  • A ride review & speed test of the MacRais Z8X 19kw 85mph electric motorcycle with comparison to Zero, Evoke Classic along side a TC Max

    A link to the specific bike is here, www.green-mopeds.com/macrais/z8x
    Green-Mopeds.com is a London based electric-only moped and motorcycle dealer and importer. We started in 2017 by signing a dealership with Torrot (torrot.com/) after initially seeing an electric moped for rent on holiday in Portugal.
    Since then we looked for more brands and became the UK Importer for ECCity Motorcycles from France (www.eccity-motocycles.com/) and then Super Soco (supersoco.co.uk/) from China.
    In early 2018 we were then approached by Askoll (www.askollelectric.com/) to be their first London dealer and soon followed by Lifan who were lauching their first moped the E3 (www.lifanmotos.net/product/ddc....
    Later in 2019 we also signed up with SurRon with their hugely popular and lightweight LBX Lightbee (www.sur-ron.com)
    Mid 2019, we signed up to be the first dealer for Niu (www.niu.com) and sold the first 9 of their new NGT model when it was launched at the end of 2019.
    In early 2020 the UK Importer for Torrot moved on to other things and we became their importer to support existing customers of the Muvi range.
    Later in 2020 after a request from a customer, we signed up with Artisan (artisanscooters.com/) to sell not only their brand but also Horwin (www.horwinglobal.com/) and Kollter (www.kollter.com/).
    Recently we have added ThElMoCo (thelmoco.com) who supply LVENG bikes (www.lvnengebike.com) and now SunRa (www.sunraev.com) and hence offering the broadest range of any electric motorcycle dealer in the UK.
    We have been approached by many manufacturers to become their importers which we will consider when the time is right.

    Macrais z8x or evoke urban classic? Who is better in torque, top speed, range and brakes? What brakes have in evoke?

    Been waiting a while for this guy to provide a final version. Looks like price has Increased slightly so he must be near to a final version?
    Might be worth reviewing again.

      All the importers of the bikes we do have increased their prices this year (one by about 33%). The main change on this one is that the battery capacity has increased (ie range). We will look at it again when they arrive

    I have question please :
    Is the hub motor ( double swing arm version ) more powerful and faster than ( single sided swing arm version ) or they are the same ?

    • @GreenMopeds
      @GreenMopeds  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The single swing arm mostly provides an ease of use tyre change option and possibly saves a bit of weight

    I wish this had a CCS charger.. then i’d buy it straight away 🤔 (a CCS charged costs about 3x more than this 😰)

    Hi guys, iv always wanted to get biking but as a very large fella have always felt that normal 125cc cbt bikes are gonna struggle to moove me an get me up steep hills due to low torque but I'd love to know what these are like torque wise an how well they pull up hills

    • @GreenMopeds
      @GreenMopeds  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      With the power this have, you shouldn't have any issue at all

  • @BuntaBall40
    @BuntaBall40 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    How does nominal power vs peak work. I have TCMAX and 3kw nominal and 5kw max. I can't feel the extra 2kw burst into action when riding. I love the bike but the power rating doesn't make sense to me. I just assumed it's a 5kw motor regulated to 3kw so it doesn't over heat. Can you can explain power ratings mate

    • @GreenMopeds
      @GreenMopeds  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think youre highlighting that these bikes do not have a big HP. HP governs acceleration. 4.5kw is for example 6hp so compared to ICE, its low and hence you need more kw to get the sort of acceleration that you might be expecting

    • @shredmas
      @shredmas ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Peak power is not sustainable. The lower rating of 3 KW is continuous power. My zero dirt bike has 18 KW peak but it will only sustain that for about 5 seconds at best I really notice it when climbing hills that are deep sand. It usually has to do with the setting and the controller but in my case my limitation is my BMS system

    Nice,
    What sort of insurance cost would this be?
    The livewire was about £400 for me .

      You need to call around a few insurers

    I have the Evoke Urban Classic. How does this compare?

    • @ricardosantos1986
      @ricardosantos1986 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      On your evoke.. the brakes is brembo? Or other good brand? Top speed , torque and range is good? I like the evoke

    • @richardlister1545

      My brakes are Adelin (they seem to be a popular brand in the USA and Eastern bike circles) seem fine compared with others, pads feel soft initially (I usually fit HH when replacing pads, will do so when these need replacing), but have plenty of stopping power when needed. Because of the regen braking, I barely use the brakes once the battery is under 85%, as slowing is done by the motor. (Above this, regen does not kick in, to protect the battery from overcharging). The linked braking has taken me a bit of getting used to, as I am used to dragging the rear a little for low speed control, which is tricky if the front wants to dive a little, I have had to learn to just use throttle.

    It's basically (not that this is a bad thing) a reworked Alrendo TS Bravo, isn't it? Thankfully without the daft ape-hanger bars.
    Based on the same Chinese starting point, anyway.

      @cortexico233 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nah you're missleading. Indeed it's the same platform, but it's actually the opposite way. This bike is a respond to the demand on electrified motorcycles based on the new generation of QS motors. So this bike is an electrified Z1000 and as began production in early 2018. It was mostly for China market and not much in EU or UK. Alrendo CEO is a man that created a bike for EU market based on this bike. So they did upgrade some flaws that are present on this bike. Like this hub motor that deports thecenter of gravity to the wheel.

    Based on your speed test I'm fairly shocked to see the Silence S01 is actually faster to 30mph and 60mph!

    • @GreenMopeds
      @GreenMopeds  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thats because of HP which these bikes typically have quite a low amount as compared to ICE bikes. 9kw is 12hp for example.

    I'd have something like this in a heartbeat - but who's going to insure it for a CBT rider?
    (Even me - and I'm 61!)
