The quick release skewers look neat. The bike in general too looks very nice.

I run 28c as well, looks like I know I can go find some easy gravel

That model likely came with 26x13/8 tires which are 650x38A (599 diameter). With long reach calipers a 650x 38 or 42B should fit for better gravel comfort.
Why use a grinder to remove the paint instead of a paint removing treatment? Just curious, I have not done anything like this. I like how you layered the decals on the fork and frame.
I rescued a 3 speed frame similar to yours. The wheels were OK and I was able to source a set of replacement tires. I was thinking it might make an interesting single speed/fixed conversion. But the gears were working so I put a flat bar on it to give it away as a commuting bike.

That was me being lazy and the grinder provided a speedy way to scrape off rust build up on the surface. Yes you are right, the original configuration was a 26 wheel setup 😜

Nice to see the stem/fork setup holding up, quick question: what is the device you are using next to the stem? A speedometer? What brand is that?

Thanks! The speedo meter is called Cateye Quick

OK stop there should have been a bolt that keep that cap on your stem that keep your headset compressed and tight so you are using the stem and its bolts to keep your headset together do us a favor and double check that or is it not ahead style headset and stem

The whole steerer assembly were held by just the stem when the top cap detached. There's a compression lug in the steerer tube still. Despite losing the compression plug, I was still able to complete over 20km of gravel ride without any failure. Of course I have replaced the plug now with new one. The stem held strong, the headset remained intact, I am happy for that
