      I haven't found any. Although I liked the Chameleon diy, which Was rebranded... Both that I own broke. But I fixed it and modified and love it. Bad at all! Wish there's better aftermarket ones that have the dynamic braking.... Plz gomexus!

    Have you had to deal with getting your jdm reels serviced or parts needed yet? One of the main things holding me back from ordering a jdm reel. Sucks that this is pretty much the best option we have for bfs saltwater.

    • @rawrfishing
      @rawrfishing  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I haven't but that's likely because I got a ton of setups and a simple rinse been good for me. But I am gonna fiddle more next year for salt and I think I will need to find a service guy! I suck at servicing.. Especially lately... Getting old and my hand dexterity been declining and even vision lol... Simple stuff I can do.. But imma just send it off and call it a day!

    Hey Rawr (are you Hmong, btw?). I was wondering what you would say is your ABSOLUTE favorite BFS reel. It could be either Daiwa or Shimano. I want a reel to mainly fish 2g and up (10g max maybe?). I would use it for stream trout fishing, as well as finesse bass fishing. I want it to do short distance, as well as long distance casting well. I’m definitely a Daiwa guy, but I don’t mind either way. I would be willing to buy a roro/aftermarket spool, or whatever else.

      @rawrfishing  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I am American born Chinese.
      I would use two reels and two rods for that large range.
      While Shimano curado and Daiwa Alphas SV TW 800S would both be reels that can handle that range... The 2 gram, require less and light line where as the 10 gram would do better with more line and potentially a heavier rod.

    I never like the fixed inductor cup, to be honest i think it kinda stupid, that's why i never buy any roro spool or get the Silver Creek reel, because short cast can be accommodate by the flick of the wrist or can adjust wrist when you cast, when you need distance cast you have it with other reel; for example like the Alphas Air TW. the dynamic inductor cup is great already, you can do everything the fixed inductor and even better. So i call fixed inductor cup it's full of BS in the case. Change my mind?

      Ahhh.. you see.. i felt the same when when I first used Roro spools. But their spools works so well and been getting better, so I always like to play with em. While im no physics expert, I am leaning towards your opinion as well. The issue is that we have pretty much not many good aftermarket spools with a dynamic cup. Rays and Chameleon DIY broke on me. But after i fixed and tweaked the Chameleon DIY for my Tatula 100 and Alphas Air TW, i love it a lot. This is why I have agreed to consult with Gomexus to see if they would make dynamic braking bfs spools for daiwa and they delivered their first one for the Tatula 80 and said more to come in the future. I have asked Roro to make some dynamic braking spools a few times, but they seems to be set in their ways. I hope that Gomexus will stay in the spool game and become a strong competitor with Roro and potentially influence them to take a leap and explore dynamic spools.

    Dude, take it with a grain of salt: you need to re-spool your reel! You got a nasty curve on your spool at 2:42 How do you expect to cast well and show us the mojo???

    • @rawrfishing
      @rawrfishing  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      First off, I'm not a perfectionist... Nor am I perfect in any ways. This is a cast testing session... This reel and spool and rod are all new to me... I am here EXPLORE how the spool works. I'm not here to make TV quality commercials... You get to see how real life people play with fishing toys here. If you have expectations of me being the best angler or content creator, that's not gonna happen! I'm just a broken old guy with joint pains and I am still sick as we speak...
      But on the topic... I did realize that the line is going funky... Perhaps the worm gear was designed for the stock spool which is a super narrow spool... Thus the line management doesn't look too nice?
      But I also do know that using a line counter to spool on line does make it off to the side and I usually fix that by casting a heavier lure... Don't think I did that before the cast testing session... But looking at the video from your time stamp... It wasn't so bad that I personally believe that It would not impede in any casting performance.
      Lastly, u good bro? U went from a happy commenter to a an OCD demon with critical feedback lol. Although I am happy to have these feed back as it allows me to make better videos... I just wanna make sure ur good! Happy holidays

    • @rawrfishing
      @rawrfishing  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Lol, u know... I am also the type of guy who Feather my spool sometimes as I reel. It's part of my drag control process... That also changes the way line gets collected. Some to think about!

      @pequenioedgarito3067 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@rawrfishing Jimmy. Its not about perfectionist. Its about making sure your gear has a minimum standard. The question still is: how can you get a good cast/casting distance when your reel is not evenly spooled? Its like someone telling you “hey , you have low air in your tire” and you dont realize that improper inflation leads to poor gas milage and stress on your car.
      And its not about being OCD (like some other commenter stated) because I am not. So I hope that you and other viewers understand that my comment is not to be derogatory or offense. Its to help. Its making sure the gear, tackle, line, reel, rod are at a base standard. I will still be subscribed to your channel because you are the few that actually get on the water and show us how its done.

      @@pequenioedgarito3067 So i looked at all my photos and also my reel and there isn't a problem and won't be a problem impeding my cast testing. What you have seen from the timestamp you have shared is likely the Fish Eye effect from wide angle recording where everything is pretty warped as it is further away from the center of the camera. The SMALL little portion of the spool you have seen is pretty much at the edge, making it SUPER warped.
      I am happy to get critical feedback. I am a small content creator who does everything myself. What i feel is that i made is fine for me.. but obviously the video is not made for me.. it's for you! So I am happy to hear that you are giving feedback. and i can tell, you watch my videos and pay attention to every little details. You don't know how much I appreciate the feedback. I just thought that you went from a happy commenter to a potentially upset viewer. The last comment you made on my spooling line video seemed pretty upset and so was this. Anyone who starts off with "Take it with a grain of salt" as a way to dampen a comment, likely have some strong feelings. So I just wanted to make sure everything is good bro.
