  • Horwin CR6 ride review. We took the Horwin CR6 out for a ride to give a better understanding of how the CR6 rides and performs. The Horwin CR6 is a 125cc equivalent electric motorbike with a classic design that is built for commuting in towns, cities, or to blast down some b-roads to get from one town to the next. With an urban range of 60+ miles, and a top speed just shy of 60mph, the CR6 is a fantastic option to reduce your carbon footprint, and save some pennies while you do it.

    Really good review, looking at getting my first bike and CR6 seems perfect for urban riding and couple of hours on Dartmoor! Thanks

    Wonderful video, this and the Artisan ES-1 Pro are very very tempting
    EDIT: went down to see Matt (gentleman in video) at J&M electrobikes, now I’m convinced, this will be the bike for me, now I just need to decide on the colours! I wish they did a black on black frame but alas they do not, might have to go for the white like in this with black frame and change the white plastic to gloss black, then maybe add the black rear rails from the pro 🤔 it would be truly perfect then!

    Thanks for the video - very informative for people like me who are considering a change from an ICE bike to electric.
    Unless I'm missing something there does seem to be a big gap in the range of bikes that are available.
    At the one end, there's the Horwin CR6 and Super Soco TC, which are just about affordable (for me), but somewhat smaller and with much less range than the ICE bikes I'm used to.
    At the other end of the scale there's the models by Zero and Energica, which have a decent range but are priced way over my budget.
    Do you know if there are any models in between these 2 extremes on their way, or already available?

      Hi Steve. The CR6 is a perfect choice as a first bike. They really are awesome machines! We'd be happy to help you get closer to owning one. If your local to us we can host you for a demo if you've not tried one yet, but also happy to get one ordered for you! Feel free to give me a call on 07554012342 to discuss further! Matt

    Would a regular garage be able to service one of these? Or would it need to go to a specialist bike dealer?

    Just a thought, most type 2 chargers are 7kw. Does that mean it will charge the battery even faster?

    This has me crazy tempted but I've seen there's been issues with exploding batteries when charging with the ignition still on due to a lack of High Voltage Cutoff. Has anyone else experienced and issue?

    I'm looking to get one of these for my first bike but I can't seem to find an average insurance quote for example for one of these bikes that doesn't require you already owning one.

      We work closely with Lexham for insurance as they have a section dedicated to electric motorbike insurance. Have a look for a quote with the below link.

    Hello J&M. Between the Horwin CR6 and the Super Soco TC Max, what do you choose? What tilt your choice? Best regards.

    • @jmelectrobikes1650
      @jmelectrobikes1650  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Nuno. Thanks for your comment. There are a few key differences between to two to consider. Performance wise with speed and range they are very similar. TC Max has a removable battery which is good if you need to charge off the bike, whereas the CR6 has battery and charger built in so no need to carry around the charger separately. Handling differs in that the TC Max is very light and nimble making it great through traffic, the CR6 is a little heavier but feels very stable. All these factors, plus the styling, really make it a choice based on how you'd use the bike and which you prefer the look of!

    Je n'ai jamais eu de motos a part (Motobecane 51) mais cette moto électrique m'intéresse pour rouler sur Paris à aller me balader. J'aime les motos plus lourdes je trouve que c'est plus stable les Peugeot spx j'avais peurs dessus je préfèrerai les Motobecane.

    Its a nice bike but my issue is how the dealers that sell these and other electric bikes are ripping people off with the price, the grant discount is supposed to be a benefit to the buyer and encourage the purchase of electric and make it cheaper, however the dealers learned than they could up the price on the bike artificially so that when the 20% is taken off it costs way more than it should and basically costs as much as it would had there not been a discount and the dealer can then bank that free money. At the time of this video it was £5000 after the 20% so without that the cost of the bike would be £6000 give or take, but shortly after that the dealers all got wise and one by one bumped up the price to around £6960 give or take then they do the 20% discount which would make the cost with the discount around £5795, then they bank that £800 as free money rather than pass the discount onto the buyer as it should be and was intended.

    • @jmelectrobikes1650
      @jmelectrobikes1650  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi EQUINOX, Just to ensure clarity, the dealers don't decide the rrp for these bikes, they are set by the importers / manufacturers, and as a dealer network we have a contractual agreement to sell at these agreed prices to ensure consistency across all retailers. The government grant changed in Dec '21 meaning that the contribution has reduced from a max of £1500 to a max of £500 which is why you've seen a price increase over the last month or so. I hope that clears this up for you. Any other questions please let us know.

      I wouldn't say that's embarrassing at all. The MQi GT Evo is rapid and would out perform a lot of petrol 125cc motorbikes as well!
