  • Today we install PLM's tucked radiator and backdoor intercooler on my turbo b16 civic project car! We had to do a little fabrication to make everything fit but that is the fun part!
    Part #'s
    Radiator:PLM-RD-TCK
    Intercooler:PLM-IC-BD

    Using the exhaust clamps was a very nice idea

      Thanks! Yeah, it's a great way to mount things to bars/tubes without damaging anything!

    Looking good. Was thinking those lower intercooler brackets could use some bracing, lot of weight for some flatbar. Probably gonna have issues down road. Looking good 👍

      Yeah I'm gonna try to find some thicker steel to mount them up, and I wanna find a way to support it from the top as well.

    what set up does it have, it looks a lot like mine, although mine is an EM1, where can I get that carbon fiber part...

    • @kraftingkars
      @kraftingkars  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I got the carbon part from technocrfaft components. I'm running a css b16a3 82mm super tech pistons, eagle rods, OEM bearings, Ferrera valvetrain, ported and polished head, gsr trans, ITR lsd, Garret 63/60 journal bearing turbo, 3 in exhaust, 3 inch intercooler piping, on e85 ish

    Great job man! Was wondering what brand your carbon fiber radiator support cover plate was or where you got it from?

    Did you fully tighten those clamps on your sway bar? My first thought was that your intercooler is going to shift as you drive down the road. Probably more since the mounts are so thin.

      Currently working on finding some stronger steel or angle iron to get it mounted more secure 👍

      I stay between 185 and 190. This rad/int setup has been my most efficient yet

    Why you change the csf radiator, is not working enough?

    • @kraftingkars
      @kraftingkars  ปีที่แล้ว

      It wasn't as efficient on long drives I noticed. But it could have been since my ducting wasn't as effective. My new radiator covers pretty much the entire opening of the bumper, where my csf did not, air will always follow the path of least resistance so don't think I was getting enough air through the csf. With proper ducting I'm sure it works great! People cool V8s with it!

    Dahm you changed your whole turbo set up? Why

    • @kraftingkars
      @kraftingkars  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      When I was bottom mount my turbo sat too low so I couldn't run a drain line into my pan just using gravity. I had to use a scavenge pump. Well I had tons of issues burning up my scavenge pump internals because the oil was too hot coming out of the turbo. Went through 3 nice pumps and I said screw this. No more issues now that I'm top mount.

    Nice. Did you have to wire both fans to the same connector?

    • @kraftingkars
      @kraftingkars  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yep! Spliced them both I to the same plug, then ran them off a dedicated relay. Using the factory wiring as a signal cable, and a direct line from the batter for power

    Did you notice your IAT's and Water temp drop with the bigger coolers? If so how much lower? Thanks

    • @kraftingkars
      @kraftingkars  ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh yeah, we are now consistently under 100 degrees IAT. And always under 190 ECT! My oil cooler helps a ton as well
