oil rigs are notoriously dangerous work places. I will do a nerd moment a "erm acshually" moment the amount of stories that I hear from oil rig workers is alot and it's very dangerous first of you have to work with the deep sea and large machinery you have to be under the water for days to even weeks and going down far in the water can effect your nitrogen levels so you have to stay in clausterphobic rooms to release that build up of nitrogen and you have to stay there for like hours to days depending on how much time you spent under water. and large machinery and not to mention the cruel weather 1000 per day is underpaying it for me since I hate the deep sea.
also the average oil rig worker can earn up to almost 200k per year which is not far from a 1000 per day and they work for like 180 days per year

The $1K a day for living on an oil rig comes with quite a lot of strings. One of those is that after the government steals from your pay, its actually closer to $300 a day, Most riggers I know who pay attention to their finances say they make out with about $120k a year. Which, for the labor and working conditions, isnt nearly worth it.

Here in Norway the average yearly salary for an oil rigger is about 80K per year, the only place it's higher is in Australia where it's about 90K per year. So most people are not even making 100K per year, let alone 1K per hour. And that's the average, a noob with no education is not going to be making even that, people that make lots of money are technicians, mechanics, engineers, and so on, that have work experience. Little to no education and you'll be working maintenance, as in cleaning and monitoring things, on a starter salary which is about half the average, about 40K per year. But the benefits is that you get every other month off. And it's not very dangerous either, it used to be, but with modern safety regulations it's not anymore.

Not an oil rig at sea but for 2 years my dad worked at a rig in northern Canada. He tells me stories of it and they sound terrible. He said that his room was at warmest -5°c so he slept in a sleeping bag in his bed under covers. He spent so much time pulling chains that his hands would be locked in a fist grip when he woke up from just sheer tension in his tendons so he’d have to peel them open slowly with his knuckles. Him and his coworkers would regularly suffer from untreated injuries from being hit by something or falling off of something and be told to walk it off.
I cannot imagine doing it for any amount of money

7:46 - if it makes you feel any better, I'm a guy and my hair finally reached past my shoulders, and i recently started to have to use shampoo, conditioner, a leave-in conditioner. Then after a towel dry I have to spray my hair with an anti-frizz spray, blow dry my hair, then use some type of hair oil before using a flat iron to finally flatten my hair to keep it under control.
It's all a pain in the ass, but it's going to be worth it when I donate my hair to Locks of Love when some kid with cancer can get some hair too.

Eh, I mostly just missed having long hair after I got out of the Navy back in 2012, and now that I have a job where I'm in air conditioning most of the time I can get away with growing my hair out without feeling miserable out in the Texas humidity.
Might as well help out some kids when I need to cut my hair back after it gets down past my waist. It'll probably be another two years before I can make my first donation still, it has taken a little over two years now from a 0 cut all around my head to about an inch below my shoulders.

regarding the oil rig, one small accidents makes you either dead or permanently crippled, huge waves shakes the rig, huge wind, slippery surface, heavy machinery, heavy rain will fck you up, heavy manual labour, i walked on the road and a bird can dump on me, twice, the same day i slipped on some water on the floor, hurt my wrist for a week. i am not taking that risk unless its 3k per day cause i sure as hell wont last more than 2 months
