I guess it’s technically faster but getting rid of the nice crisp shifts really turns me away from doing the TCM tune. That roll into next gear just bothers me. Looking forward to see how it does at the track!

@@DroppinGearz I’m not a tuner by any means but I also feel like that may build more heat technically from the “slip”? How did the car behave on stock trans tune? I’m thinking about doing a setup like what you had and tuning with GPI but using the factory trans tune.

@Jaydee6.2 it’s been great for over 2 years on the set up. Drag, track, trip to the Dragon, trips to Alabama and all over FL. No complaints. I will watch for the heat and see 👍🏽

Question, hopefully youre still active. I have a 2017 A8, and I was wanting to get a TCM tune. Mainly because the downshifts are so slow when i use the paddles. Did it make any changes with the paddles in manual mode?

It should. I know in other cars when tuned the paddle shifts response is quicker. With the 10speed there’s no delay on the stock tune so no difference there. With the tune the car does shift down better on it’s own. Again, 10 speed experience. I’ve read around and the A8 is definitely better when tuned.

Try doing this on a real ZL1. Yeah good luck. Its BURIED in there behind coolers and lines and under like 95 layers of plastic covers and bolts and screws and all types of shit. What a massive pain in the ass.
