🟥 DISCLAIMER: I make these videos to share my own personal methods and techniques for how I make cold process soap. These videos are not intended as tutorials for beginners. The content I create is intended for those who already have an understanding of cold process soap making. Cold process soapmaking involves working with sodium hydroxide (NaOH, also referred to as lye). Lye and raw soap can permanently damage your eyes and burn your skin. When making soap, you should already know and practice lye safe handling procedures and always wear safety gear during the entire soapmaking process, even while cleaning up. I didn’t realize until editing that I went the wrong direction when I did the circling part of my circling Taiwan swirl. 🤣 I still love the soap, but I think the ends would have looked nicer had I circled clockwise. It’s one of my favorite swirls to do. Thank you for watching! - Holly :)

Thank you so very much for your video,my question is do you have to add citric acid and s lactate ? I thought is must to add them ?
I tried your recipe two times. The first time I thought I must have done something wrong. It was very lye heavy tested in the 11/12 PH range. I tried it again a few days later and the same thing happened. prior to beginning I always put the recipe into so Calc the soap your recipe had all the right bells, bar quality numbers all seem to be within zone as does the water to lye ratio. I’ll try again with one of my own recipes. I do love your instructional videos. Thank you for the inspiration..
The pH level of a soap does not indicate that the soap is lye heavy. That is a myth! It is quite normal for handcrafted soap to have high pH, especially when first made. You will know if it is lye-heavy by doing a zap test.
Hi Holly! Thank you so much for your beautiful videos. They are so helpful to me. I have a question. I make tallow soap. Every time I use shea or cocoa butter I end up with stearic spots. I have to soap hotter with tallow, usually around 120-130. I melt my hard oils first and then add the liquids. Do you have any suggestions that might help? Thank you!
I love the Taiwan swirl, I think it looks so cool! I noticed you went the other direction when you started the swirl lol, I thought well maybe she's trying it the other way this time, but it still came out pretty 😊. I was wondering why you use Lard instead of beef tallow? I love tallow in my soaps and body butters ❤. I have the owl molds too, I love owls.
