Meanwhile, I am on a Traub TND 360 with a TX-8 control and a Hermle 1200 which at least can do colours besides green. Anyway, is it getting the 0 point automatically or is that still fully manual? I also hate 42CrMo4 especially the QT stuff, kills my plates one after another.

Almost every WFL has a probe, so it can do the zeropoint automatically. What's the problem with 42CrMo4? Sure about the right grade on Insert?

It's this fancy new shit, brand new, only availabe since some 30 years or so. Called a shrink fit chuck.
The chuck is heated and expands due to the heat. The tool is put in, chuck is cooled down and shrinks again. And the result is, your chuck is brown, but the tool is held in place rock solid with minimal runout.
