It is completely beyond me how one could possibly underrate or overlook this song. I was 8 years old when I first heard it and I immediately went crazy about it. It's one of my all time Madonna favourites.
Same here. I loved this whole soundtrack. I think it was my second favorite because I really loved Who’s That Girl. Both are Definitely in my top 5 Madonna songs of all time.
I saw this movie as a child. I had no idea what the hell was going on in the plot, but I was so obsessed with her style, attitude and music it didn't matter 🖤💋
I totally forgot about this song and how good it is. It's always under the radar and I'm pretty sure it's not on any of her greatest hits or compilation albums. A rare 80's gem!
I do admit I was never a huge Madonna fan but have always liked this song a lot, always felt this was one of Madonna's least appreciated songs of her career and the radio stations never seem to play this song or "Who's That Girl" often on the radio anymore.
Raymond Nolan Scott again, she had much more popular singles. This song should have stayed number one for a lot longer than six measly weeks. Also, this song was only #2 on the hot 100 for three weeks. And it was #37 on the adult contemporary charts. If you're gonna mention charts, list them all.
Love this song and how Madonna references "Into the Groove". This single went to number 2 in the US and top 10 in Europe... Still a killer song! Thanks for posting! 🐆
Who's That Girl is one of those "So bad, its good" type of films to watch. Sure it was a flop, but the music...who couldn't resist such awesome 80s style pop that takes you back to a time you were born in that decade and didn't even know too much about Madonna, other than her earlier albums released at that time.
Madonna's striking beauty is so perfect up on the silver screen & i remember the gasps and whistles in the cinema during it lol!!! still love this film, soundtrack and of course, Madonna herself. A true icon and artist. 💯👏🌟🌟👑👑
You can't even compare with the shit these kids listen to these days... this is a timeless classic along with many of her other greatest hits... a true phenomenon she was ! Plus drop dead gorgeous 😍
It was a huge global smash and performed on 2 world tours: Whos' Thar Girl and Blond Ambition. A top 10 hit in the US, UK, Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, Italy, Sweden. Also went to #1 on Billborad's Dance Club Songs Chart and Adult Contemporary Chart
I am sure people will meet this comment with some negative reaction, but if you lived through it, Madonna career is 1984 to 1989 (almost the exact years she was married to Sean Penn). Everything after that was different and it seems she wasn't being true to the person that EXPLODED on the scene in 1985.
Agree! I was crazy about this woman, loved her flirtiness, her looks and her great music ,but something happened after the 80’s came to an end and she became more of a shock queen. I never listened to her again.. there’s a big difference between being sexy and just being a skank!
1990 was her biggest year career wise (Vogue, Immaculate Collection, Blond Ambition Tour), she was on more magazine covers in 1990 than any living person in a single year in history, I would say she was unstoppable from late 1984-late 1992, with 1990 as her peak
@@bearcookie13 she definitely wasn't a shock queen from 1995-2008, she was extremely reserved and didn't use sex at all during that period, she did Evita, Ray of Light, Music etc, she started being sexy and shocking again in 2008 when she got divorced the second time but Madonna wasn't shocking or sexual at all from 95-08
1. She wasn't dating Sean in 1984 or in late 1989 2. Vogue is one of her biggest hits and it was released in 1990 3. Ray of light is also one of her biggest hits and it was released in 1998
On this day in 1987 {October 18th} Madonna's "Causing A Commotion" peaked at #2 {for 3 weeks} on Billboard's Hot Top 100 chart, the first two weeks it was at #2, the #1 record for both those weeks was "Bad" by Michael Jackson, and for it's third week at #2, "I Think We're Alone Now" by Tiffany was in the top spot...... And one week later it peaked at #1 {for 1 week} on Billboard's Hot Dance Club Play chart... The Bay City, Michigan native had four other records that peaked at #2 on the Top 100 chart, "Material Girl" for 2 weeks in 1985, "Express Yourself" for 2 weeks in 1989, "Cherish" for 2 weeks in 1989, and "I'll Remember" for 1 week in 1998... Madonna Louise Ciccone celebrated her 61st birthday two months ago on August 16th, 2019...

I heard that this movie did better in the UK at the box office than it did in the US. I live in the UK and I think it's a brilliant and very funny movie.
One of my favorite parts was when Madonna was pulled over by the cop, and she said "Officer, my husband is having a heart attack, I need to get him to the hospital, is this the way?" And she's pointing to a "Dead End" street sign! I loved that part!
Wow. 1987....I was 14. This movie wasn't trying to be a masterpiece. It was just being crazy, silly, fun. Not taking itself seriously. How I miss Sam Goody. Damn where does the time go. "Causing a Commotion"
Madonna #WhosThatGirl
[Chorus]
I've got the moves, baby, you got the motion
If we got together, we'd be causing a commotion
I've got the moves, baby, you got the motion
If we got together, we'd be causing a commotion
[Verse 1]
You met your match when you met me
I know that you will disagree it's crazy
But opposites attract you'll see
And I won't let you get away so easy
[Pre-Chorus]
The love you save may be your own
Can't fight this feeling, aren't you tired of being alone?
You won't admit it but you know it's true
It's not a secret how I feel when I stand next to you
[Chorus]
I've got the moves, baby, you got the motion
If we got together we'd be causing a commotion
I've got the moves, baby, you got the motion
If we got together we'd be causing a commotion
[Verse 2]
Someday you'll see my point of view
You can't keep wishing on the stars, baby
What works for me can work for you
You've got to make a compromise and maybe
[Pre-Chorus]
Then we can keep our love alive
And when it falls we won't let it die
It doesn't matter if you win or lose
It's how you play the game, so get into the groove
[Chorus]
I've got the moves, baby, you got the motion
If we got together we'd be causing a commotion
I've got the moves, baby, you got the motion
If we got together we'd be causing a commotion
[Post-Chorus]
Causing a commotion, causing a commotion
Causing a commotion, causing a commotion
[Middle 8]
I hope you find what you're looking for
Is it mine, walk through that door
We're wasting time, make up your mind
And get into the groove
[Pre-Chorus]
Then we can keep our love alive
And when it falls we won't let it die
It doesn't matter if you win or lose
It's how you play the game, so get into the groove
[Middle 8]
I hope you find what you're looking for
Is it mine, walk through that door
We're wasting time, make up your mind
And get into the groove
[Chorus]
I've got the moves, baby, you got the motion
If we got together we'd be causing a commotion
I've got the moves, baby, you got the motion
If we got together we'd be causing a commotion
[Post-Chorus]
Causing a commotion, causing a commotion
Causing a commotion, causing a commotion
[Chorus]
I've got the moves, baby, you got the motion
If we got together we'd be causing a commotion
I've got the moves, baby, you got the motion
If we got together we'd be causing a commotion
