The process prior to cutting must be intense to make absolutely sure that the programs and toolpaths are rock solid.

I used one of these things as early as 1988/1994 it was an Asquith gantry with a machining head and three deep hole drilling heads. It used an Allen Bradley 3400 series operating system and was pretty advanced for its time. Only four where ever built and machined nuclear waste containment flasks amongst other big stuff. At 67 I'm retired now but it was a blast at the time.

After reading your comment, can you provide a link for a company with this sort of capacity? We are quoting a very large structure, for which drilled/milled holes and slots are spec'd to be finished after the structure is welded out. We'll probably take exception to it, but it would be nice to add as an option. Thank you.

How do you know that? What he said is true. It would be stressful. I’m a cnc machinist and programmer and I would be stressed running that equipment. No need to make assumptions and call out people you don’t know.

@marco-3670 yeah, you're definitely right. I definitely know anything about personally overseeing the production from start to finish of 70,000 dollar milled pieces of plate for government jobs or, I don't know, managing the supply chains of mechanical and machined parts for aerospace jobs for one of the largest corporations in the US.
What drives your ego mate. Show us your work!

@daddyddesign that guy is a moron. Thanks for your words. I am also a machinist and I'd have no problem saying if that doesn't make you nervous you aren't thinking enough.
