Listening to your story of perseverance to reach a struggling client, brought me to tears. Thank you for helping that woman who clearly needed your compassion and help.
I have been trying to find a coach or therapist in the US that could do the same for me .... after 5 failed attempts (somehow my problems illicit contempt instead of compassion here), I am glad to hear that my counterparts there was the lucky recipient of that which I seek to no avail here.
Thank you for your humanity to that client ❤

Keep trying cuz it’s normal. It took me 20 people before I found what I was looking for. Ask for 10-15 min free intro and see if it’s a fit. I’m in the USA and I can share contacts if you want

@@tatianahawaii13 I agree. In my experience (and others I know):
25% of therapists are outright bad at their job
      50% are just sympathetic parrots

I have had chronic illness not depression for many years and it is very common for us to see the behavior of health professional: hopeless. It is like we have to manage their feelings. It is very sad. I try not to go see health professionals as much because they r hopeless. We patients aren’t …. Amazingly sad

Mark, I am not sure if you read the comments on your TH-cam videos, but I am very, very happy to see you back. This video coincidentally was released at a time when I feel like I am failing my clients.

    Brilliant!
Thank you for also mentioning feeling other’s emotions. Every one is an empath. I realised the hard way wondering why I (normally in love with all life) felt so angry I could kill walking back from town. I have to pass drug dealers🤔 Now I feel a huge sadness while shopping. I’m sure you can catch emotions from the atmosphere. Hoping we can infect the air with good vibes.

Why not be honest? There might be a different therapist with better "chemistry". And when the client has had four therapists in a row, this tells a story that has to be told and the client has to see that.

I am really curious about why was Denise in such a state. Story about Robert was really funny to me because it reminded me of myself. Thank you a lot for this video because it made me understand my past. I went to therapy 2 times a month for a year and a half and I was getting worse the whole time. Now I see that my therapist was using some of these tehniques on me, unfortunately without any progress. In the end, I quit therapy and was in a dark place for a long time. I though not even therapy can help me (medications also didn't help), and that I was the problem, that I was doing something wrong, so it made me feel even worse. If I can even say that, because at that time I literally wasn't capable of feeling emotions. I was also angry on my therapist for not doing good enough, because I thought everyone who come to therapist is in my condition or worse. But this video gave me perspective. I didn't know how challenging it was for my therapist to approach me. Now I am in a better place, thanks to God. Thank you a lot for your videos, your stories are entertaining and approach to problems very insightful. All the best

I find it very helpful. Sometimes I find a technique that I can utilize myself.
Sometimes I am able to say to myself "I knew that old therapist was full of 💩. They should have said/done ____"
And other times I say to myself "I have to remember this with the new therapist"

As counsellors and psychotherapists we should not be tempted to wipe away client tears. This is rescuing or in a way asking the client to stop..bye offering tissues. The tissues should be placed within the clients reach..and the client autonomy whether to use the tissues or not.Thanks.

    • @Nyx773
      @Nyx773 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I fully agree.
In healthy 12-step meetings, this is also the case.
Offering a tissue during someone’s share is usually viewed as cross-talk (interrupting someone’s train of thought)
