- North Atlanta Dance Theatre, under the artistic direction of Michael Garrison, performs The Nutcracker each year the first weekend in December. You may order tickets by calling (770) 772-8000. The performance takes place at Blessed Trinity Fine Arts Theater in Roswell, GA.
Katie Cloninger dances Dewdrop, and the corps consists of professionals and advanced student dancers from North Atlanta Dance Academy.

Ballerinas always amaze me. To be so fluidly flexible and being able to distribute all of your weight onto the tips of your toes is an incredible feat that takes countless hours of training.
I am rose in our local nutcracker this year! :)
Excellent performance. Well choreographed and nearly perfect synch. This is one of my favorite pieces of ballet and as a straight guy that takes guts to admit.
But I wonder what would happen if the lead dancer slipped and fell into the orchestra pit?
im doing the nutcracker in school and im doing the waltz of the flowers soo prettyyy:) love this dance /song
this song always makes me so happy and bubbely^_^ it's truely wonderful!
Given that these dancers you watched have mostly genius IQ's, they should be able to find any job they want after they enjoy their youth dancing. Don't be fooled by how lovely they dance.
At least they could be dancers if they wanted to and have that option, unlike a lot of other brainiacs.
Yes, I wish I could write music like this ...
..but in answer to your question, I think, it is in part due to the kind of "new" music that gets sponsored (by corporate sponsors), or encouraged (by music faculty) or performed - at concerts...
i do point and guess what its not easy!
you put some point shoes on and see how it is.
ballet is beautiful its not a popularity contest
so why dont you do some research before you open your mouth.
Lovely. What happens to them when they get old? Do they teach younger students or write books on dance. Dance is kinesthetic intellignece, it's so alien to me.
i always have to be the lead person when i do the nutcracker!!!! i have to be clara i hate it cus i rly dont get to do anything!
i feel like nowadays no one can do music like in those days... why is that??
they look lovely but at the beginning they arent quite in time unfortunatly.. nor are they spaced evenly
i can play this on the piano c; but NOT the 6 mins addition :S
Great! You will really enjoy it. BTW-- this is North Atlanta Dance Theatre (NOT Atlanta Ballet). The number to call for tickets is (770) 772-8000.
There was applause in this live performance, but the music behind this video is directly from the CD, not the live audio.
It is in Roswell, Georgia, USA
i was just looking for a random waltz... SO MUCH BETTER!!!!
I suppose that is relative to where you are in the world. Roswell is close to Atlanta, GA.
i love the song but hearing it about ten times a day gets pretty annoying!
Which school is this?
Most of the corps for Waltz and Snow are high school students, and there are a few middle school students in Snow. There are a few professionals-- Dew Drop, Snow Queen, and some of the demi-soloists. Overall, a talented cast of advanced dance students.
it's harder than it seems trust me. i used to get blisters all the time whe i first started and my nails would rip-give them a little more credit at least
danced to 6 different choreographies of this waltz and they were so alike. Now mark morris is the best since he totally listened to the music. He made it quiet different.
omg i love this dance iwas a flower in 4th grade with a friend!!!
When it comes to new music, dissonance and experimentation still reign supreme - music that harks back to the romantic era is looked down upon by the music elite.
That's how it has been for a whole century.
When Prokofiev first started composing, his early compositions were quite romantic - inspired by Chopin - but they were scoffed at by his professors.
He never wrote like that again....
Ditto. This has to be the most popular Nutcracker piece..in fact, it's the last piece in the Suite (which only has a select few pieces).
I love the ending...just how the music builds and then stops, it's just perfect
I know, I started pointe in the summer and at first it was really hard for me, especially holding my turnout. But it gets easier as you go along and it's pretty fun
My apologies on the low music level. I will soon be posting the 2007 version, which will have better audio.
your like me! i wanted to get on pointe sooo badly and then wen i got on it it hurt so much lol but it is really pretty
First weekend in December, Blessed Trinity Fine Arts Theatre, Roswell, GA. Come on down!

You're mom is in this play.
Dance of the sugar plum fairies is even worse... every time i see a christmas commercial with that song i want to barf! :) but I still love preforming in the nutcracker.

me too. it's not that i had to quit, it was just more i quit hehehe.
I wish I were a poet so I could write a song using this most wondrous tune.
Quite amazing this year I was Fritz (it has nothing to do with act 2 but any ways5/5
Not quite, but close enough.
Mozart's Elvira Madigan beats it, as does chopin's 467
Go cellos!!!!!!
We played this song at our Winter Concert at school it was AMAZING!!
This stage has a safety net over the pit.
Sublime
