaolin clay helps to anchor the scent too.
Funnily enough I have noticed that any soap I have added clay to retains scent better.

Beer powder would be great in a goat milk soap! And there is a link for the press in the description box😉
Hi! I love your videos! I've learned so much. Do you have pre-mixed TD in water in a bottle on your self, or do you mix it every time? Thanks!
I pre-mix👍

Hi Ellen, that is a beautiful beer soap. I will be trying these ingredients. How are you and your husband doing?
Thanks! He's recovering from surgery really well💗
Thanks for the video. In the end, how does the result compare to real beer?
The final lather is actually very similar👍
I would have thought the white would have sunk a little lower in the soap after if was poured. The ending colors were nice.
I love your videos! Can you provide the ingredients and ratios please and thank you
I have a soap recipe playlist, and here is a video with several recipes: th-cam.com/video/SO5n4uWEVO0/w-d-xo.html
Awesome thank you so much🥰
Happy new year Ellen, can i use any beer powder for this recipe? Im in the uk and cant get the one you have.

@@vernidabrown4237 about 8 lbs
Thank you for responding I love your channel you explain things so simple and your products turn out great
What size is your mold please ?
It's the Tall Triple Skinny from Workshop Heritage.
Have you ever tried NG’s Beachwood Vetiver? Now that’s one of my favorites and it’s a best seller.
Anything with patchouli is NOT for me.
Beachwood Vetiver sounds amazing, I'll have to give it a try!
@@EllenRuthSoap I took 20 bars made with that FO to an event this past summer and sold out.
Can we get the recipe??

Hello thank you for sharing your knowledge, it has helped me to understand quite a bit!
I was interested in doing biblically themed soaps, such as fragrances the bible mentions like spikenard from John 12:3.
come to find out: authentic or pure spikenard is costly.
I'm new to soap in general and probably will attempt it one day with that scented oil.
But if you give it a shot I would enjoy seeing it used and your imput on how it reacts and whatnot.
Thank you and bless you all in Jesus Christ
Love this suggestion❣️
