I love the video very sweet keep up the videos!!! one suggestion get a set of silicone wiper blades from PIAA you will never have that awful sound of squeaky wiper blades again I run them on all my rigs. Rubber wiper blades are horrible the big wiper blade companies don't want people to know about Silicone they will last for years. That is what you call bad for business if you own a wiper blade company. The silicone will leave a waxy bead residue like rainx check them out you will not be sorry. You should do a video on silicone wiper blades vs rubber that would be awesome thanks bro!!

Just an FYI don't disturb standing water in old mines not a good idea can release toxic air trapped. Can be deadly. But great video awesome adventure. Very happy I stumbled on this channel 👍👍

Spent a lot of nights in that tower. Trust me the wind gets much worse. Canada day 2007 every square inch of that mountain top was covered un ladybugs. Never seen anything like it

I did a six month trip across North America last year in my Wrangler and I’ve gotten so many ideas from you before I left and built our my Jeep for overlanding. Not telling you what to do, but, pulling with your winch like you did is not a good idea. You could break your line or worse, I've seen a hook come back and go through a radiator doing the same thing.
It's not a steel line, it's synthetic rope. Doesn't have the same kinetic energy.

If you use some wheel bearing grease on that winch hook would that be enough to keep the mechanism free enough to use? I'd rather get dirt and dust in there sticking to the grease a bit rather than freezing it up with ice.

@@TheStoryTillNow WD40 is only a temporary lubricant at best and isn't really intended for lubrication purposes and is more of a cleaner that displaces water. Very few of its ingredients are considered a lubricant. Instead, Ballistol is a much better alternative to WD40 for lubrication purposes. Ballistol is almost like a halfway point between an oil and a grease during most temperatures. It goes on like an oil and clings like a grease.

I watch these videos and wonder how these young men have the time and money to do these excursions. It's like everyone is retired. This is a great thing. I would make thesetravel adventures if I could.
This is my job so thats how I have the time and money. It took a lot of grinding to get to that point though.
The winching of the fallen tree makes me chuckle. Myself, the wife, and the in laws/close family friends were at the top of the peak getting ready to start a fire here in WA. The samurai was pulling a tree up the hill, sounded like a chainsaw wide open. Good times.

I would have been nervous about the drone motors freezing up and it dropping out of the sky haha. The flurries you could see from its vantage were dope.
Weathermen... week ago last day hunting season called for blue skies and it snowed all day on top of ice. Several times the rear of our jeep tried to pass the front. We chained up for the cliff section, everyone in the mountains off-roading should cary a set of chains

i am fascinated by this endless nature that you can explore! i am from switzerland and everything is overregulated here so that there is not really a feeling of freedom. nice to watch you guys!
You should really get a better set of chains. Those horizontal only chains don't provide anything in the way of sideslip protection and don't work well at all if the vehicle has ABS. it actually makes braking worse in many cases. Look into chains from Konig like Polar HD Chains.

A lesson learnt the hard way.
I Now always attach the winch hook to the shackle with several heavy duty electrical ties (some can be unthreaded and re-used) that can be cut/snipped off, or tied on w/rope. A frozen hook is easier to deal with and more importantly, accidentally hitting the IN vice OUT winch direction will do no harm to winch nor shackle.
A lesson I now employ ...
look at the left side, almost a left top corner 2:52. Fish takes some air.
Probably just the Army in me but you guys do not seem kitted out for the weather. sneaker, no sleeping bags. iphones for flashlights no toques/ gloves. yikes. hopefully you have the gear tucked away in case of emergency.?
It's all fun n games till you are stuck in snow with the sun going down. Always pack extra warm, water, food, chains, kindling / lighter . Never ever go into snow treks without a second vehicle . Trust me .

why don't you use soft shackles with the winch? interesting you took the drone up in that snowy conditions, epic shots but could get moisture in the motors. does freedom recovery have recommended recovery they use? do you have any problems with your led headlights filling with snow?

thats why i don't use that kind of winch hook. it moves slow, so theres next to zero reasons for having a lock on it as you would for a tow rope. Just my opinion
