I find it mindblowing that it's not an AI voice talking in these meme videos, the reading is *so* robotic, the inflictions are way off and there is no effort in the slightest to pause for punchlines or between memes. Even more mindblowing the channel is so popular with reactors lol

I found and just recently finished watching a more wholesome cooking anime and it's an Isekai called Campfire Cooking in Another World with My Absurd Skill. Definitely recommend it, the only thing I wished was in that 1st season was an episode of the rest of the people who got summoned with him, also wished MC grew a spine as he trained to fight. Otherwise it's a nice and mostly cozy anime

Since we're talking about anime memes, I feel like Hellsing Ultimate is something of an anime equivalent of Metal Gear Rising. The show takes itself very seriously (for the most part), despite being absolutely insane.

To give a bit more detail about it. In visual media, such as anime, movies and mangá, one of the things you need to be aware of is "visual clarity," as a lack of visual clarity, or at worst, bad visual clarity may confuse the audience, making it hard for them to focus on the story, or even making them perceive things wrongfully. Thus, making things easier for the audience to consume the media is an important task.
Now, there are various ways to do this. Having them be very different from one another is one of them, but it's not one that's always available. So, in cases such as those, having characters possess different hair-colours is a good crutch, it also makes them more memorable and marketable, as you associate that colour with the character.
Also, another factor, in some cases, the mangá authors are still learning artists, and their art skills are either not as polished. In a school setting anime, that is very common, drawing each character in an unique way, to distinguish them, in a week deadline, while having to do everything else as well can be "too much." Thus, this also works, even on black-&-white, since the different tones for hair do help.
Lastly, while that was it's primary function, it evolved and it was incorporated with what people expect. So, even if the author is able to create visual clarity without resorting to different hair colours, they still choose to add them because it not only opens more options for character design, but also because it became the norm.

That kind of sensory/muscular signal interception style of VR being exploited to cover up serial killings is a lot more plausible than _the creator of the technology himself_ using it to imprison all of his customers, and its use in the medical field to aid people with disabilities and those bedridden with illness is something I'd considered ever since first watching season 1, having genetic optic nerve deterioration myself.

I was watchng Spy X Family season 1 & I was surprised by the lack of anything that could even be remotely seen as questionable other than that one character being creepy but portrayed as such. So of course, the one day people came over to fix our central air & I had to keep my door open was the day I reached the episode where a whole scene is dedicated to 2 little girls trying on cute outfits. None of the outfits were inappropriate but I would've hated to to have to try to convince 3 strangers that there's a legit reason why that scene's there. Especially since I'm not sure I'd believe myself.

Unfortunately, it’s hard for me to get a hold of anime since my parents only have Disney plus (which is mostly slop and pumped out in the last five years) and prime video but lurking here (in the anime community in general) has been one of the most interesting things I have done.

There are two types of gatekeeping. The wrong version is just being a jerk to fans who don't do the things you do and you claim they're not real fans and stuff like that. The necessary and correct form is protecting the media from outside influences coming in and changing it or just causing trouble about things they don't like in it. That type is what all gatekeeping should be, just there to love and protect what you love from people who hate you and everything about it

The funniest part of SAO to me is in Alicization when Asuna and Alice are arguing over who Kirito loves more basically, and Asuna NEVER just goes, "Bitch, I'M LITERALLY MARRIED TO HIM." Because they got married in Aincrad in like episode 12 or something, AND I'm 99% sure when they got back to the real world, they did again. Like it was an entire plot point, right before she got kidnapped.
Also, I LOOOOVE Harem anime, usually... but why tf did Kirito MARRY Asuna and THEN get a harem suddenly? Like, honestly, basically just have everything after episode 17 or whatever come first, then the first 16 episodes. End with him marrying Asuna in the death game, surviving, and marrying her again irl. Boom. Best story out there. But no. Worse love story than Twilight, imo.
