Modification Build, Vintage Raleigh 700c Road Gravel Bike Conversion (7.9kg)
มุมมอง 295K2 ปีที่แล้ว
My most difficult bike build ever. Full modifications and conversion of barn find 1973 Raleigh Sports into a modern Road Gravel Bike (80% Tarmac, 20% Light Gravel) I went all out crazy on this build. Exploring insane ideas. Please, I did this on my own bike that I will ride myself. What you will see would probably not work and safe for anyone else to attempt. Grips can be easily removed after a subcutaneous injection of the dish soap into them with a syringe and a needle. When the soap penetrates the boundary between bar and grips they are easy to remove.

Yo, i usually come for audio reviews but this is a sick build. I think ive seen 1 inch carbon forks on ali express that might fit without the sketchy headset setup lol. Ive got an old steel chromoly road bike made in New Zealand that i have converted to a fixed gear. Also where did you get that seat post? is it 27.2 or smaller?

There's a new wrinkle in the sport and cukture of cycling. Old bikes can be found, bought cheap, used for parts, chopped, recombined, customized, and painted different ways. So, flying under the radar of the superlight, super expensive carbon fibre and electronic toys out there which are bound to break and demand proprietary replacement for all parts, are the bikes like this one. Early this Spring I received a bike because a dear friend's Dad had passed away, and its a 1979 pamasonic, bought in Toronto from the buggest bike store of the day, and it was in pristine condition. So last month i rode it on an 1800 km bike trip up to the end of paved roadway in northern Ontario. Never had a problem even though ut was loaded with heavy gear ( i dont exactly travel as light as many) and i had no flats, no rims going out of true, no creaking or bothersome noises. At my age, i know when a bike is working well, and this one was an excellent piece of strong steel quality machine. Bravo to you, and all out there who tinker with the old stuff. My fleet is about ten bikes. The neest is a 2011, and they go back to 1969. Cheers mate

tips on removing integrated stem.. don't remove the handle bar, loosen the bolt clamp and don'f fully loosen it. if it's popping up hammer it down so the clamp inside get unstuck and proceed to wiggle it sideways until full removal.
