My 13 year old boy has learned to play this song from you tube and recently performed it at his school on a grand piano. One of the proudest moments in my life so far.
It is called as "Moonlight Sonata" because once a blind girl asked Beethoven how did the moon and the night looked like. And this masterpiece was Beethoven's reply!
My father played this as a master pianist. At 12 years of age I taught myself from his music sheet for months in secret.. He came home one evening early and asked my mother who was playing the piano. His tears warmed my heart forever. Diolch am y profiad. Caru ti am byth.
This has been one of my favorite piano solos to listen to over and over again. I started to play this when i was 6 years of age. At nearly 83 i still play it at least once a week.

I found that there are so many funny comments here, thinking that Moonlight sonata is about describing the night sky and the moon. Moonlight Sonata is actually about missing someone so badly, the desperation, the sweetness of love that still lingers, the bitterness of disappointment and then the madness caused by missing that one person so very bad. It has nothing to do with the night sky. Edit: whoa, thx for so many likes. I do understand that some people think that music can be freely interpreted, however in classical music, to disregard the original inspiration of the composer, IMHO is being disrespectful. Just because music doesnt have words, doesnt mean it shouldnt be understand deeply. Imagine if this Sonata is a poem that you write about your unrequited love, you poured your sadness, longing n disappointment into your poem and then some people interpret that your poem is actually about something totally unrelated which is the beauty of the moon.
Yeah 1st movement is missing someone so badly, the desperation 2nd movement is the love that still lingers And the 3rd movement being the bitterness of disappointment and the madness The whole entire feel of the sonata
The most perfect melancholic song , written by a genius who was deaf at the moment but despite his hearing condition , using frequencies managed to turn music into vibration that he could detect and that is exactly why this song has this magnificent effect of purifying your soul . WOW!! I just said to myself "Whoever arranged this is a master!!" I wish more people appreciated how complex this process was. Watching Amadeus woke me up to this.
5 years ago I started to take piano lessons after I saw your videos on youtube, thank you so much, you changed my life, for real. When I hear this I still feel like the first time, you truly are a hero to me. Music is limitless, notes has no limit unlike the words. We can reach God through it. Sorry for bad English.. This is this mornings meditation music and it gives me chills the entire time. By the end I was crying. To see where this man came from being a super shy guy just supporting his friend auditioning on Britains got talent to him being the one that was found and turns out he is a virtuoso without any formal training. WOW!
What’s most appealing to me is the balance between the piano and orchestra. The melody of the piano is always dominant with the orchestra giving quiet support in the background.
Beautifully played. I wonder what Maestro Beethoven would think when people born more than 200 years after his death are still playing and listening to his magnificent musical masterpiece. I think even Beethoven would be moved.
i listen to this all day. its probably the best moonlight sonata i've heard. the orchestra adds a whole different emotion to this. extremely sublime, divine, eternal, peaceful. i'll run out of words to describe this🥺🥺❤️

Imagine a pianist playing this delicate piece of music…it is the adhesive that keeps the entire orchestra together moving gracefully through countless bars…bravo well done!!!
This is one of the most beautiful versions of the moonlight sonata I've ever heard! I really enjoyed listening to this. But if I had to cough so much, I would have gone outside, to not disturb the musicians and the listeners. I understand that it's difficult to hold it in though...
Beautiful with the orchestra. This young man does a great job of making the melody under his little finger sing. I remember learning this early on and that was the thing my teacher pointed out to me to work on. When you are first learning to play, that's a bit more of a trick than first meets the eye and I was probably 10 or 11 and just starting to learn the "inside game". But it's a learning process, and this young man does it very well. The notes are the easy part, then there's the emotion that actually makes the piece what it is. Well done my friend!
I used to think that every performance of a piece was the same, when I heard you perform I realized how wrong I was, it's simply amazing, exciting, divine, you can't stop listening. Thank you❤
Wow, thank you! Yes, actually this is the only version for piano and symphony orchestra, which I arranged more than 12 years ago. I am happy that it has more than 10 millions as of today.
The consistency low key piano notes to show how the night skies remain dark with no Sunlight, only moonlight. Other high musical notes from different instruments to replicate the night vibes and sounds, weather etc. I don’t even know what I’m talking about just a straight feeling that I’m directly having with this song first time I’ve heard it in a while.
This piece has nothing to do with the night sky. Moonlight sonata is a piece written about heartbreak, missing someone so badly, so painful, haunted by memories, the sweetness of love that still lingers but leads to madness and desperation because that love is out of reach. NOTHING TO DO with night sky or moon.
This performance made me realize how important to "watch" music while played. And it is a magical performance of Moonlight, but watching the pianist makes it divine. He seems out of this world as if he is literally inside the piano itself.
Took piano lesson until I was 14. In college, and 20 years old, I woke dreaming of this song. I searched through my old music until I found it. I signed up to take piano lessons with Professor Emeritus, Anne Liva. Took lessons from her for 2 years, then started teaching. 1983 when my daughter was 5, I took her for lesson to Mrs. Liva. One day my son, 3 years old, asked “When is it my turn?” Mrs. Liva sat him down, & taught him most of the songs in the beginning book. When it was Recital time, Mrs. Liva called my son up to play! He put his stuffed dog o the end of the piano, and played 3 songs perfectly! 🥰
I think this is the most beautiful piece of music ever, I really do. It stops me in my tracks every time I hear it and sends me into a calm trance. Nothing else in the world does this to me.
So very nice, thanks! I don't know classical music so good, when I heard this I thought it was very good. The pianist plays with a great feeling, don't think I heard this piece so good before. Then I start to think "is it usually an orchestra with the piano?" I then read the info. The orchestra part is really lifting the music, and I think it's a perfect match with the character of the original piano piece. Really good (sorry for bad English)
All you people that have the great gift of being able to play music like this cannot know how my heart breaks that I did not learn music growing up. I desperately wanted to learn to play music, but my mother would not let me. I love music and have been learning to play a viola. I have certain conditions that mean it is difficult for me to learn things in a normal way. It is hard, but I am trying. I am so sad at the time wasted. As I am old now, there isn’t enough time to be competent.
Do not be sad! There is and always has been music in your heart, and there are those of us who hear it and rejoice! God gave this to you so that we might be joyful and blessed to know you. Please learn as much as you can and enjoy the time left, for one day you will make music with the angels!
I feel so attached to this piece. It's just mesmerizing, words are not enough to express the feeling I get wherever I hear this piece. When I die I want this piece to be played in my funeral. Dark, gloomy but at the same time a ray of light through a small gap, waiting to be reached but it's not easy, near but far, that is how I describe this piece.
To me, this is one of the most beautiful moving, hypnotizing, relaxing pieces of music ever composed. This will help sooth the rough edges of the COVID Pandemic of 2020. If only all the world could listen to it...
Now imagine the mind of a person who would write this on paper, hearing it in their mind…every instrument, every movement, arrangement, all of it in their brain long before anyone ever saw or practiced it. All of these amazing artists are just a representation of the genius of a single person who was playing all their parts in their head prior…it’s truly insane.
Thank you, Georgii, i was stuck in Kempf's impression and somehow deceived about Beethoven's chances to revival. Somehow, my faith in humanity and moving on while preserving the values we cherish is restored because of you.

Hi Mariza. I wasn't sure if you was being funny with me, and i went a little too heavy on you. Sorry for that. Anyway no harm done, so let's make peace, ok? ..Ciao, e stammi bene.

I love how the pianist plays with so much passion. What a masterpiece
I wish my lover touch me the way this pianist touch his piano
That's true. So gently and synesthimatic. Nice comment
@@jimmy_Peaker . . . . ich kann es,

Maybe you should have this playing when your lover comes over.
How about telling him/her what you like.
I was thinking the same. What a lover he would be You can tell he is savoring every note and seems like he is playing with otherworldly souls in his mind
I find this very relaxing music takes you away from the awful things in the world today
Am glad for you to think like this, your right : )
Of this piece u can clear your mind and relax its because beethoven could feel the piano he didnt need to hear it so yeah thats how..
And three months after your comment the world is even more awful. Thus, I have come here to listen to this piece of music to feel some peace.

Huh. I never thought of him that way, but he is my favorite composer and definitely speaks to a deep sadness inside of me... In a way that feels healing and also like it's truer than any words I could use to try and describe it.
Lovely
I only came across this piece of music by accident but can’t stop playing it because it’s so beautiful, watching Georgii play the piano is almost spell binding
Truly fitting for the eminence in shadow
WOW!! I just said to myself "Whoever arranged this is a master!!" I wish more people appreciated how complex this process was. Watching Amadeus woke me up to this.
Thank you so much! 😊
You're right, what makes this version the best one is the great arrangement.
I just wanted to thank you.. ❤
I'm just starting to discover Piano world... truly yours.... from Chile
This is this mornings meditation music and it gives me chills the entire time. By the end I was crying. To see where this man came from being a super shy guy just supporting his friend auditioning on Britains got talent to him being the one that was found and turns out he is a virtuoso without any formal training. WOW!
When the piano starts..I feel like entering a forest dark, mysterious, but I hear beautiful sound dan mesmerized me so I never want to get out of it.
Same😢
I think it's horror music 🎶🎵
Wah warga +62..
Rivela il divino che e' in noi.
I fear not the man who has practiced every song once. But the man that practiced a song a thousand times.
That's deep.
Taken from the quote of Bruce Lee.. 🤣
Makes no sense, why would you fear someone who can play a song perfectly? lol
I don’t understand the quote. Is it saying it’s a bad thing to practice a song over and over? That’s what I do. It’s the only way I can really learn.
@@mamadoom9724 No it not saying the bad thing. It mean we admire people who persistently practice something over and over again until perfection.
At 2:05 the music was passing through his entire body. Absolutely beautiful, and powerful.
What’s most appealing to me is the balance between the piano and orchestra. The melody of the piano is always dominant with the orchestra giving quiet support in the background.
300 years later and it is still a masterpiece not to mention he went deaf at 34.this is talent
Beautifully played. I wonder what Maestro Beethoven would think when people born more than 200 years after his death are still playing and listening to his magnificent musical masterpiece. I think even Beethoven would be moved.
In my opinion it is the single most emotion filled piece of music ever composed. Gets me every single time
It always runs through my veins and my soul; I will keep on playing this masterpiece until my last day🥹💕
What would the world be without art and music of this kind? Nothing but superficial and empty voids.❤🔥🥀
i listen to this all day. its probably the best moonlight sonata i've heard. the orchestra adds a whole different emotion to this.
extremely sublime, divine, eternal, peaceful. i'll run out of words to describe this🥺🥺❤️

dude played the piece like he is playing on a monster or something, he really is putting his emotions and life while playing the piece
I'm sure he is: there's no other way.
One of the absolute loveliest versions I’ve ever heard.
Dreamy 💕💕💕💕
Thank you so much! 💕
Imagine a pianist playing this delicate piece of music…it is the adhesive that keeps the entire orchestra together moving gracefully through countless bars…bravo well done!!!
Beethoven had such an orderly mind, yet managed to create exquisitely intricate music.Highly evolved artists are truly gifts of flesh & blood
The pianist made a dramatic appearance like was dreaming and flying ...a way of playing straight from soul

Beautiful, thank you very much.
Music is a mystery... Who finds it.. Gets lost for eternity..
Well said
I agree .
Yes.... beautiful 🎶🎹🎵😻
Making music is one of man’s greatest achievements that his Creator is very pleased with.
One of the most beautiful pieces of music ever played
he didn't play that song he lived that song you really are the best ❤
That was an incredible example of Moonlight. I'm really impressed with this piano player.
😜😜😛🎃👻💀🤬😠😡

Lol this guy trying to subtly flex he’s a piano master
Bravo!!!!
This was perfection. I can see Beethoven, in his mind's eye, playing and conducting this Master Class.
The consistency low key piano notes to show how the night skies remain dark with no
Sunlight, only moonlight.
Who are the 2.7K giving this a thumbs-down? I am a purist, but this arrangement is magnificent!
Beethoven lives on. Forever.
My 16 yr old grandson just played this at one of the conservatories in Paris last week. Touches the heart!
There will never be any music better than this Moonlight Senata.
This performance made me realize how important to "watch" music while played. And it is a magical performance of Moonlight, but watching the pianist makes it divine. He seems out of this world as if he is literally inside the piano itself.
👍😀
Wait, he plays like that AND looks like Val Kilmer? I’m shook. This is a stunning rendition.
My god!
Got goosebumps.
The pianist and his emotions while pressing those keys....
Mesmerizing.
Maestro Cherkin is world famous Bulgarian pianist and composer!
Liva. One day my son, 3 years old, asked “When is it my turn?”
Mrs. Liva sat him down, & taught him most of the songs in the beginning book.
When it was Recital time, Mrs. Liva called my son up to play! He put his stuffed dog o the end of the piano, and played 3 songs perfectly! 🥰
Someone in 2022? Bethoven Forever!! :)

@@NaveenKumarErroju Yes my dear find 😉😎
Here I am🥲
I think this is the most beautiful piece of music ever, I really do. It stops me in my tracks every time I hear it and sends me into a calm trance. Nothing else in the world does this to me.
So very nice, thanks! I don't know classical music so good, when I heard this I thought it was very good. The pianist plays with a great feeling, don't think I heard this piece so good before. Then I start to think "is it usually an orchestra with the piano?" I then read the info. The orchestra part is really lifting the music, and I think it's a perfect match with the character of the original piano piece. Really good (sorry for bad English)
Thank you so much! I am happy that you liked it!

Beethoven is the master! This is the very relaxing music, and the real music of angels. Thank you! 🤍
To me, this is one of the most beautiful moving, hypnotizing, relaxing pieces of music ever composed. This will help sooth the rough edges of the COVID Pandemic of 2020. If only all the world could listen to it...
Piano guy so young and SO good!!! Plays like old soul....
One of the most beautiful pieces ever composed.
Thanks!
Allow me to buy you a coffee.
Dear Moy, this was so kind of you, I will get a coffee thinking of you! :)
@@GeorgiiCherkinlove to hear that, surely l love your piano performance, keep going my friend.
Felicidades Georgii.
The movement of this beautiful peace, played by this extraordinary pianist had me moved to tears. Breathtakingly melancholy and beautifully executed.
This song have , all that feelings you can feel on your entire life.
Listen evey night, you will fall asleep
Thank you, Georgii, i was stuck in Kempf's impression and somehow deceived about Beethoven's chances to revival. Somehow, my faith in humanity
and moving on while preserving the values we cherish is restored because of you.
Georgii, you're a fantastic pianist. One can really see how much emotion, passion and love you put into playing. Beethoven would be proud to play along your side.
Thank you so much, Shizaho!
