    There's a lot the video doesn't show.
Both teams went under extensive survival training and had a survival specialist on their team. There was constant arguing on the men's side as they were slower to get things done than the women. But in the end it paid off for them and they managed to survive. The women were dictated the survivalist winners. Mostly only because they maintained better nutrition. The camera crew felt so bad for the women that they fed them and gave them water during their time "surviving". The women also bullied out their survival specialist while the men made him their leader.
The people were office workers, and were selected by volunteer. Which is why they got those type of women, women who thought they could prove themselves against men. There have been many instances on the show where a woman is capable enough to survive and contribute as much as men. Though, unfortunately... there's never been a woman leader. Which is a far cry from today where you'd almost prefer a woman leader. Men are the best leaders in a crisis, women are the best leaders for growth and development.

facts. this needs to be said more. some people really be saying "all women are like this" or "this is the avg woman", without realizing the context of the show itself. these women are the "feminists" the show allowed to go on because these women had huge egos and hated men and wanted to prove them wrong. but we shouldnt go around and generalize all women to whine and refuse to cooperate from this ONE show and/or from your own personal encounters of these type of women. comments are really disappointing me with this one.

Sounds like they got bailed out and then given the participation trophy so they wouldn't cry.
How else do you explain giving them water and food when they're on the verge of death and then going "yay, you're the survivalist winners, good job". That's some DEI shit right there.

what a load of crap, men are the best leaders generally speaking, "today you would almost prefer a woman leader" says who? most people would rather prefer a competent leader regardless of sex, here in Denmark we have a woman Prime minister, she takes no blame for her mistakes, and last election she bribed the other big parties with a place in the government, if they would not put her on a state trial for illegal actions taken during covid, which they of course took the deal so she got of free of charge, not to mentions her lies, the broken campaign promises etc.

Meanwhile in society: Men work 80% of blue-collar jobs, and 95% of construction jobs... I.E. every convenience and societal structure that the average citizen is *privileged* to have and use... is hand-fed to them men who break their backs and minds working, are under-appreciated, under-paid, and now literally labeled evil, privileged, and misogynist by modern feminists (ironically the same group that calls for "gender equality).
Can't wait for the blue-collar protests to happen just so some modern women can realize they quite literally don't have the capabilities to run a society without us 🥱

Both teams went through a few weeks long survival training so they both had equal chance at survival. Both teams had 1 survival specialist and men made him their leader while women bullied her out from their camp. Yea, to my knowledge both teams were given equal opportunities to succeed. Cant really say that it's unfair that the guys were more knowledgeable about survival stuff because that's just how guys generally think. Im sure other dudes here have run through what they would possibly do if there was ever the 1/1000000 chance they were stranded in the wild. Women don't really have these thoughts so it's just a difference in mindset, not inequality.

Production did push a narative. They tried to send the message that "Women can survive just as well as men". It just turned out this way because this specific group of women is beyond incompetent. Women passed up on a scenario that production set up to give them an advantage the guys didn't get. Two tame pigs were walking their Island, but they decided to name them instead of eat them. Meanwhile the men ate a crocodile. The men caught like 20+ fish. Meanwhile the women starved and production sent someone to hand them a couple of fish.

Most men actually underestimate how tough they can get in a survival scenario (with the help of at least one other man to lead the group). I dont think they choose the worst women for the show, all of the volunteers had no survival experience even amongst the men, plus each team had a wilderness expert iirc, the womens team didnt want to listen to her.
One other reason for the mens success might be related to what hobbies the differrent genders might have, if a mans hobby is fishing, hunting or hiking, that puts them at an advantage. (plus the boys dream of this scenario im sure😂)

This was never a contest because men have had to do this for the entirety of humanity. This is why denying gender roles is like pretending to hire a plumber to do your gardening. I heard that the men provided food and water for the camera crew and whatnot too, so the show didn't even have to keep the staff with the men fed, the men took them into the group. They bro-hugged the cameraman because he was part of the group XD
Meanwhile, it should be noted, although I think lots of people have said it already, but everyone on the men's and women's teams volunteered for the show, and went through a weeks-long survival course (or about that length I think) so the women should've been able to remember, what with being taught, drilled and tested on their knowledge and thus the show staff had enough confidence to let them go out and try to survive on the island, but then they decided that "collababorataveley" "leading" was better than letting their dedicated and experienced survivalist expert lead them and give them tasks. Mankind _needs_ leaders, its in our core nature, defying that is simply not possible at any scale of society. Also, the net came from an actual ocean junk pile that washed ashore, and the net was broken, so one guy took some time to fix the net and his work paid off brilliantly and the guys who were against it apologized.
PS, those women are in fact feminists. Its sad, but the term feminism has decayed over the years so instead of ensuring "equality of opportunity" which we had like 60 years ago, they want to be "more equal" than men, there's this toxic mindset of wanting recompense and repayment beyond anything deserved for wrongs and "wrongs" committed against your ancestors like 100 or more years ago, and in this area its both the loudest minority of women and the loudest minority of, well, minorities that have been whipped into a fervor by a certain group of powerful people to incite these changes and the chaos that's starting to infect 1st world nations. People had equality of opportunity, literally the only kind of equality that matters since it ensures that you can get anywhere purely on merit, in fact throughout history the greatest system is Meritocracy (do note that Capitalism goes hand-in-hand with it, gee I wonder why lol), throughout every citizen the leader is literally the most qualified for the position, and everyone knows it and elects them to lead for that exact reason, and qualifications for a leader is how well they'll pay attention to all of their citizens' needs and make way to provide just enough for everyone to rise up and blaze their own path in the world. So modern feminism isn't equal opportunity anymore, there's not been a wage gap in several decades, its become about being superior to men, and that's why people are always saying its about them saying "we don't need men" when objectively, yes, they most certainly do, men happen to be able to lead better than women because we can mostly put aside our feelings to do what's best for the nation rather than what we want the nation to do, and in a world prone to conflict we need leaders who can look at the facts objectively, and decide to say screw your feelings, the world is on the brink of war and I have to do something to stop the brewing conflict, or failing that, bring the conflict to a close ASAP. That's how WW2 happened btw despite some clear lack of morals and soul on one side, and by the end of it a prime example is in 1945 when the a-bombs fell, America told Japanese citizens to get out of the cities by leaflets over a week in advance, the Imperial forces prevented the citizens from leaving, and the bombs dropped. On both sides were leaders who believed they were doing the best for their nations, but America decided to end things quickly. So the one-two on Japan made them stop fighting WW2 basically right away (about a week which in war is basically ASAP though the Soviets violated the neutrality pact and invaded two days after Hiroshima). The problem then was the Imperialistic fervor and emperor worship made them disregard logic and objective truth to keep fighting, sure there was nationalistic fervor on the allies side too, but such doesn't affect the leaders who must be more objective, sadly these days we haven't had a truly objective president for a long time, the best we got was '16-'20 for that but that still wasn't complete objective reasoning and other than that in the last two decades we had either a pdphl, a "more equal" totally-diverse-definitely-not-American-born-I-pinky-promise, or a sleepy institution patient pdphl. This whole "modern feminism" BS (which isn't really feminism its something bad and malevolent like what is it now fifth-wave feminism? bleh) is all really just one symptom of far greater problems eroding the foundation of Western society, which includes 1st world European nations, SK, Japan and Australia as the "western world" as they call it. The dream is falling apart, we're about to wake up to hell, and things will go sideways faster than you can say *_son of a-_*

Also, the participants have to pass both a physical and mental check to be on the show. Then you have to go through a rudimentary survival training course, that explains what plants and animals are ok to eat plus how to humanly kill and butcher the animals.
It’s been like 10 years since I watched the show but I recall the women splitting into two groups the younger “independent” women and the older experienced survival group because the younger group didn’t want to listen to their survival expert. And each group of men and women had 1 experienced survivalist.

The reason it was unfair is not because men are stronger, though the men in the video definitely were strong, its because it is in every boy's instinct to dream about surviving alone in the wild. The narative actually push the women team a lot more than the men. As you can see how Bear Grylls said they "will doing fine" on their own in the conclusion despite the women having to call in medical help 2 time. The women team was also given 2 pig and a fish as hand out and they still starved while the men catch their own food and was surviving fine.
The video actually cut out a lot of stuff that really bad for the women, the video already show some good part already. The women have 2 medical emergency that would wipe them all out 2 different time. The pigs that was given to them go bad because they don't preserve the pig well and then they throw away their 1 of their 2 only water container making them starve and thirst despite having a lot of hand out. During the later state of the game, because they discover that they get a lot of hand out, they just stop working and just wait for the supply hand out.
Both team have an expert as well as a few week survival training. The expert on the women team was ignored because they don't want to be "bossed around" by her.The expert on the women team is the only one who kill anything during the time on the island, also basically the only one who do anything.
All the crisis the women team have is because of their attitude, not skill level.

The men for the most part recognised that the survival expert should call the shots and that they all had a job to do.
The women had multiple arguments about having a leader in the first place and about not taking orders.
Not to say that the mens team didnt have their issues with this tho. When they have found a broken fishing net, the "useless day dreamer" Sam, spend all his free time trying to repair and use it. Their survival expert told him over and over again how useless it is and the rest of the group got more and more anoyed with Sam. After the net finally paid off they swollowed their pride, admited they were wrong and appologised.

so got asked for survival tip, survival tip i will give, if you ever want to go anywhere, bring a space blanket, it is super versatile.
    1. insulate your feet by putting it in your shoe to help prevent frostbites in cold areas
    2. you can use it as a blanket to keep warm
    3. wrap a single layer around your eyes as sunglasses to prevent the snow from blinding you by reflecting too much light into your eye for too long if you are in the snow
    4. it can also be used as a cooking pot, dig a hole, put heated stones in it and you can cook water
    5. tying a small piece of it to a hook and you have fish bait
bonus: clean water isn't always safe, always cook your water and filter it if you can and cannot stand dirty water taste, solar still is another way which is just put a smaller shorter container in the middle of a bigger taller container, put a waterproof sheet to cover it, weigh down the sheet on top on the middle, afterwards it should start collecting safe water in the middle container but do make sure the sheet is clean
edit: yes with enough people you can subdue a croc, if and only if you can resist the death roll, and push the mouth down, crocs bite down hard, but muscles to open mouth is weak. however, a croc is still a croc, they have the same biology except for size since prehistoric era for a reason, do not purposefully mess with them if possible

The part I don't agree with is the "women aren't more emotional" part
    Estrogen makes you more emotional
    Testosterones makes you less emotional.
As you age you have more and more Estrogen (both genders)
Men at their prime thought have a shit ton of testosterone, and little Estrogen.
In later years men and women are about equal emotionally, but during 20-30 and a bit later men are typically less emotional.
Grab a man an woman in their prime good chance the woman will be more emotional. Though there are outlier like men that'll cry if someone get a papercut, and women that basically don't have feelings.
If you grabbed two 50+ year old they'll probably be about the same. Biologically

Yes Aquwa you are right on the spot, i like that you're very critical that's good. in the full video the men's journey is NOT as smooth as in this clip BUT overall they did it better and more fun, the character development is quite good too considering it's only a week. 13:29 just like this one, they were initially angry at the net dude because for the whole 3 days he was basically doing nothing but fixing a broken net, didn't contribute anything to the group etc, but when the dude actually fixed it they thank him and respected his dedication because the dude has just made the rest of the days so much easier.
So here is the thing, one big factor as to how the men was successful and the women didn't is not because the men are physically stronger or they are just better and the women are just bad at survival stuff.
but it's because the men actually want to cooperate with eachother they want to lower their ego even just for a little so that they can enjoy it. So then the Men's group made the specialist the leader because that's just a given if you want your group to be safe then leave it to the professional.
Meanwhile, the women's didn't (btw both group has 1 specialist who is experienced with survival stuff), sometimes the women even mocking and don't even try to listen to their specialist because their ego is in the way, if only they listen to her 😅. With her guidance they could at least make it a bearable picnic.

Yeah, while the video focus a lot on the bad part of the women team, and still only show a third of the crisis the women brought upon themselves.
The whole reason for their failure is their attitude, not skill level

yeah, i knew something was wrong when looking at the show even with minimal context. the women they chose for this show are so unbelievably egotistic, that even with all the knowledge and specialist they wouldn't make it far. if an expert told me to do something to help me survive, why wouldn't i do it? it's so simple, yet the show really let in the worst of the bunch 🤣🤣

I love the getting lost and ending up on the same beach bit.
Not even women vs men, if any of them had played Minecraft, they'd know how to put markers only on one side of a tree to keep track of their direction.
I also don't fault them for walking away from the croc, I mean, there's plenty of fish out there with no chance of getting death-rolled. A bit of fiddling on the beach to make some hooks, dig up some worms, find some string and a stick for a rod; I know this video left out a lot, but it seems infinitely better an option than attacking a large predator.
