I can’t believe your fabricator didn’t grind the anodizing off of the bov flange. I’ve welded several of the eBay flanges for customers and they weld just fine and don’t have all that contamination if you just spend a couple more minutes cleaning and prepping..
Most people just put the pipes on and run it but I figured why not give it a little custom touch I think it looks pretty good too it also doesn’t affect the cooling as much as people think it does most factory radiators are coded in a black paint and I didn’t put the coats on super thick or anything so it still works good intake temps aren’t very high
Hell yeah man, looks amazing! If only I saw this video before going with my $550 piping and intercooler kit that I had to modify anyway. Paid someone $150 to modify and weld it. SO I spend a total of $700 for the intercooler piping... Compared to less than $200 with yours. Great content man! Keep producing, you're gonna make it up there!
I hope this video helps someone trying to get theirs done on the cheap. I got welds done free so that helps and already had BOV and intake temp sensor stuff so it cost me about $130ish which is still cheaper than anywhere else to find 2.5inch pipe kit. They only have 2 inch and 3 inch but not the 2.5 which I wanted lol.
Yea he did the one pipe and now I want them all done. My 30psi d series build didn’t have bead rolled and a few times they popped off so they would have fixed it haha
Very good work. But I have a small objection, as a reference the pipe, which ends in the upper slot of the intercooler, with two 90° angles. It would be preferable if the end section were glued at a 45° angle, upwards towards the intercooler socket, with a 120° elastic joint.
James another great video this build is actually helping me out on my 7thgen civic im planning to boost it this season just got the maxspeed turbo today love your content keep it up uve inspired me for my build on my channel god bless bro
Hope you had the car battery disconnected before welding. A lot of times it can fry the ecm and possible other sensors and modules. Sometimes you may get lucky and not have an issues. Also kudos to you trying that alumiweld. You did pretty good for never doing it before. I have never tried that stuff before.
It’s been hard finically for us all and makes content hard to make at times but hope it gets better for us all soon. You keep up the good work your doing too man!
Excellent job loved the idea of what you did with the U pipes very smart, i did this exact same thing on my 06 civic si thanks to this video, saved a lot of money on intercooler piping, thanks man !
How is the pipe doing? Thought about using it for my truck I’m putting a turbo on (probably only run 5psi for now) but the truck the turbo came on from factory didn’t have a intercooler idk if I need to put one. It’s a diesel truck turbo going in a gasser
Well to save some money it’s worth it. Now they do sell a pre fit pipe kit for $150 but it’s 2inch which is really small pipe size and I’m not wanting that small. They also have a 3inch but it’s $700 so I made my own way cheaper lol
Brother it seems that when you remove the couplers to weld the pipes you have not provided enough pipe inside the couplers to touch tip to tip a nd be welded? Or am I just not seeing it?
Hey James I have a spot on my project truck that is rusted out on the lower bed it's a small area like 3" by 3" and I was wondering can I use that rod stuff you used and a torch to apply a patch panel because I don't know anything about welding. Any help would be appreciated. Rsx looks awesome.
Do you have any fitment issues between the wastegate and the heater core hoses? i’ve heard some people have to either modify the housing or get an aftermarket one for the wastegate to clear them
Welder not taking his job seriously if you ask me you can always grind of the coating just like you would grind aluminum before you weld it hope you didn’t pay more then $15 for that
Well without a intercooler you can’t run turbo… I mean you can but you don’t won’t make power long due to hott intake temps and blowing the engine due to heat! Different intercoolers can support more power but it’s not the intercooler that gives horsepower it just cools the hott air down.
@@TexasHondaChannel 🤦♂️i was totally thinking supercharger Aye but now I wanna sketch my name onto my intercooler. Wanted to think you for that idea too😉
It already has a light weight flywheel and race clutch. Not sure what it is but it held 301whp perfectly fine so not sure it’s limit but I’m positive I will fine it’s limits. Not sure on all that stuff yet

The pipes in white looks so cool and different from typical turbo builds.

Nothing wrong with the diy kit's
Used several times in the past without issue. Nicely done ✔️ 👏
This looks really good. Not bad for $80! Always enjoy your content.
Thanks and i agree! Really cheap compared to the other options.
TH-cam just asked me if this channel was a good recommendation for me. Heck yeah! 👍🏻
Thank you for that! It’s a hard world being a Christian TH-camr with values and morals. Appreciate it more than you know.
I’m excited to see how much power it makes!
Also those wheels will make it loook killer 😎
Right!?! That’s what I’m saying!
You should definitely bring the other pipes you cut in to him so he can bead roll them so they dont pop out under boost

I always think about the battery situation I didn’t this time around. Thankfully it’s all working!
Car is coming along nicely bro.
Thank you 🙏🏻 your more than welcome to come take a ride when it’s done.
@@TexasHondaChannel oh man thanks 🙏
Good job the build is looking clean.
Thank you 🙏🏻
Getting so close!!!
Yes sir! It’s getting exciting!
Looking good. Those new wheels would look good painted white and gold 👍👍
I like them how they are but white and gold is a good idea too! I first need to see if they fit properly then go from there.
@@TexasHondaChannel They look good like they are tho. I was just thinking about matching the car 👍
@@johnnymoody2740 yea i got you! Thanks for the input btw. Appreciate it
I used the same piping on my 8th gen si, fir great!
Awesome!! Hope it helps others save some money too!
looks sickk!!! Its all coming together you gotta powdercoat the compressor housing white!!
I know a guy 🙏🏻
Looks good! keep going! 🏁 almost time to tune! 💯
Yes sir! My good friend Eric at AGN tuning will be taking care of me on that 😎
Car is lookin good bro!
Thank you 🙏🏻 appreciate it
Great job brother 👏 your car has came along way may God keep blessing u 🙏
Thank you 🙏🏻
Lookn good. I'm ready to get back started on mine again

There is enough pipe inside I have them touching inside the couplers.

i would say probably not, you can get an extremely cheap mig welder on amazon for sub 100 dollars and it should do the trick just fine.
That’s for aluminum so probably not.
Bless you too brother!
Good work brother. Used a eBay intercooler kit for my turbo civic also. Just have to be a little creative.
Do you have any fitment issues between the wastegate and the heater core hoses? i’ve heard some people have to either modify the housing or get an aftermarket one for the wastegate to clear them
I will do video of coolant routing soon as exhaust is done hope that helps.

On a build like this how much horsepower would an intercooler add

What kind of white spray paint did you use for intercooler piping. Did you use heat resistant paint

Awesome video bro can’t wait for the dyno
Yea bro same here!!!!
Do you have a link for that engine tuck harness. Looking for one that runs from the ecu to crank side sensors to injectors then everything after.
Where is rst located and how much did the entire job cost to have welded
My bro is that JC in kansas ? Looks familiar
I lived in Kansas years ago but I’m not in Kansas I’m in central texas.
great job 👏 👍 👌 🙌
Thank you 🙏🏻 more to come! God willing!
What song/beat is this? @5:00
