Live version from 1970 is the best it shows you who Elvis was as a performer....

With Elvis sometmes there's more than one way to experience a song that makes it worthwhile to react twice. That's because he's both a hall of fame recording artist and an unparalleled performer. The record you played is the best audio performance of this song. But the version he presented in Vegas 70 gives other dimensions of entertainment and a vibe that can only be heard and observed when he was on stage. Great reaction!

I love Elvis. Grew up 60 miles from where he grew up in Mississippi. Later he bought a home outside of Memphis. Called it Graceland. Bought it for his mother who he loved dearly. Every Christmas, he threw a party for disabled and under privilege children. I had a cousin who contracted polio when he was five. We were lucky enough to be invited to his Christmas Party when Bubba and I were 13 or 14 but we didn't go because I believe Bubba was ill. It was a long time ago. Bubba died five years later. He had lived vicariously through me for years so I felt like a part of me died too. Sorry about the story. I love Suspicious Mind. Jailhouse Rock is a great song from his film King Creole. You asked if there was a bad song by Elvis. The answer is NO!! One of the greats is I DID IT MY WAY. I believe it was Frank Sinatra's song but Elvis blows it out of water!! I watch all your reactions. Love your site. So happy you are a Christian. God bless you and your wife. (don't know if you have children) Have a blessed Thankgiving. The female voices weren't that of The Sweet Inspirations, in case anyone mistakenly believes that. I became an Elvis fan when this first came on the radio in August of 1969.
Mark James wrote and recorded this. Elvis kept most of the original arrangement. Mark's 80 now. You should listen to his version, privately at least. Mark was good friends with recently deceased B.J. Thomas. B. J. did an outstanding version of this song.
B. J. Thomas did a great version..Have you ever heard the version by Dee Dee Warrick, (Dionne's Sister, Cissy Houston's Niece and Whitney's first cousin.) Very nice version..Little more soulful. It's on You Tube

Burning love, from 72 was actually also number 1 in USA, but on cash box (most selling record) but at that time billboard rated a song as a combination of sold records AND airplay and that made the song reach "only" number 2 on the top 100 . I would highly recommend you listen to that one too . It was in MEN in Black 1 .
The 1970 Las Vegas performance is a much better one, as it shows Elvis doing some athletic dance moves, & is the most popular video as far as his fans go. Great Reaction as always.
You have to do a comparisson reaction to Elvis liveversion to Suspicious Minds from 1970. The same goes for Hound Dog 1956 Ed Sullivan show.

Just thought I could give you little lesson, Elvis was not from Tenn. He is from the town of Tupelo, MS. And his birthday of Jan. 8 is the same as my wife's, which I find awesome.

Certainly there were no bad vocals, as Elvis voice was always in perfect pitch & range, but his manager made some catastrophic decisions for keeping him pigeon holed into the movies he hated. The scripts & music got so bad, that in 1968, Elvis made a spectacular comeback.
