I really wish I could find Nikki and Loudon's whole scene at Mr. Montgomery Bell's house!! The background music is so lovely when they are about to kiss!
Born in 1988 and saw this movie twice on TH-cam not long ago! Makes me wish I was around more in the 80s 😍 Definitely love the opening and the title of this movie is also one of my top 10 favorite Madonna songs too! Glad I didn’t regret watching this movie
Who's that Girl is one of those "So bad, its good" films to watch and enjoy for most people. I am mostly there for the awesome music that captures the spirit of the 80s, the decade I was born in.

I wish Madonna had taken a different approach to this character. In Desperately Seeking Susan, she was allowed a LOT of freedom to create Susan's personality and decided to just do things in a "spur of the moment" way. In this movie, the director had her follow a rigid script and Nikki's personality was literally "by the book." Even the director realized much later that he seriously thought this was a mistake. He said if he had a chance, he'd go back and redo the script so Madonna would have to create Nikki herself and ad-lib a lot of scenes.
Warner Brothers might have had something to say about that. A first time director and a really bad actress ad libbing their way through $30 million of their money? that was never going to happen.

She may have to break the rules to do it, but her uncanny ability to live life on the fly (and get what she wants) is something we should all strive for!! This is a cute movie that will leave you smiling. And to all the shithead critics that raked Madonna across the coals for it...get a grip! It wasn’t meant to be an Oscar contender and she did a fantastic job!
